Starting a business in the Philippines
Aray ko! Nauntog din ako!
Believe it or not, it’s a lot easier to start your own successful business in the Philippines, compared noong panahon. True, medyo mahirap mag-start with all the lagay na gagawin ninyo, pero, let’s not let them win na mawalan tayo nang pag-asa to start our own. Di ba?
Ang isipin mo, finally, nauntog din ang ulo ninyo at na-realize ninyo na it’s about time that you start thinking about your future, about yourself instead na puro na lang padala sa mga relathieves na wala nang ginawa pagalitan kayo dahil kulang na naman ang pang-shopping nila sa mga mega-malls in the Philippines. Pag dating nang pasko o holidays, ni wala man lang cards or pasasalamat. Me cards man once in a blue moon, pengeng pera ang laman. Di ba ganon?
Ok. So, anong kelangan ninyo to start a business? Well, eto:
Una – you must find the right business for you.
Pangalawa – kelangan, you must be passionate sa business na pinili mo.
Pangatlo – you have to dedicate your time and effort sa business na to para magbunga ang pinunla mo.
Ngayon – sasabihin mo:
Eh, wala akong pera eh! Wag mo munang isipin yan. Finish the entire business concept, create a working model at alamin mo kung possible ba tong business na to at magkano ang aabutin. And then, saka mo isipin yong pera.
Eh, wala akong experience eh! Hindi mo kelangan ang experience to be an entrepreneur, ok?!
COURAGE anak. Courage. Carriage. Para kang si Cinderella nito. Kelangan, wa ka takot to go where you’ve never been before para masunod ang ambisyon mong maging successful sa negosyo.
Those people who are willing to take a risk to get to where they wanted to be and those people who are not willing to take a risk. Ngayon, if you are the type who would not want to take a risk, eh dyan ka lang sa kung ano mang kinalalagyan mo. Magdusa ka. Wag kang iiyak. Sabagay, kung comfortable ka with the way it is, kung you are happy with everything the way they are, ok lang yon! Allelujah! But, kung me ambisyon ka, then you need to take some risk dahil kelangan yon. Now, what kind of risk ang kelangan mo to get to where you wanted to be?
What does it take to start a business?
If you have a clear idea kung anong klaseng negosyo ang papasukan mo, that’s great. But remember, the most important thing is that, eto ba is something that you are passionate about? Eto ba is something that you care about at alam mong mag-e-enjoy ka? Kelangan you have to be passionate about sa business na papasukin mo.
Alam mo ba, many people start business by selling product na ginagamit nila. Or sometimes, hobby o kaya interest in life. Mag-tingin tingin ka sa kapaligiran mo. Think about yong mga products and services na malakas ang kutob mong magiging successful atsaka interesado ka na, enjoy ka pa.
Magiging successful nga ba ako?
You know, there are a lot of studies na ginawa nang mga major international accounting firms about small businesses at medyo consistent naming ang mga pinagsasabi nila. Sabi nila, it takes about two years after na mag-start ang business mo to break even. You know, patas lang. Sa two-year perio na to – your business might suffer losses, kaya kelangan lakasan mo talaga loob mo at make sure marami kang resources. In the next three to four years, kikita na ang business mo kaso most of those profits will go doon sa mga utang mo noong nalulugi ka pa. After four years, ayan, medyo me kikitain ka na nang konti. Sabi, it is only after the 5th or 6th year to be really successful at ma-enjoy mo ang good life base doon sa pinunla mong negosyo. Meaning, hindi naman all the time that this is the rule and this is what’s going to happen.
Anong rewards nang successful business?
Pera anak. Financial independence na tinatawag. Respect. Recognition. At personal sense of accomplishment na – aba? Uragon din pala ako! You won’t be working for a bunch of arrogant, abusive at discriminating bosses dahil ikaw na ang bida. You will have a lot of freedom. They sent you to school for training and then they had you signed up na magiging preso ka nila nang ilang taon. None of those anak ang mangyayari once you have your own business. Ikaw ang hari. You decide and you create your own path to success.
