Bluepanjeet wrote one very powerful blog entry that elicited some very heated and fiery reactions both on Facebook and in Barrio Siete. In fact, (another) one FB blogger compared “Noynoy’s Campaign Ad” to a nazi propaganda.
Do we really have to go this low by espousing hatred and bringing in the Nazis? Election certainly divides Filipinos. In fact, relationships gets broken around this time. And if my blogger friend is trying to convince us to not vote for Noynoy, the Nazi comparison will not work.
The rest of the candidates have excellent credentials themselves. Gibo, the young Chiz, Loren, self-made millionaire Villar and the rest. They could stand on their own without plastering Noynoy the nazi comparison.
What we have right now – freedom – was one gift that all of us Filipinos should be thankful and be grateful about. Now, that’s for you all pro-Aquino or anti-Aquino. And comparing the Aquinos (or the Noynoy video) to the Nazis is just way below the belt.
I believe that all of us Filipinos, pro-Aquino or anti-Aquino, are longing for a better Philippines. For a government adhering to good governance, whose daily announcement should be about programs to better the lives of our fellow Filipinos and not another celebrated corruption story, drug-payouts, cornered government payouts, islands or embassy buildings for sale or another one of those ABC stories called ZTE. We all want our Philippines to be one with the rest of the progressive nations. We just could not decide on who is the best leader who can pull us out from this quagmire called purgatory.
Like Buraot, while I might have this dislike for the Arroyos and the Marcoses, I do not want to see them hanged in public or gassed in death chambers.
Espousing hatred nails us more in hell.
That shit called WORLD PEACE is so damn elusive.

why is it that some people think that if they can recite some passages from a book of someone famous, they feel they’re intellectuals?

The art of convincing?
But also, just to show us all how polarized we are and how polarizing this election is, as is the rest, as are the ones before our parents. We are probably the only nation on earth who are like this.
Reality is that, we will have to deal with whoever is the winner in this election. Or the loser.

I think it’s about time to take away our crab mentality within ourselves.
