Someone loves me, someone loves me not
It has come to my attention na me mga tao out there somewhere who had began to have a lot of “interest” and “curiousity” sa credentials ko. I guess, knowing nyo na kung anetch ang ibig sabihin nyan noh? I don’t blame these “curious” characters. I know, weird nga siguro to be Barrio Siete and then biglang US grad. One thing I know, wala kaming kinurakot. I’m proud of what I have at kiver kung mahangin here, but everything I did was through hard work, dugo, pawis at sangkatutak na panlalait. My family name is not one of those yuppie-wannabe-feeling-dami-monie and act like they own Manila. Ambisyosa lang ang Reyna. Minsan, pantasyadora.
Undergrad: Whats’ in a word?
For a start, let me just point out something. I’m not sure about this, but maybe you can correct me. Parang merong disconnect with the use of the word “undergraduate” sa Pinas and the US. Sa Pinas, when they use the word “undergrad” it seemed to me na ang ibig sabihin is hindi sya graduate nang bachelor’s degree. Korak ba ako? Well, in the US, pag sinabing undergrad, it could either be that or more often than not, graduate ka nang bachelors. Intiendecitas ba tayo here? Else, let me know.
So what?!
Eh ano ngayon kung ang family ko are “toilet bowl cleaners”? I’m not happy with our share from the government BUY the people, OFF the people and POOR the people. Anong magagawa namen. Eh di kumayod! Leche! Kelangan lagpasan ang lecheng buhay na yon! Hmpt! And we did. Nang konti. Because my nephews and nieces are still out there in wild Somalian waters and far beyond as seaman and seawoman, a nurse in Saudi, a sister who used to be a domestic helper, and another nephew in between sandstorms up there in Saudi skyscrapers as engineer. Kaya wag kayong mag-taka why I could sometimes be ferocious when OFW’s gets attacked. Feel nyo?! Kaya minsan, irita ako sa mga bloggers dyan na nag-yayaman-yamanan and continues to look down on Barrio Siete people as if we don’t have any rights whatsoever and belong in the underworld. If I know, mga pantasyadora den ang mga to.
Part time lovers
To all my anonymous part time lovers, researchers, imbestigadores, at mga cheezmaks mongers who are looking for my vital statistics, instead na mahirapan kayo, dahil mabait ang reyna, allow me na tulungan ko kayo. It’s a fair game. I know. Sinabi ko yan. Pwes, here it is. Isang pakiusap. Please lang, maawa naman kayo, wag na wag ninyong ibabalandra ang mga grades ko! Hmpt! Sangkatutak na panlalait ang aabutin ko nito! Grrr!

If you want to check George Washington, you know the drill, you guys probably know somebody there I’m sure, I don’t know how it works with the university but my name should be on the registry. That was Contracts Admin leading to Masters in Public Admin, unfortunately, it was too expensive for me to go back and forth to Washington DC and did not finish the course. Why? Sosyal na ako. I stay at the hotel on weekends. Trauma na ako sa boarding house. I believe, counting all my credits, had I continued, 7 more subjects then I would have been ok.

Just ask them if they know the cutest Filipino guy that ever graced the beautiful Temple Executive MBA campus in the middle of one of the most beautiful golf courses in Philadelphia. Ganun ba Nina? Nice to meet you here. Sa kolehiyo ng Agham ako, Day, minsan cross enrolled sa enhinyero. Pinalad na makapasa sa pa raffle ng NSTA nung araw… isang byuti ang kinukuha per region at salamat sa training ko sa tagaan ng dahon ng saging at rampa sa mga talahiban, hehehehe, sanay akong magpambuno kaya wagi ang aking byuti.
Dee El Es Yu, here eye cum! Representing Region Twelb!!! Day, ako ang tinitingalang pinaka maganda sa barrio namin pero sa eskwelahang iyon, mistulang aliping sagigilid talaga ang akong alindog. Ampuputi ng mga estudyante doon saka karamihan naka wheels, eh ako? As in barriotic to da max ang akong get up, piktapos charol ang akon sapatos at eto pinka masaklap nung pers semester, wa ko knowing na erkon ang mga klasrum sa kaledz ob engineering! Day, ang byuti ko, na cryogenics ng di oras, na preserve without formalin, waaaahhhh! Pero matagal na yon, si Jun Limpot pa ang sikat na green archer noon, hahahaha!

Noong time ko lahat ng classroom naka aircon na. Uso noon – sneakers, shorts, straight cut na maong na nakatupi at walang katapusang giordano. Pero later on boot leg na ulit ang uso. Noong time mo ba may wendy’s na sa may kanto ng V. Cruz? Sabi ng brother ko wala na raw yong wendy’s. Na-sad ako kasi lagi kami doon… Tapos last time nagpunta ako, iba na rin yong aristrocrat canteen at yong college canteen pero amoy ulam pa rin, hehehehhehehehe….

Day, di kaya ng stipend ko ang Aristocrat nung araw kaya naga baon lang ako at may I secretly munch munch sa isang tabi. Pero paminsan minsan pag bagong dating ang stipend mula sa NSTA, nakakabili ng konti sa canteen. Pero di talaga kaya ng powers ko ang presyo ng food doon… Por eksampol. yung tig wawanpipti na turon sa labas ng Dee El Es Yu nung araw eh nagiging “banana frittes” pagdating sa loob at limampiso nah, davah? Dun na lang ako sa may karinderyang nakasupot sa may Rizal stadium, uhuhuhuhu! Sabagay, sa tagal na nun, di pa rin yata uso ang hepatitis nung araw…

Ay, di ko na maalala kung may Wendy’s o wala… Hay, naku, piktapos kasi ng school, drecho na ako sa bahay. Di ako makagala nung araw eh… wa datung. Saka ala din ako masyadong fwends kasi nung nag hi-skul ako sa kutang bato, alang Chemistry teacher yung iskol namin… eh ewan ko ba panong nangyari na yun ang pinaka mataas kung iskor sa test kaya yun ang naging major ko. Ang ending, double time ako sa lessons ko at least nung first year ko… … binabasa ko muna ang high school Chem textbook na nahiram ko tapos saka ko babasahin ang College textbook ko. Napakasakit kuya eddie kaya nanging geeky ang nerdy ako for the longest time evah kasi I also have to maintain a really high GPA or else I’d lose the scholarship.
Ang alam ko lang na artista na galing sa school na yun nung time namin (pero di ko kasabay ha!) eh sina Edu Manzano at Bembol Roco. Alam mo nag teach ako sa CKSC for a while before I got another scholarship for grad school which paved the way for my “I shall return” stint sa home of the green archers…Saan ka nag high school? Naisingit ko ang CKSC kasi halos 90% ng CKSC grads eh sa DLSU nag aaral…

Ano ka ba ipagawa mo sa recto para may copy ka. Alam mo hindi lang naman yong gustong mag-peke ng creditials ang pumupunta sa recto. Pati yong may mga orig documents na binaha, nasunog at katulad ng sa iyo na na-laminate na
Kasi ang lintek na school na yan pag nag-request ka ng bagong diploma, daming clearance ek ek tapos mahal pa. Samantalang sa Recto, kamukha rin noong orig, 3 hours waiting tapos na with matching seal. Tapos ang problem, may copy ka na ulit noong orig.

Uundergraduate naman talaga ang tawag pag BS, graduate pag Master’s and post-grad pag PhD gaya ni kutz at silver.
Kaya lang sa Philippine English en iba talaga ang meaning ng undergrad kaya depende talaga kung sino kausap mo or pano ginamit then you’ll know kung anong ibig sabihin nung undergrad na ginamit

The original CLC went out of business in early 2000 in SF after the dot.com bust.
We had some personnel who were enrolled in the computer program subsidized by the company when one day, they walked to the school’s location to find it closed.
only some old office equipment and furnitures were given to us for the advanced tuition fees paid.
The CLC now is a new one. notice the legal name.

Cat, pagdating na pagdating ko nang US, takbo ako sa CLC dahil I wanted to switch from accounting to computer programming.
Culture shock nga yong class ko dun dahil dun ko nakita yong mga nag-sisipsipan nang bagang sa loob nang klase hahaha
as in abno talaga ako sa culture when i arrived. ganun pala yun.
den, di ko maintindihan ang english. at teacher ko ang nagsabi to listen to the TV at gayahin ang pronunciation. dun nagsimulang magbago ang tono ko.
some of them filed bankcrupty, kasi yong iba hindi, so siguro around this time, tunaw na sila.

when i debate about the academe or education system, i noticed a spike in my cathcathprofile page.
When i debate about business, again, that cathcath profile page is accessed several times that it appears prominently in the google page.
before, i do not put my academic background but when there are people who start lecturing me about economics and accounting…that’s the time I put my degrees in my profile. Not to intimidate them but to warn them that I can talk to them about these subjects without using wikis.

Sa akin kasi, hindi mo kailangan ipakita pa ang sangkatutak mong diploma, medalya o kung ano pang achievement. I mean, what for pa di ba? Ano yun, ego-tripping sa blogs?

Yun mga nag-iimbestiga na yan eh baka nga talagang inaalam nila ang credentials ng taong hindi umaayon sa opinion nila.
Masyadong nabababad sa EXPERTISM yung ilan. Feeling e EXPERT sa paglagay ng credentials sa kanilang balay para ipakita sa tao na heto kame, ganito kame kagaling blah blah, kami ang KNOW-IT-ALL-PANGINOON blah, blah, sa akin ka lang makinig blah blah. Ang panget talaga.
Chinecheck nila malamang ang taong hindi umaayon sa sinasabi nila para malaman kung lesser or greater pa ang credentials ng taong yun kesa sa kanila. Kasi kung lesser kuno ang credentials ng taong yun compared to theirs, tataas na ang ihi ng mga yun at kung ano ano na ang sasabihin.
Pero wag ka, pag mas mataas ang credentials (at mas SUBSTANTIAL pa nga) kesa sa kanila, eh di ano sila ngayon, mga TAMEMENG TALANGKA.
Ako? No need to make display of my laminated diplomas at sinupot na medalyas dahil I’ll let my blog speak for myself. A blogger’s credibility is established on the blog posts he or she produces. Dun pa lang, malalaman mo ng credible or entertaining ang blogger na yun. At kung pretentious ba o authentic.
