What I know is this:
- There is someone on Filipino Voices who is trying to sabotage me.
- There were people who checked my credentials coming from two sites:
- One from Manuel L. Quezon III and
- Filipino Voices.
Tipo bang, sino ba tong si Reyna Elena?! Kiver! Here you go!. That’s the problem when you already have a ready conclusion on a person because he is Barrio Siete and you have certain sets of definitive prejudiced columns to someone who speaks and writes a language so foreign and not so common from what you believe is accepted as the norm in the realms of your narrow world! Hmpt!
Favor returned
Suffice it to say, I did the same thing. I checked Manuel L. Quezon III’s credentials as well as that of the Filipino Voices bloggers roster of writers. Ginigul ko pa kamu yong iba!
Manuel L. Quezon III
One thing about Manuel L. Quezon III was that, tanggalin mo na ang social climbing factor avec moi, but at least, pag bumibira to si Manolo, he is putting his name on the line, me pangalan, “Manuel L. Quezon III”. That’s respectable of him. Why? It’s the willingness to publicly assume a responsibility. There’s a face sa mga birada. Hindi sya duwag sa sinasabi nya.
Filipino Voices
Some Filipino Voices bloggers on the other hand are different. Some of them prefer to be ghosts at pag bumira, anonymous pa rin! Why do they do that?! What are they scared of? Why would they hide from their nom de plume?! Even the ones who said their pieces here against me were anonymous. Bagong landscaped ba sila?!
Feeling intellectual
Some writers and bloggers at Filipino Voices are guilty of being pa-intellectual. Feeling ba. Some are so uber-napoleonic with their own opinions, think and believe in all their ass that they’re the only one that is all knowing, high and mighty and what they say and write sway the nation. They believe that whatever they say would help create national policies and every one in the tralala-land gets their piece of opinion!
Roster of writer’s credentials
So when I checked the credentials on the roster of their writers?! Mother of all fking fairy god mothers!!! Por juice por santu! Bloody disappointing! I thought, majority of them have impressive credentials that would send me to orgasm! I bloody thought, these bloggers were the crème de la crème of las golden empanadas and I would just ohhh and ahhh with their drop-dead walastik resumes! Leche! Hmpt! There’s even one FV blogger questioning my qualification for dabbling in politics! Of course! Now I know, he’s got one of the worst credentials I have seen and the nerve to even question me?! Hahaha! Check their credentials here and you tell me what you discover! Feast your eyes! Some of these writers attempts to indoctrinate you!
How not to gain authority
If you blog and expect your opinion to matter in public policies, its plain simple banana that you must have the capacity to give an expert if not reasonable opinion based on your education and your experience. Put it bluntly, anong karapatan mong mag-sulat kung wala ka naman palang background, experience and education at mambibira ka pa?! What’s the experience? Blog at Filipino Voices?! Write on your own blog where the only reader is yourself?!
How to cross over to the respected world
If you are feeling pa-intellectual blogger who want to cross over to the real world and earn respect, then you must have the maturity and academic discipline with a true college degree, couple it with impressive experience. Period! You blog about politics! I’m sure you’ve fought and asked about transparency from the government! Why not start transparency from where in the world did you get your credentials and experience?! Because that gives readers the sense of comfort as to what level of tolerance we can afford to give the writer during times of foul-mouth distress, for we would know what kind of intellectual you truly are (if indeed you are), what your perspective is and where your school of thoughts was developed. That’s just what’s fair and the right thing to do.
- How embellishment results in pang-ga-gago sa mga Pinoy: Charlene Gonzalez goes to Harvard University
- I showed you mine, you show me yours.
- A nightmarish experience with an elitist and homophobic blogger at Filipino Voices
- Someone on Filipino Voices is testing the waters to sabotage me by impersonating me
- Project runaway: Manuel L. Quezon III
- Thank you, Manuel L. Quezon III
I’m also going to Harvard University
I am attending a “fairly long period of” 5-day mixed-finance and tax credit investments chorva, hindi sya sa Harvard hahaha! Hahaha! Mga 4-5 hours away sa Louisiana. Then back Friday para fly to Las Vegas dahil I really wanted to get molested. Of course, makakatiis bang di ako sumilip here?!

Eto quote ko sha at baka palitan pa nya magmukha pa kong sinungaling: “He was also a part-time professor of History at the University of the Philippines-Manila and Dela Salle University. He also taught Mass Communications at Dela Salle University-Cavite and is now working for a big firm in Makati….”
Tonong nagbibiro ba sha? I don’t think so.
Well, I could be wrong baka nag iba na ang patakaran nila ngayon.

that was good Kutz and I agree, embellishment yang ginawa nang Patricio. if you go to his “other” blog, sorry no link – where on the side bar dun mo makikita that he claims to be professor yet yong proffile nya is only “baccalaureate” sumtin sumtin, in other words, wala syang masters.
so if this was how it was at DLSU then, they how could Filipino Voices label him or even call him “Professor”??? so much embellissimo!

Sa amin, we also observe the same understanding about the term professor.
Professors are usually the PhDs (sometimes, Doctor pa ang tawag – depende sa school) and those who have gained their masters.
Instructor naman ang tawag sa mga nag-papart-time or those who havent gained their post graduate studies.

Hi Reynz, as you know, I am the Editor Not Chief of FilipinoVoices.com, thank you though for your honesty. I do believe as a collaboration of political bloggers, the collaboration is still strong and respectable.
We don’t however limit our discussions and also open up FV to any writer and blogger, because I personally believe that the readers should be able to discern for themselves with regards to many issues..
We’ve also had you guest post once I think, and we thank you for that post.
In any case, I applaud your honesty, and will say publicly that your voice is as good as anyone else.
Just a brief note however, we do have a pretty healthy readership, averaging over around 1000 – 1200+ unique users, so it is not only the regular writers who do read FV.
But I do realize that your beef is with someone specific.. as I know Pat can handle his own battles, I will leave it to him to respond. I do respect all of the writers of FV, and this is a personal opinion on the writers..
Again, Reynz, thank you for the honesty, I do hope however that you can participate in the discussion more often, and I also invite anyone else to do the same.. If there are misgivings at FV, we are working hard to fix many issues, for the sake of the readers.
Personally, I believe that we still blog on Philippine Issues, whether it is you or I, or others, on the basis that we do really care for our nation and our people… I hope that we can just let personalities aside once in a while, and realize that sometimes the important things in life are not centered on self, but towards service to our fellow Filipinos.
More power to you Reynz!

Nick,
Let me put some simple things aside. But I will discuss this later. Readership – it’s sarcasm, satire and humor. Truth is, I have more readers than FV. But we will get back with this sometime.
I don’t aspire to earn your ire Nick and if I do, so be it. But, I have a certain level of respect for you, back during the elephant days. When you and I stood up against one OFW trumpling woman. Remember the fight? Malu does not have the right qualifications as a writer and so therefore, she has to be kicked out of the magazine. Right?
I now turn the tables back to you, this time – as far as some of your writers on Filipino Voices. Show me their credentials. You know and I know that some of these guys are talented enough as not to fall in the column of “dimwits” if I may use benigno’s words. Or “cheap” if I may use brianb’s words. But some of your writers have wits too. They’re just dim. Very, very dim.
You could be right, in some ways, yes, this is about personalities. But you’re wrong about my topic being specific with Patricio. You have a number of writers who are in the “Malu Fernandez” column without the right education, experience or credentials and so therefore, they run counter to what you have fought before. This is not to say that I am fighting for Malu. And these are some of the personalities you have at FV. But this is more than that. This is about education. This is about experience. This is about credentials. This is about a certain level of authority. Mga tiga-barrio kami who worked our ass off to finish not only bakalawreyat up to masters and executive education. When we write and talk, because we have what we got. What about your writers? The qualifications of your writers are ballistically-embellished. Read: they’re not real. They’re all probably fantasies. Lito ako kung vadush pa ako?! O sila na?!
My point? Very simple. What are the credentials of your writers? Let me repeat – if your writers can voice out transparency from the government, can question other bloggers credentials to a point of even doing some background investigation, then simple enough – Why not start transparency from where in the world did you all get your credentials and experience?!
Show it to us.
Or let them flaunt it to us.

Nick,
That number is not true and I very much doubt your claim. Parehas ba to nung claim ni Patricio Mangubat that his blog has 8.4 million readers a day na tinalo pa ang CNN in Atlanta?
Here’s the comparison of Reyna Elena and Filipino Voices from this site: http://www.cubestat.com/
Filipino Voices:

Daily Ads Revenue: $7.70
Reyna Elena:
Website Worth: $11,171.19

And on Alexa, Filipino Voices is not even in the top 100,000. I’m sure there are a lot of Tech Pinoy Bloggers who can refute your claim.

The lowest rank is instructor which has several steps yet before one can become an assistant professor. so it could be instructor 1, instructor 2…blah blah
Next to assistant professor is associate professor and then the full professor ship.
Before one can attain the full professorship, aside from the doctorate degree, he/she has to have articles and books published, lists of seminars attended as speaker, professional associations memberships and awards .hindi pwede yong MOST Behaved sa Class.
I put emphasis on invited because there are people whose academic credentials may add on the prestige of the college or university as someone with impressive roster of educators.
So if you have PhD, DBA, DPA, honoris cause excluded, a university is interested to have you even as part-time not as lecturer which is the title given to non-doctorate but a professor rank commensurate to your qualifications.
CHED checks on the profile of faculty staff especially if the universities are applying for new programs. Together with the proposed curriculum is the list of the faculty. The more titles there are as BS, MA, MBA, PhD, the better.

Hahaha! Meaning, Facebook is not counted, right? Hahaha This is the problem with some of these anonymous writers. They prefer to be anonymous probably because they have nothing to show off as far as credentials are concerned. Especially when they are the ones whose asking “what you got?”. i was called names, i was branded with tililing and my family was also disparaged not only by PM but some ,ale chauvinists who think that brain is a monopoly of the people from Mars…because I have been writing contrarian views. i believe that in the forum, there should be diverse opinions, otherwise it will become mutual admiration club, a blog of friends who agree on most issues and a blog to promote links of their own blogs.
True, my fuse is short because I do not express opinions not unless they are substantiated by facts. I am a research-oriented person and I would not tarnish the name The Ca t with some stupid comments just so my name is all over the internet.
I rarely comment about political issues. for me that is personal. I believe that you can not change the political color of a person.
kasi walang credentials.

Like you Cat, i have a lot of names enough to be one long, very very long entry that ranges from delusional sent by one mother, to one eternal internet drama queen sent by one PBA winner – pero kwidaw ka, I actually liked this one hahaha and many many more. I’m sure they will continue as I blog forever and evah.
I couldn’t agree with you more on the credentials issue as far as high-level topics like economics are concerned.
I say the same thing on politics, especially if you intend to sway public opinion, contribute to changing ang tilting national policies, being a role model for yong kids as a writer, one must have the right credentials and experience – something that’s missing from some of these Filipino Voices writers, who for the most part are so fond of name callings.
Ever read the entry by benigno about DIMWITS? That pretty much sums up my views about some of these writers at FV. Some have more wits than others. Others have wits too. They’re just dim. Very, very dim. But do we know benigno’s credentials? No. If you look at the About Page of FV, you’d see nothing. So, who is he to call some people dimwits?

reynz,
some people do not believe our credentials because unlike them,
we occasionally blog on what our expertise is.
most of our blogs are light reading ( kasimbigat lang ng feather )
because we meant to entertain.
however, the blog is written in such a way that elicits feedback, reaction which
could be informative to some people especially our audience which do not like
high falutin’ words o kaya too sentimental and too much dealing with deaths and sad stories that after you read them, bigat ng dibdib mo eh nag-exercise ka naman. hehehe

Cat, like what I said in my opening paragraph, these people
In other words, yong tingin at pagkakilala nila saken was just one barriotic punk and so therefore, I belong in the underworld.
Which brings me to some really serious flaws of Filipino Voices.
1.) They have no mission and vision. Kaya tingnan mo, labo-labo sila. Look, sila sila lang ang nag-didiskusyon. Sila-sila lang ang nag-aaway. If we take a contrarian point of view, titirahin ka nang mga dimwit, cheap crap. If I were Nick, I would not even apprub that stupid DIMWIT entry ni benigno. It smacks on the rest of matinong writers nang FV.
2.) They are not blogging as a “TEAM” at wala silang clue. In the end, pang-individual ang dating. By that I don’t mean na pare-parehas ang utak nila on one topic, I mean “TEAM” as in, leche, pare-parehas and entry taz walang mga kalatoy latoy, tatalunin pa ang entry nila nang mga tiga Barrio Siete Elementary.
3.) They only proclaim that they’re good writers dahil they’re from “THIS” university. Embellish, embellish, embellish.
4.) They have no touch and feel of their audience. As a matter of fact, ini-insulto pa nila ang audience nila. That’s why they don’t have readers other than themselves. Tapos sila sila din ang mag-aaway.
5.) They seem to proclaim that the nation picks up opinion from their opinions. Haller! Yan nga ang meat ko: what are their credentials to be such an authority?
Kung pwede akong mag may-I conclude, Filipino Voices is just there to satisfy some self-serving motives of some of these writers and I doubt very much their existence. They have to go back to basics. Anong mission and vision nang Filipino Voices? Birahin si Reyna Elena???

Just like Reesie, before I read FV, I take 2 tablets of Bonamine then 2 tablets of Biogesic pagkatapos.
Taking from a perspective of a reader, their high falutin english posts are uber alien to me. Seriously, the common Filipino understands the basic rudiments of English pero the high falutin ones?? I wonder kung sino kaya ang kinakausap nila doon.
I dont know if they know how to talk to their audience. I dont know if they understand their audience. Look at their posts. Look at the readability of their posts – ay sus, I need my Rosetta stone pa, para maintindihan ko sila. If they want to share their views about the current situation of our country, of our society – then they should know how to speak to the common people. Nakaka-alienate ang posts – tipong no barriotic people with stupid understanding of english allowed.
Kaya wag silang magtaka if other people are not reading their posts.
Then there is the DIMWIT article. And who is that guy to call others as DIMWITS – as people reacted to that Tsao article? Is he the ever knowing demi-god of knowledge? I dont think so. All I can see is arrogance throughout that article.
Then this freaking embellishment / parada of credentials with attached names of university etc. Haysus! Pwede ba!! Ampf! I dont like inflating credentials to a certain tra-la-la para maka-attract ng readers. Readers are reading the posts right? Even the honoris causa ek-ek will not save your damn credibility.

Reesie and Silver,
Actually, I was happy to see Nick came up with Filipino Voices. I want them to be successful. As I have said, I have certain level of respect with this guy, back during Malu days and there are writers there who are true to their form. But the lousy ones just inundates the good ones.
Filipino Voice is not Nick and Nick is not Filipino Voices, rather, its what these writers that defines Filipino Voices. If they want to gain credibility which they don’t have based on what they write, they need to back it up with credentials and we don’t see that on their About rather, About Face. I don’t think they will ever have the guts to even put it out there because I tell you, these bashers have nothing to prove. They have no credentials to offer. Nothing but embellishments of fantasies.
That’s why it’s IRONIC they call themselves Filipino Voices when they are nothing more than some cheap tabloid paper. I pity the good ones who refuse to rise up and kick the asses of these writers pasting crap on them. Sila sila nagsusunggaban. How else could you explain that? Dysfunctional family? Lack of leadership? Misguided ship? They’re tabloids rhymes with hemorroids because they’re a pain in the ass.

problem with some of these bloggers, way uber-opinionated, but i don’t think they did their assignments as we all have done ours. we have college degrees, we have masters degrees, we have executive education, we have experience and some of us holds MANAGERIAL POSITIONS in companies na hindi bala bala and we can prove it.

I got a chance to read Benigno’s Empowerment of the Dimwits. While he seems to have a knack at writing and can play with words rather competently, he appears to have some issues with the empowerment brought about by the new technologies.
Even as I agree that there will always be some who would use the technologies to the detriment of others (pollution, to borrow his words), one cannot refute the fact that the World Wide Web has leveled the playing field between the masses and the media moguls. I embrace technology – there’s no way I would yearn for the times of yore when a few people decide what is to be published and how it’ll be published. I like to be able to decide on what I want to read and digg the articles that I find interesting.
PS.
Dimwitted is offensive and a deliberate insult to someone’s intelligence. It is inappropriate to use that word to refer to people – lalo na kung ang gumagamit ng salita eh napapabilang sa “Filipino Voices”. As a Filipino, I do not want him to misrepresent me.

By the way, I saw the latest headline post by this Pat Mamanggubat… I’m from PR and I’m sure Pat has a long list of experience compared to me. I don’t get it when he claims that he is a “Crisis Manager” and “Strategist in Communication” and he goes ballistic with some commenter to the max. Embellishment with a hint of kupal will and contradiction.
Maybe he’s passionate on his topic (ginagalit nya sarili nya)
maybe he’s not the type taking middle ground (there’s a classy way to take side)
maybe it’s his way of showmanship (bashing commenters and pakitang-tao sa pag defend sa mga traditional journos so he’ll get favors from them)
Or maybe… he needs to consult a doctor (may pagka bipolar sa sa reaction)
I don’t know this guy, but I am basing my opinion on the records he make. He really needs some class act as a PR practitioner… he can learn a lot from MLQ3.
I just saw this ‘Filipino Voices’ and I’m shying away big time…
Parang eto yung motto nila: Vox populi (then goes to Kupal mode to their patrons…)
Ano ba talaga? I sense a lot of inwardness and some people have a big time issue can’t even be tolerant. Watak ang samahan nila. Sila sila nagkakainan. How kupal is that???
They should really get out of the ‘ivory tower’ and be in touch with the reality…

Just read The “empowerment” of dimwits, April 2nd, 2009 at 8:47 am by benign0 in Filipino Voices. Why waste precious time on “benign0″? That’s benign + 0 =
zero. He loves the way he sounds. He can be talking to himself all day and not notice. He likes to “twitter” no end. He wishes he were MLQ3. He likes Reader’s Digest Words of the Day: brainwaves, peer-reviewed, structured. Words that need to be “analyzed.” “Democratization of idea propagation.” Sounds like semen. I think he was referring to the Reyna Elena blog in: “the humblest of rags vendors in the streets of Mumbai.” I didn’t know you have readers in India! Now, I’m impressed. benign0 probably needs to take a hit of Ecstasy to keyboard a post. Don’t bother to apply if he’s hiring, he’ll ask for more than “a bit of thinking” and “a bit of substance.” He’ll want you to wash his underwear after submitting a substantive thinking post. I must say though, the boy can spell!

benign0 — ‘heckler of the politically-passionate’ — was born, raised, and educated in Quezon City then moved to Sydney in 2000. His Website GetRealPhilippines.COM was born in a hotel room while on an out-of-town assignment. It was inspired by the numerous Erap Resign! websites that proliferated the Web at the time.
benign0 is convinced that the way forward for the Philippines does not lie in politics, but in a deep, systemic overhaul at the very fabric of Filipino culture and society.
Having conquered Web activism through the written word over the last eight years, he is now honing his skills as a producer of short videos and publishes them through his YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/benign00.

This is not about personalities but if you truly care about the Philippines, then you will care about the quality of the writers writing at Filipino Voices. What caliber do your writers have? What credentials do they have? What experience do they have? Did you check them Nick?
Did you check that Patricio has a fake credentials with his Honoris Causa? Why do you allow your writers to embellish and fake their credentials?
If you truly care about the Philippines, then you will deliver quality to the Filipino audience and delivering starts from checking their credentials. Now, one of your writers who claim to be a Professor at DLSU has another blog and his top entries?
* RR Enriquez Nude Internet Pics
* Lindsay Lohan’s Nude Photos
* RR Enriquez White Castle Billboard on EDSA
* 20 Hottest and Sexiest Pinays
* Kim Kardashian’s sex tape (and why such stunts does’nt help Filipina actresses)
* Diana Zubiri still rocks
* Rihanna beaten up by Chris Brown
* Katrina Halili-Dr Hayden sex video?
* Pinay among dead in NY massacre
* Sexiest Pinay Poll Now On!
What’s respectable with this??? Explain it to your Filipino audience why we should listen, read and be awed by the credibility of your writers? Nick, some of your writers DON’T HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY. They’re fakes!

why are credentials important? isn’t the caliber of the argument enough? blog posts are short enough such that you can immediately see the quality of the argument (assuming there is quality).
