It’s 97 degrees outside, tumatagaktak ang pawis ko, like the size of Gloria’s too much imported rice that’s drowning the Filipinos, while loading stuff in my car and going over my list, 1 by 1. Let’s see… need golf clubs, pang social climbing. pictures ni Jef? sunugin. credit cards? change name. frying pan, rice cooker, kitchen utensils: props lang to. wine glass, tagay glass: important. Curtains?! don’t need it: come n get it. Silver swan? don’t leave home without it. Bagoong? Must have. Panghilod? Pick 1 along the hi-way.
This is going to be a 12-hour drive and I must arrive there before 5pm, because the offices of the apartment complex closes at 5pm and I’d have to sleep at the parking lot for the weekend if I miss it. I miss my apartment in New Orleans, they have a security guard who will take care of you if you arrive in some unholy hours. Cheappanga lang kasi ang apartment na to. Hmpt! Kaya, when I grow up, I want to work for MWSS. They have 30-month pay. Imagine how many bottles of Silver Swan I can buy for that. And since they give tons of bonuses, those are gonna be bagoong.
My New Orleans story will continue. For now, pray and wish me luck. New job, new place, new people, another adventure and another story, and I pray it’s a good one. So, yeah, I’m moving to Charleston, South Carolina.
