This is blizzard number 2 this winter season. But this blizzard and the last one cannot be compared with the blizzards in the 90’s here in Philadelphia. One blizzard in the 90’s was even coined as the Story of the Century when the city was closed for 3 straight days. It’s not a fun thing to experience blizzard when you’re on the road although it’s a beautiful thing to experience that much snow.
Anyway…
I slept at about 11pm last night and it was already snowing. I think there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground. This morning, I woke up at around 9am and it was still snowing! I tuned in to the latest forecast and Philadelphia is going to get whalloped with 18 to 24 inches of snow today. I tried to go out and buy me some coffee, but it was blizzard conditions outside, you could hardly see anything because of the snow!
Like most of my neighbors, we would occasionally go outside and plow the snow. See, it’s lighter to plow the snow when it’s fresh on the ground. The moment you leave it for hours there with the rest of the elements, then it gets tougher to plow them for they get heavier. So, yeah, pretty much the entire day, I was making pala all day long up until about 7pm. The snow stopped at around 4pm. Around that time, the snow in front of our house was pro’lly over a foot!
This is also the time that kids are having fun and some out to make some money. They walk around with their friends, pala on hand hahaha, they’d plow your driveway anywhere between $20 to $40 bucks. Gawd! Kung alam ko lang! Sakit kamo sa balakang!
