Classes have started in Manila and all over the Philippines by now. Some schools are air-conditioned. Some are under the sun.

I know exactly how it feels to be back in school. For us Barrio Siete people, it’s the key to finding ways to improve Barrio Siete life. It could be done. Trust us Barrio Siete people. You only need to dream. It’s free. It won’t cost you a thing. But you need to make it happen. You must. Else, valiw ang tawag seyo.
For the privilege ones, it’s the name of the school. Others, sa abroad pa. In my mind, looking for a job actually starts when you go to whatever school you go to. Yes, Virginia, unfortunately, your school’s name matters the most kahit ano pang sabihin mong uber talented ka. Especially in the Philippines?! Na ibabalandra pa sa Sunday papers that only graduates of these named school are encouraged to apply? Amfooota! Ansaket nun! Hmpt! Pwe!
And then you graduate in college. Finally, matutubos mo na yong lupang sinanla ni fadir so you can go to school.
Of course, who would not want to have a secured job?
Kaya lang… Security Guard lang ang me security.
Pero, walang job security, Virhinya.
Narinig mo ako?!
Wala. Virhinya.
Wala.

Can’t do anything about it, andun na ‘yon.
Re job security. Ishare ko din lang the reason for quiting PJI is that unti-unti nawala na lahat ng benefits. Umalis nga ako wala man lang ako nakuha.

At tawag namin dun sa room na yun ay UTNT- short for Under The Narra Tree.

Haaay naku, you are right Reynz – typical story.
Job security? Ano yun?

speaking of job security…secured na secured ang job ko as the CEO of the family until naloka ako sa Twilight Saga na yan! Akala ko, I was going to get fired.
seriously speaking…in this economic crisis, there’s no such a thing as job security. we are all walking on egg shells. one time umuwi ng maaga ang hub ko, and for sure i thought he got fired. nakalimutan ko, me baseball game pala ang anak ko, and he helps coach the team.
kaya naman dapat we have a plan b. and that reminds me, i have to do my continuing ed para ma-renew ang license.
