South of the Border

Post image for South of the Border

I noticed this place called South of the Border along I-95. It looked very inviting at night with all the neon signs, its big Sombrero Tower and their mascot, Pedro. It is located in South Carolina just right beside the border with North Carolina.

You can’t miss this place. Along I-95, you will see all types of irreverent signs featuring Pedro wearing an oversized sombrero and poncho, counting down the number of miles to, and promoting, South of the Border.

I was headed to Philadelphia and I was right in the area around noon and I thought I’d try some Mexican food. It is impossible to miss this place.

Then, there’s the Sombrero Tower

And then, there’s the Mexican Bandido, Pedro

I guess, this is what Pedro worships

If this is the spark plug of Pedro’s truck, I wonder what it looks like then, pro’lly he drove a spaceship on the road from El Mexico to South Carolina.

When I arrived, there were not that many cars I see. I guess, because it was a Thursday. I wonder how this place looks like on a weekend.

Oh yeah, they have it.

I noticed the sign. Just like what I see on the highway.

Pedro is always having siesta.
