I thought the Paano ba maging bayani question was good para ma-compare mo talaga bawat isa. So by process of elimination, kung sino ang winner sa question na to, tanggalin ko muna ang mga walang pag-asa saken:

Manny Villar:

Tanggalin ko si Manny Villar. I’m not impressed sa sagot nya na sya ang magiging bayani dahil he alluded na sya ang makakapag-lift nang mga problema naten pag nahalal sya. I thought the question should be answered deviating away sa pagkatakbo nya as Presidente. Hindi tuloy maganda ang sagot. I’m sure, na-throw off sya dun sa simpling question.

Joseph Estrada:

I will eliminate Joseph Estrada from my choices. I was not impressed at all by his response especially and I thought it was funny when he was asked on how to solve corruption. That was one weird question for him. Overall, he did not really perform very well.

JC De los Reyes:

I will also eliminate him from my choices. I am so not impressed by his response on Paano ba maging bayani question. Ako ang nahihirapang makinig.

Bayani:

The joke on Paano ba maging bayani question was good but it cost him time. Getting our acts together at gawin mong mabuti ang tungkulin mo will make you a bayani – nah. Hindi ako naantig.

Eddie Villanueva.

Tanggalin ko na rin si Eddie Villanueva. Wordy. Siguro nagulantang to. He’s used to memorizing things and now medyo nawala sya. I have no more idea what he’s talking – agree beholden ka dapat sa Pilipino lang pero that’s being nationalistic at hindi bayani.

I thought it was Noynoy, Gibo and Perlas who gave some good response.

Nick Perlas

Nick focused on prinsipyo at pananaw which is true. It’s a good reponse kaya lang kulang dahil being bayani is doing extraordinary work beyond what’s expected out of you.

Teodoro Gilberto

Gibo’s response is the correct bayani response. It’s using all god given talents and he mentioned the key word beyond the call of duty. Ang medyo na-off lang ako, and this is not by any means saying na hindi ko gusto ang military dahil mga pangkin ko andyan, but I am worried that Gibo always talk about military. Medyo nakakatakot ata ang eventuality na we’ve been under before ah! Is he trying to tell us “something”???

Noynoy Aquino

If Gibo brought the military in his answer, si Noynoy naman brought with him the church or Jesus Crist as his example which is a safe answer for me dahil Jesus Christ truly embodies… well… wag ko nang explain alam na naten yon. Noynoy focused on pakikitungo sa isang tao following the teachings of christ.

WINNER

For the BAYANI QUESTION, I’ll give this both to Gibo and Noynoy.

On the 3 Questions: JOSEPH ESTRADA

1st Question: Jessica Soho – Bakit gusto mong gusto mong tumakbo uli para magserbisyo or gusto mong bumawi?

Hindi raw sya nag-nakaw dahil the court was created to convict him. I feel sorry sa situation nya dahil he is running for President and he continues to be very defensive.

“Madali yan.” Political will. I have no more comment.

Overall, I’m not really impressed. I’m sorry.

Next was BAYANI FERNANDO:

1st Question: Jessica Soho: Given na dumaan tayo sa martial law, bakit daw tatakbo ang isang hitler, berdugo, kamay na bakal.

Response? Wala pa raw syang naipapakulong at naipapatay na tao. 18 years of service na daw sya. This must be in reference dun sa pag disperse nyang mga vendors.

2nd Question: Atty Victor Lazatin: Kalalabas nang survey nang Pulse Asia and with 1% rating and getting Lakas – will you continue to run habang mas kailangan kayo nang Marikina?

Desidido, pursigido at deretso. He has the political will. Pamantayan nang paglilingkod. He believes that Filipino people will understand him. Hmm… honestly, this was a good response kasi parang he’s saying it from his heart.

3rd Question: Number 8 : Ano pa ang iba mong motibo?

Kaligayahan nang lahat. Maiahon sa kahirapan. Mai-angat tayo. Mag-bago ang ugali. He’s got passion for building characters daw. Ewan di ako naimpress dito.

reynz November 23, 2009 at 10:11 am

Next was GILBERTO TEODORO:

1st Question: Kulelat survey. Mabigat ba na bagahe si Gloria Arroyo? Hindi raw. Kundi dahil sa kakulangan nang exposure nya.

Gibo is truly a good follower of Gloria. When he announced his candidacy and was asked if he will pursue Gloria’s wealth, wala raw yan sa agenda nya dahil there are justices to do that. Given na yong mga response ni Gibo to protect Gloria, expected na response yun. Kaya I’m not surprised na kahit si Gloria talaga ang reason nang lousy ratings nya, di nya maamin.

2nd Question: Mon Casiple. On insurgency that no president was not able to resolve. What is your final solution?

Matindi ang question na to actually pero tama lang dahil he was the Sec of Defense. I remember sa bayan ko noon, andaming detachment, an daming pulis, an daming militar, at mas lalo kamong dumami ang NPA at mas lalong nagdusa kami, so I don’t know kung militarization ang solution sa insurgency. Or misunderstood ko lang sya?

3rd Question: Maganda yung tanong dahil eto yong mga hidden wealth or dito nangyayari yong mga gaya nang milyones ni Mikey Arroyo out of somewhere kaya lang why would you froze their assets? Kawawa naman ang mga pulitiko hahaha! Anyway, agree ako sa last part nang question na dapat ang sweldo mo is pantay lang sa economic performance naten and I agree with Gibo.

Overall: I’m impressed with Gibo’s eloquence. Hindi ako apprub sa ibang sinabi nya, hindi ko gusto yong Gloria response nya, but he’s good.

I think it’s not being defensive. He is in denial of everything. He doesn’t understand the meaning of Presidential clemency. Clemency is not acquittal. Clemency is given only when one is convicted. You cannot give clemency to someone who is innocent. Clemency means that a criminal was forgiven on accounts of his crimes due to some merits acquired may it be political, behavioral or humanistic merits. But it doesn’t erase the fact that he was tried, convicted and imprisoned for the crimes he did. Could someone from his camp tutor him on the difference of clemency and acquittal! LOL

[Reply]

bluepanjeet November 23, 2009 at 10:20 am

I don’t think that militarization is the key to end insurgency. They took arms not because of the military but because of the sytem of Governance. As for the rebels, iba kasi ang prinsipyo nila.. i don’t know what but the only solution to that I think is a sincere peace talk. Ninoy was able to convince Huk TARUC to come down from the mountains, so why can’t they.

Kung mapapansin nyo, when GMA started as President Fresh pa sya, now she’s haggard too. I believe its the stress from running the country that makes them look exhausted and tired. If masurvive man ni erap ang campaign, I doubt it kung masurvive nya pa stress ng office of the President. He should rest now. This stress will really take its toll on his health.

i don’t know about the dispersal much. di ko nabasa masyado yun. pero yun ang napi-feel ko ki Bayani, mukhang he seemed to be true to himself naman, although di ko kilala masyado sya and i don’t know much about all these hitler stuff.

[Reply]

reynz November 23, 2009 at 10:48 am

i think he should really get out of the race, magkakaron lang sya nang problema sa health nya if he continues to do this, besides hindi sya mananalo dito, nag-sasayang lang sya nang panahon.

[Reply]

bluepanjeet November 23, 2009 at 10:50 am

Maybe it’s true na he never did anything that could stifle the human rights of the vendors and squatters, pero sya ang head ng MMDA eh. Its all over the news eveytime na may dispersal eh either pinapalo nila vendor o kaya sinisira at kinukumpiska ng mga tauhan nya mga paninda. If he is a good leader, then he could discipline his subordinates. The fact na di nya makaya imoderate ang abuso ng kanyang mga nasasakupan eh we can also assume na pag naging presidente sya hindi nya rin kayang sawatin mga cabinet nya. As a leader he should be fully aware of the business of his subjects. Otherwise he will just be like Gloria, focusing so much on work that she already overlooked the welfare of the simplest people on the streets.

On the 3 Questions: MANNY VILLAR

Aha! Eh si Pacquiao? :-) Hmmm…

2nd Question: Winnie Monsod: As House Speaker who impeached Estrada for using his position to enrich himself. At sya naman ngayon ang ina-aakusa to enrich himself. HAHAHA GRABE TONG SI WINNIE! Why should you seek the Presidency now dahil walang kaibahan ang kasalanan ni Estrada sa ginawa nya sa ginawa ni Villar. Hahaha! I want to be Winnie Monsod when I grow up! HAHAHA. Well, ang isang signatory dun was him. In essence, witness nya sarili nya and he vindicated himself. Hahaha!

Very broad. Puro give attention.

Sorry, pero I was not impressed.

bluepanjeet November 23, 2009 at 11:29 am

some lands are are not used for residence because it is meant for agricultural purposes and environmental preservation. If the reason is there is enough land for all, then we can assume that all existing lands, whether protected forest and agricultural lands or not will be used for the people’s residence, then expect for more landslides and floods and food shortage if he becomes president. The issue is population and not the conversion of land. Dyan na nga tayo nagkakaproblema sa land conversion eh because some geologically unstable areas are converted into residences and subdivisions — primarily because of the population growth. The more the population grows the higher the demand for land use.

On 3 Questions: Nick Perlas

1st Question: Arnold Clavio: Agressive platform and pro-divorce and how do you win the church. I don’t see anything wrong with what he said, am not saying na pro-divorce ako.

Ano daw?! hahaha! Charing lang. Anyway. I think ang magiging problema nya is how to connect to people. Mukhang matalino. Now ko lang napakinggan sya. True. If you go green, dapat kasama mindset else, walang mangyayari.

3rd Question: Number 5 – Anong platform, national security, corruption and education.

Ano daw?! :-)

Looked like he knows what he’s talking about. Mukhang matalino. Kaso malayong manalo to dahil he has to deal with the church and the other thing is how will he be able to connect sa mga common tao pagka ganito ang explanation nya?

1st Question: Vicky Morales: Kulelat sa 2004 pati sa Bulacan homeprovince. What’s the strategy to win now? Mina-ni-obra daw.

2nd Question: Howie Severino: Separation of Church and State. Susundin mo ba? Democrat daw sya at di nya pag hahaluin yan.

My general opinion. Ewan.

FINALLY: NOYNOY AQUINO

The bad news:

1st – I don’t like his posture. He needs to sit properly. Like a President. Asan ba si Kris at di tinuruan ang koya nya. You guys should look at how Gibo sat, ganun.

2nd – What happened to him?! How come para syang turbo charger sa bilis nang sagot?! I think he should slow down and focus on clarity. Mukhang kabado baka dahil sa time.

The good news:

1st Question: Wala daw syang accomplishment and that si Cory and Ninoy lang ang qualification nya.

Response? He enumerated the list of laws na hindi nya pinasa sa Senado or hindi pinalusot and to deliver the final punch, I thought this was brilliant na sabihin yang, ang definition nang accomplishment sa Senado ay hindi lamang base sa laws na nai-pasa kundi sa mga laws na pinaglaban mong wag ipasa dahil mapapasama ang karamihan. Para saken, that was an excellent point.

True. Equal opportunity. And I believe yan ang magnet ni Noynoy Aquino sa mga tao dahil hindi sya corruptible.

I’d say, I’m impressed with his response. I think he did great and provided excellent answers. Like Gibo, he is eloquent and he knows his stuff very well, although he needs improvement in his delivery gaya nung mga naririnig ko sa 60 seconds video nya where klaro ang delivery.

haha kaya napapagkamalan na autistic eh haha.

Let us admit that he is not really a good speaker like his dad or very composed like his mom. But definitely he has brains contrary to what others think. For me, eto lang sa akin ha, Gibo, Perlas and Noy made a good impression. the three have flaws but definitely the three made sense. You cannot communicate with ordinary people with that kind of delivery. Gibo is really intelligent but I am afraid of his too much leaning towards militarization… Noy is nervous. Obviously he is not used to this kind of public attention and pressure. But for a first timer, he did great. I’m impressed. I thought kagabi this will be the start of his downfall but I was proven wrong. He really proved that he has what it takes to qualify in the Presidential race.

[Reply]

reynz November 23, 2009 at 12:19 pm

dapat nga blue, they should make a stand on overdevelopment dahil we need to protect the agricultural lands. tandaan ko yang dyan sa south superhighway which was dating mga sakahan, nangawala na sya, pati yong sa bayan namen in sorsogon, puro na subdivision. dapat kontrolado ang development dahil maliit ang pilipinas at mauubos ang arable lands.

[Reply]

reynz November 23, 2009 at 12:25 pm

I think parehas tayo Blue. Those were the three who made good impressions to me.

I like Perlas dahil he knows what he’s talking about and although i don’t know the guy, sabi ko nga matalino at yan din ang napansin ko, he has to learn how to speak to common tao, else, pano nya maide-deliver ang mensahe nya kahit ganu kaganda?

I like Gibo. He acts Presidential, he is intelligent and he is very eloquent besides, prejudiced talaga ako sa mga magagandang credentials, i think ganun lang talaga ako. Kaso, denial sya na si Gloria ang nag-pu-pull sa kanya and I am also worried about his military responses.

I like Noynoy and I like the fact na he gave such excellent response given na he was being pulled down as autistic. Ngayon ko lang napakinggan nang todo si Noynoy like this and I truly believe na matalino si Noynoy on his own. One thing I noticed, sya lang ata ang magalang sa lahat and you could feel the Cory son in Noynoy sa pagiging magalang.

I agree. He did not come on too strong. I think that is his best selling point. People are not intimidated by him and for me this is a good characteristic of a leader. Assertive but not arrogant. Ganito yun, pag sya pumunta sa kalye at nakipagusap sa ordinaryong tao, People will not climb on his behind and try to please him, they will be honest to him kasi he is not intimidating o kaya threatening. Watch the vid on “noy’s 60 second” kung saan nadaanan lang nya yung isang teacher sa kalye and in that five seconds nasabi na agad nung teacher sa kanya ang concern nya about GSIS.

Problema kasi sa masyado authoritative ang dating, ang tendency ng tao is to please them instead of being casual kaya kadalasan hindi alam ng presidente ang problema ng ordinaryong tao kasi palagi papuri ang natatamo because of this aura. Kay noy iba. Very approacheable. Ordinaryo tao di maiilang sa kanya makipagusap.

this is only my observation. I hope the anti aquinos would not take this against me.

bluepanjeet November 23, 2009 at 12:43 pm

BTW, tama ba ako ng impression na yung last answer ni Noy sa bayani question was applauded by most of the panel?

[Reply]

reynz November 23, 2009 at 12:57 pm

Simple lang naman ang tanong na how to be a bayani (hero) and main gist lang naman dun is to do something out of the extra-ordinary for the many of course along the line of goodness and greatness at yun ang sinagot nung tatlo, si Perlas, si Gibo and si Noynoy and yes, mukhang well-applauded and sagot ni Noynoy.

[Reply]

Shen November 23, 2009 at 1:50 pm

Perlas is not a politician that is why he might have difficulties in trying to speak the common language hindi gaya ng mga seasoned politician na kumbaga alam na nila ang gusto ng tao. Perlas’ platform is anchored on 6 pillars which includes:

The first pillar aims to Eradicate Poverty and Enhance Quality of Life for all, through, among others, a vibrant broad-based economy, social justice and peace.

The second addresses the pervasive corruption that is tearing the social fabric of the nation and rupturing the hearts and minds of Filipinos. The second pillar therefore seeks to Advance Moral and Effective Governance in all institutions of society and all situations in life.

The third concerns itself with stopping the massive destruction of our ecology and our environment. The third pillar seeks to Uphold the Integrity of Creation and respectfully partner with it as our source of life.

The fourth pillar seeks to Build Partnerships for Social Justice. We want to introduce a new approach to real participatory governance and authentic democracy. No one can solve the problems of the country alone… tayong lahat ang kailangan upang mabago ang ating bansa. This means government working together with civil society and business in the pursuit of social justice and creating a better country.

The fifth pillar strives to Promote Creative Education and Inner Change. Better schools, colleges and universities, drawing out the many talents, intelligences, and potentials of students, are crucial. Equally as important is self-directed education and transformation. At the end of the day, it’s important to also address the factor of inner change—taking responsibility for changing our hearts and minds. No one can do our inner work for us. And there can be no genuine change in a system or institution if the people who work there do not change. Depressed, apathetic, and poorly trained people cannot create visionary and high-performance organizations, much less a world-inspiring country. Individual and cultural transformation are the foundations of the other pillars.

And then finally, the Sixth Psixillar of the platform aims to Mainstream Visionary Initiatives. There are thousands of promising initiatives throughout the country in a wide variety of fields that already point the way forward to another, much better Philippines.Innovation will be rewarded and will be systematicaaly discovered, magnified and multiplied so that these existing success stories will continue and spread.

Shen November 23, 2009 at 1:52 pm

Nicanor Perlas has done well in his 40 years of public service and if he had done the impossible even outside of politics then he will also do good when he comes in…

Kidding aside, I cannot understand why the majority of people who responded to all these surveys are consistently giving Gibo a low mark. It’s obvious that the guy is a leader and an achiever. If it’s honesty and integrity that they like in Noynoy, then Gibo too has unblemished record when it comes to corruption. Personally, I don’t know him before he was candidate, but by just seeing and hearing him talk, and upon knowing his credentials, I am convinced right away that he is the ONE!!!

Thanks Reyns for being fair in your appraisal of him.

Mas tumibay lang lalo ang suporta ko for Noy but he has to maintain his lead. marami pa siyang dapat gawin.

Gibo isn’t a bad choice too. yun nga lang his affiliation with Gloria is a big minus for me. promising yet disappointing.

Nick Perlas is way better than the other presidentiables. if only he is popular or has enough machinery to support his candidacy.

The rest of them wala akong comment. they bore me. LOL

It’s about time that we have a just but strong leader.

Sorry Reynz, now back to Gibo. :-)

[Reply]

danny November 23, 2009 at 6:36 pm

Association with a perceived plunderer (GMA) is bad. Association with a convicted plunderer (Erap) should be worse if we are fair in our assessment.

No, because I’m talking about the present. Noy and Erap is from different parties and they have different stand and opinion on certain issues. While Gibo is being endorsed by Gloria and he plans to carry out her unfinished business. I don’t like what Gloria is doing to our country right now so why let someone continue and finish it for her.

kung totoo man yong affiliation ni Noynoy ki Erap, it won’t stick and it doesn’t stick dahil poles apart ang Aquino and Estrada. Brand Aquino is about clean politics and incorruptibility and proven na yan from Ninoy and Cory and because of the image, people are magnetized by it kaya Noynoy continues to be very popular. Erap will be Erap and his baggage will just be his.

unfortunately ki Gibo, one good guy, intelligent and eloquent and there is no reason that he could not be a good leader, kaya lang he’s no listening to what the masses dislike, si Gloria, and that association stuck kaya problemang bagahe si Gloria ki Gibo and it’s so not fair for a guy like Gibo. Pinili ni Gibo to be with Gloria so risk yan na tinanggap nya. and the ratings says it all. kung talagang gusto ni Gibo maging Presidente, he should have not associated with her.

For me, I can feel that Noynoy Aquino gave the sincerest answers of them all. He is very firm on the issues of the government budget and very aware of the economic scenario of our government.

2) Perlas
3) Villanueva
