I happen to have seen American Idol from the beginning. Early on, there were a number of contestants that I have come to like, like the singing cop, the provincial girl (Randy calls her “Country girl”) and then this one – Andrew Garcia. Here he is on his 1st audition. Watch and listen:
That audition song would bring him to Hollywood at the Kodak Theatre. I just love the rendition he made to Paula Abdul’s song – Straight up. Here he is:
I’ve never really followed the previous American Idol – the last 2 or 3 years? But I guess this time, I’d be following them for they seem to have a really good number of talents and at this stage, I’m rooting for Andrew Garcia, though I still yet to listen to all of them.

UPDATE:
Andrew Garcia just made it to the Top 24 tonight. I’m very happy to see him up there and will be rooting for him, although there was this 16 year old kid who was also equally good.
Andrew Garcia’s wife is Filipina. That’s his Philippine connection.

tonite is the nite for them – in 15 minutes and i am rooting for this guy and aaron and the blue’s guy and another one i forgot his name. wala akong choice sa girls, wala atang maganda run. i like the black country girl but simon don’t like her. she’s different and i think she’s good.
