I know Noli Dazo, not personally. But I remember Noli Dazo as a very active member of the Yellow Brigade. And while we were all campaigning for Noynoy Aquino, he was also actively telling everyone in our group that he was running for Congress; I remember it was on District 1, somewhere in Quezon or Rizal Province. He also wrote a lot of wall updates that he will be doing some solar project work somewhere in Rizal Province. I figured the guy must be a millionaire. Good for him!
Yes, we were friends. On Facebook.
When Noynoy Aquino won the election, I started asking the Yellow Group if there were any celebrations happening in the East Coast of the United States. Noli Dazo responded that there was one in New York. He said, he would be glad to meet me there. I was excited. But he did not send me the venue or the location.
When I asked him where in New York, he did not respond to my question. Instead, he told me he had a hectic schedule because he was flying to London, Dubai, Singapore and I believe, Hong Kong also, to attend Noynoy’s victory celebrations.
My eyebrows went sideways and I started doubting this man.
I did not get to attend any celebration. Instead, I had beer with my brother-in-law. Then, I deleted Noli Dazo from my royal list of friends.
Last Sunday (Jun 19, 2011), I received several FB friend requests. Two were animals, one was Jose Rizal, and another one was wearing a heavy sunglasses. I believe she must be on a witness protection program. The last request was from a familiar person who I used to chat with during the last election. His name, Noli Dazo II. Like Queen Elizabeth, there is now a “II” suffix on his name.
I added him back.
When I woke up the following morning, I was greeted with a host of entries on my Facebook wall. Noli Dazo turned my facebook wall into a bulletin board. He (Noli Dazo II) bombarded my wall with a lot of pictures – all of it were bearing the title “His Excellency…” blah blah blah! There was His Excellency whatever Manny Pacquiao. Another picture of Noli Dazo with His Excellency whatever Aquilino Pimentel and more not-very-excellent-pictures!
When I checked one of my favorite Sabah Group discussion, I was greeted by an entry by Noli Dazo II with a link that has this name: “US Ambassador Honorable Noli Dazo”… Here is Photo Capture # 2. I asked him a question: “Are you a US Ambassador, Noli Dazo???“. He did not respond.
I double checked the entry. I did not noticed that Merit Salud has already asked the question. I decided to check the previous comments. Here’s what I saw and read:

Who is this guy?!
I checked the list of US Ambassadors here. There is no Noli Dazo listed.
As Filipino and being a US Ambassador, don’t you think the Philippine media would not feast on his story? How come I did not read any news about him being a US Ambassador? How come no one sent me a memo?!
I posted an update on my wall.
Oh boy! I “accidentally” deleted “US Ambassador Honorable Noli Dazo (Spmuda International) USA” – Pray tell me everyone who has got the key – Is Noli Dazo a US AMBASSADOR??? I need to be clarified. Do send him this update from Reyna Elena.

I started researching about WHO NOLI DAZO is. I found these articles that bears the “Noli Dazo” name and re-posted them here:

Around this time, several other Filipino-Americans in California and Washington (Marlene Damolo Howe and Leilani Perez-Mallin ) joined my quest for answers from Noli Dazo. This time, there were more questions. One nagging question: How is he related to the Catalino “Noli” Dazo on the articles above?
As you can see, Noli Dazo claims that he is the “US Ambassador to Southern Philippines Mindanao”. Folks, Southern Philippines Mindanao is not a country! NOT! It is within the territorial boundaries of the Philippines. And the US Ambassador to the Philippines is Mr. Harry Thomas, not Noli Dazo.
Noli Dazo by proclaiming on Facebook that he is the “US Ambassador to Southern Philippines Mindanao” is an impostor. He even has the audacity to claim that he speaks for the United States of America in this message.
Tell me, have I just stumbled into something bigger other than a fake US Ambassador in Noli Dazo?!

HUwag naman po tayong ganyan…kung may pagkakamali ang isang tao dapat po nating bigyang kahihiyan ang kababayab at ating bansa dahil tayo din po ang babalikan pagtatawana lang po tayo ng ibang bansa…ang mga pilipino ay likas na mapag mahal sa kapwa bakit di po nating gawin yan…hinde po madadala sa ganyan,,kailangan natin ng PEACE and UNITY!!!God bless

Must say quite confusing in the extreme…
So, can anyone clarify: Is Mr Dazo an accredited United States of America ambassador or is he an ambassador of goodwill of some entity?
If the former, then fine, he can use and declare “On behalf of the United States of America”
However, if he is an ambassador of goodwill, i.e., not the ambassador of a sovereign nation, least of all of the United States of America, then to use U.S. before the title of Ambassador is terribly misleading and quite confusing to people like me. Moreover, to say, declare or infer that his is acting or doing things “On behalf of the United States of America” is highly, grossly suspicious. To avoid suspicion of malfaisance, I suggest that the individual, eg., Mr Dazo or whoever, show his US State Department accreditation that he is authorised to use eithe US Ambassador before his name or to declare “On behalf of the United States of America and that he is a bona fide United States of America diplomat.
Otherwise if he is merely an ambassador of goodwill for an organisation (which is no way a sovereign state), it would be advisable for the individual, eg., Mr Dazo or anybody else for that matter, to delete US before the goodwill title.

First of all, I was never FB friends with this Noli Dazo but a few of my friends are. So I was assaulted by his egocentric brand of posting when I visited theirs.
So yeah, it was a great irritation but hey, just glad it wasn’t on my wall. And then I noticed what Reynz’ is writing about here, US Ambassador? Ok then, watching this unfold and giving me pause as I get wind of articles bearing the same name. What the hell?
It got me where it tugged so deeply and then I find myself incensed. I had to ask the question on my wall. Who is this Catalino Noli Dazo? Heck, it’s a free country and my wall is MY WALL so if I want to put HUmpty Dumpty there, that’s my business!
I plastered those articles and the same question over and over again. The angst over this guy’s grandstanding has suddenly paled in comparison to what happened in the 90′s. But wait, IS THERE A CONNECTION? Could this be one and the same person? And if so, this Noli Dazo on FB has plastered everywhere he is running for office, so yeah, we can ask questions. And many did. And what did he do? Instead of answering them, he blocks them! And then he posts threats on his wall which I discovered is OPEN. I did not post on his open wall. Instead, I PM’d him. I asked him, ARE YOU ONE AND THE SAME CATALINO NOLI DAZO named on those articles? Funny, he attached the same article that he shared with me citing, I don’t even know this woman. To which I asked the same question again…His reply..( I am tempted to correct his grammar but I won’t).
Sounds to me he is admitting he is one and the same but objecting to the contents of the article…”it’s a demolition job because of MY achievements” What do you think?

After that PM, and seeing his postings on his wall offering $10,000 to bring Reyna Elena out in the open so he can sue, etc, I went on his wall. I addressed the $10,000 and I asked that he better put that in escrow etc. And just by the looks of it, it is akin to harassment and could be construed as bullying and potentially very harmful to RE (physically).
I mustered all the restraint I could to keep my post unconfrontational, just factual and to the point. I also mentioned that he too could be held liable for his name calling, promoting “hate” as he used the word F_G_T. Yes he misspelled it. And that, such a behaviour is unbecoming of one who boasts of the title ambassador(nope I did not give him the satisfaction of adding the grand accolades he gives himself constantly!)
My point to all this, is yup he has blocked me. And others on his list, no longer see that post so I take it he deleted it too. Perhaps someone took a screen shot. It reeks of one full of himself but completely unimpressive.

He received a honorary membership certificate from Southern Philippines Muslim Unity and Development Association Inc (SPMUDA) for attending a SPMUDA membership familiarization and peace development.
WTF? He’s the CEO of Solar Energy based in Las Vegas, NV? Is Solar Energy a business name? I don’t think so. That is too generic to be a business name and will not be approved by the government of Nevada. #1 requirement for registering a business name is that it should be unique.

There is no Solar Energy based in Las Vegas, Luneta. We checked already. There is one in Atlanta, Georgia. We called that offices, he is not the CEO there.
