While commiserating over beers and read these topic about professional doldrums, do, I need a Ph.D? But it’s not an option until my kids are out of school.Hehehehe! the more I know,the less I learn. To me, a degree is just a piece of paper, and one piece of paper is very much like another. That’s not to say that most people advocate doing something shady to get it–I’m sure a lot of the same people who see nothing wrong would balk at the idea of buying a “degree” through one of those horrible scam sites or bargain sale at University of Recto. But many folks see it as a transaction: you pay your money, you put in the time and work, and you get your reward.
There’s so many of that kind I encountered at Ellen’s blog pretending to be intellectuals,One bloggers from Japan mentioned that he had her master and phd from prestigious university in England.Hehehehe!
Tell you what,I earned my vulcanizing degree at Guzman and master degree in tire changing at Samson.I graduated cumakamlawde at UP( University of Pangasinan).Bachelor’s degree at Harvard (Harbor community college) Hehehehehe!

ay wala sya driver’s license kaya kulong sya! ewan ko wala pa atang residency visa kaya malamang deport yon. naawa nga ako. pumayag na nga ako sabihin na iba yong driver kaso kay husband si pwede. masama lang loob ko kasi naabala na ako, gagastos pa ako sa rent-a-car. actually, walang dent ang kotse ko kaso i turned 90 degrees kaya halos matanggal yong gulong sa likod. buti na lang inner road at may rampa kasi kung hindi baka umikot-ikot ako.

I am finishing my master’s degree at a ripe old age of 48. Why am I doing it? First of self-satisfaction that I can do it. Second, it would be a good example for my kids to aspire for higher education in order to master knowledge in any chosen endeavour and third for job security. I have so many classmates from India, Pakistan, China. They work while they are finishing their Master’s degree. What I observe here in Canada is that a lot of our countryman just settle for low paying jobs without aspiring for a better one. While I understand that they have to send money home but in their spare time, all they want to do is party and drink whereas they can take up computers or even learn haircutting and other trades. I try to encourage them to take up student loans so they can go back to school but a lot of them do not want to sacrifice their free time which they spend on socializing. If they decide not to upgrade, I wish they save their money so at least they can build something at home or even just earn more in investments in banks etc. I just hope that they become more ambitious and try to aim higher and not just accepting of their self-imposed fate. I use to work as a domestic helper so I know what I am speaking about. Good luck to all.

Along the same lines of moronic skeptical people, I once was at a group interview and met this guy from University of Nowhere. We introduced ourselves to each other and he asked where I went, so I told him, and he immediately had this huge chip on his shoulder. WTF? I didn’t say anything against him, but ok, I just dealt with it. He was saying things like “Well, I hear it’s overrated. I mean, the athletics are pretty good but I hear the East coast schools are better.” I’m thinking, ok, thank you sir for your insightful comments, but I just let them go. THEN he asks me (very competitively and antagonistically) what I study at school, so I told him technology and psychology.
This idiot wrinkles his nose like he just ate 4-month-old tomatoes and says “TECHNOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGY? What is THAT?!” Can I please take a small break to say that just because you haven’t encountered something before does not automatically disqualify it from being credible. GOD I WISH I HAD SAID EXACTLY THAT TO THIS GUY. Anyway, I tried to explain a little, very comfortable in my knowledge that this person was a moron for questioning something he knew NOTHING ABOUT YET I HAD STUDIED FOR A LONG TIME. I love his ending, though: “Well, I guess you can study that…but I really wonder where it will get you.” Remember, we had just met 3 minutes before this! I really appreciated his life advice.
When companies advertise that you could “Save up to 25% or more!!” Oh, ok, so basically you’re telling me that I can save anywhere between 0 and infinity. Thank you.
This moron even asked me to take him home and he volunteered to pump 5 gallon gas, Well,okey amigo i take you home but ,first let’s stop at Chevron and you pump gas, I made fun of him and then made him get out and pump my gas. I was feeling very good. Then he got back in the car and we continued driving. It was a cold night, so I had the windows rolled up and the heater on. By the time we got downtown, all of us mysteriously had pounding headaches. Upon further investigation, it turned out that my friend–the one I Was so happy about making pump gas for me and learn how to do it for himself–spilled gasoline all over his shoes, which then seeped into his sock. Apparently the smell of gasoline in an enclosed space for a long time is not good.
God I will mock these people until the end of time!!!

Hahaha! I only experience that school bashing back in the Philippines during my Barrio Siete days and I feel soooo fkin small when they do that. They always made me felt like it was so damn wrong that I ever went to this barrio university. West Coast school, East Coast school, there’s always these fights similar to the ones in the Philippines but honestly I don’t hear much of this though – except? Guess who? Filipinos. Why is that so? Why? I am already in America but I don’t hear this stuff from my American friends and officemates.

Happy easter mahal na reyna, palagay ko ceasefire muna don sa tanong mo sa mga silipers mo, holy week syempre kaya deep thinking, pero palagay ko graduate din sila ng UP, University of Pasakalye, kasi panay lang ang pahiging, malalim ba yung tinutungkab na tagalog ko, pasensya ka na kamaganak ko kasi si Franisco Balagtas, it means kailangang gamitan ng palakol para lang matanggal sa pagkakadikit yung nakalaminate na diploma sa university of recto.
