Day 1?
So far, so good. At least, that’s how the prosecution feels. They scored on the first day of Corona impeachment trial. Enrile junked two pleadings favoring the chief justice. One of them was a bid for a preliminary hearing — a move that, if granted, could delay the trial proper.
What about the defense? They too, believe they’ve done a pretty good job.
But like a mad dog, I’m salivating reading a lot of articles, opinions and views, watching a lot of videos – Day 1 of the Corona Impeachment Trial.
Let me tell you what I think…
I think we’re all one and the same along the lines of making it fair for everyone, disgusting as it may sound, GMA included. In that, we cannot set aside the rule of law for us to see the likes of Corona be meted out with the very words written on the Constitution, impeachment in past tense.
But really now, who are we trying to “impeach?”
It’s GMA and all the crocs that sprouted like gremlins not Corona. It’s the pervasive unscrupulousness of our government officials that stalked our country since we all started breathing the fumes of corruption.
Almost every single one of them is guilty of these words seared into their forehead – bribery, fraudulent loans and contracts, drugs, illegal logging, crimes, profiteering, shady deals, fraud, extortion, malfeasance, breach of trust.
It’s unbelievable what has become of the Philippines!
Just like our Dancalan Provincial Road in Castilla, Sorsogon, which will remain as one eternal Talahib Highway, reduced to an ugly Jurassic Park. Yet, politicians in that part of the world continue to rake in their share of their pork barrel, of their road user’s tax, of their IRA where flicker of activity ignites only when election is near.
I said “theirs” not ours.
But as I watch the defense panel perform their acts, some call them an all-star-cast, the legal luminaries in Manila, the brilliant legal minds. Scary at it sounds, but this is literally defending Corona to high heavens, the end game being to set Arroyo free.
Wait, did I read pro-bono?! Sounds abono or fertilizer to me, yes, and the fertilizer fund. Meaning, when will they collect from Corona? Somehow, somewhere, there’s got to be one big pizza pie for everyone to have a slice.
And so Corona cries.
Its Hacienda Luisita.
This is a fight for democracy!
This is for judicial independence!
Exactly what kind of independence is this?! Democracy my ass! But this is none of the above.
This is now mind boggling to me. How do you even think of giving justice to the very people who wantonly destroyed the institutions that we, the Filipino people, expect to protect us? These kryptonites in front of our tv’s have gained so much dollars and power, manipulating what’s written on the very document that serves as the soul of every Filipino.
But on this journey, I support Noynoy Aquino.
Alas! The person they call Abnoy has balls after all! He is our hope to break us up from this bloody fu~!@#$%ng bondage of corruption!
Damn it!
We’re all sick and tired of these words, graft and corruption!!!
Hold on people! Keep the faith! While there is no end in sight, this could very well be it!
But for now, it all depends on how the prosecution team performs, correct? For no matter how far PNoy pushes our government officials out of their slumber to finally deliver us, the Filipino people out of purgatory, it will be the usual for all crocs and mini crocs.
For me, simple lang. Ang nakapasak sa imburnal ay si Corona.
Hmpt!
