I decided to check out Downtown Charleston today which is about 14 miles from where I’m staying or roughly 25 minutes drive. I’ve seen so many videos and pictures and how nice the town was. I thought I’d look for the Battery Park. Can’t miss it, they said. The main road is called Meeting Street. Ok. So when I got there, I was on Meeting Street, made a wrong turn and ended up in what appears to be a shopping district.
It’s a very nice street. It’s not a mall. But I could see that you’d find every shop that you see in big malls.
They have J. Crew
Abercrombie
LV
And Saks
Nah, I’m not interested in getting inside. That’s not part of my 28% living less in South Carolina plan. I decided to check out their French Quarters.
I was more interested in this…
Hmm… was this meant for me?!
Nginat-ngat nang aso ang isang pair.
Aw shucks! 90 degrees outside and people are lining up?!
Aha! So this is that famous Sticky Fingers! I wonder why people’s fingers’ get sticky here?
I was going to check the place out. But the smell of the cigar!! Hmpt!
I was smoking outside. I looked up and…
Ay caramba! Mamma mia! Mi favorito!
It’s hot outside! Pro’lly in the 90′s or so. People here are used to the heat already. I’m not. So, I’m perspiring like crazy. I figured, am sure mahangin sa boardwalk, kung meron man sila. So, I drove around again. Hmm… after a couple of blocks… I parked my car. This must be the Battery Park.
Like Philadelphia, Charleston is a very historic town. There must have been a lot of battles fought in this part of America.
“Take a picture! Take a picture!” shouted the kid to me. I obliged.
Nice car. You can park it anywhere. The 1st time I saw a car like this was back in 2003 in Prague.
Unfortunately, the wind was not cooperating.
It’s hot, but I thought I’d walk around and check these houses.
And if you noticed, most of my shot were click and run! Hahaha!
Really nice houses that lines up this street.
Back to the boardwalk – or whatever you call this. The one in New Orleans is definitely a lot more livelier. They have all sorts of street antics out there. Jazz players, music, festival, whatever. Here, it’s just this…
… and people walking.
… and getting their picture taken here.
Ganun lang. Taz maligaya na sila. Hehehe!
