Reyna Elena’s traffic is being re-routed?! Where?! And who’s getting my traffic??? Why? These are what caused my blood boiling today! Leche!
I am Reyna Elena, therefore I know how many chickens and pigs I have in my backyard, read: traffic. And I know fully well that this site has a pretty respectable traffic. But when I signed up for internet cable here in New Orleans, I noticed that I was losing traffic. At that time, I was still blogging daily.
And then, I started Barrio Siete. I have been so busy working on that site because I have certain goals to reach. And so, I temporarily cannot blog daily but have no intent to close this site. This will continue to be here. And I will soon blog daily given that Barrio Siete has been performing beyond my expectations.
But lately, Reyna Elena traffic has been steadily losing power. But the readers continues to go up. I could not balance the two or make sense out of it. How could I lose traffic when everytime I am on Reyna, I sometimes see double digit readers?!
Yesterday, I noticed something funky. I could not not even enter my site. I went to my other stats. I could see that I have about 72 visitors, online. It was typical. It was regular. I went to bed. I woke up and still, I could not get into my site. And so, I called Bluehost. I could not get a hold of them. I sent them a ticket.
And I still called them after I sent them a ticket because I was worried by now. Their voice message no longer says how many callers were online and how many minutes you were going to wait. I was determined to wait for 10 years. My blood pressure was going off the roof around this time. Fortunately, I was able to speak to one live agent who told me that there was no problem but said he will check. And he did. He told me that it must be my provider.
Around this time, “you’ve got mail”! And here’s what I got.
The issue is with a local isp in your area congento http://www.cogento.com/ what they do is route the internet traffic where your at. Your site is actually up you just can view it from where your at. we have contacted them and they are working on getting it fixed.

For one abno guy on shit like this, I don’t understand. Really. What I know is that, bagsak ang traffic ko but I still get the same if not more readers. What gives? Maawa naman kayo sa lola nyong abno. Someone explain this to me! *hikbi*

Hi reynz, I have just read about this unfortunate plight of yours. Are your Wordpress software, server, etc. up to date? I’m asking this because there is a possibility that you’ve been a victim of a redirect hijack if your security patches are not up to date. (or, sometimes, even if they are.)
Once they get into your server, they can add scripts that can reroute your traffic. Of course, this is just one of the possible reasons for your problem but one that should not be ignored. Please also check any ads that you might have. They might also have been replaced with that of the intruders’ so that any clicks or impressions will be credited to them.
This may be the worst case scenario but it pays to be careful. Take care mahal na reyna.

mami, when they say your ISP is rerouting your traffic, wala kang direct connection from the main servers of congento. so para dumating sa iyo yung internet access mo, jina-jump ka nya from another site before you get to the internet connection. sometimes, tumatagal ang “flow” ng internet kapag ganun, depende kung saan nila pinapajump. parang instead of giving you a direct flight, may stopover ka sa italy tapos florida tapos minneapolis, bago ka makarating ng new orleans – from philadelphia. so the more reroutes, the slower it gets, until mag-timeout ka na.
pero ang di ko maintindihan is kung nawawalan ka ng traffic sa site mo, that means na baka ang space mo sa host mo ang nare-re-route ang traffic before it get to your readers. so kung pupunta ako sa site mo pwedeng ibig sabihin kung saan-saan napupunta ang request ko for your url before it get to bluehost’s server and back to me. (para ngang multi-stop flight schedule) i wonder why they say na isp mo ang may kasalanan samantalang hindi naman lahat ng visitors mo eh subscribers ng congento? nasan pa rin napupunta ang traffic mo?

meron report last week na nagkaroon ng cyber attacks sa US and Korea at ang napasok nilang mga computers and sites (IP add) ang ginagamit to disguise themselves (faked and masked to hide their location) at lauching pad sa kanilang mga attacks. lahat remote access.
dapat sagutin ka ng malinaw ng bluehost at i-review mo contract sa kanila.
