In Zimbabwe, everybody is a billionaire.

In Zimbabwe, everybody is a billionaire.
money_in_zimbabwe_10
Everybody.

money_in_zimbabwe_12
Did I say, everybody? I think I did.
money_in_zimbabwe_7
Here’s one. Look! He’s happy. He’s got roughly $10 USD. About 60 million.
1224841190_zimbabwe_06
They stopped counting monies. They weigh them.
money_in_zimbabwe_11
So for a bottle of beer, this is how much you need to bring.
money_in_zimbabwe_8
Lots of money. What would you do when you have 100 billion dollars?
1224841304_zimbabwe_17
Well, 100 billion dollars can buy you three (3) eggs.
1224841190_zimbabwe_18
This is Mugabe. This asshole ruined Zimbabwe’s economy.
1224841190_zimbabwe_16
So, a loaf of bread in Zimbabwe, will cost you billions and billions of dollars.
1224841190_zimbabwe_24
If you go out to dinner? This is typically how much you pay:
1224841190_zimbabwe_20
You want candies in plastic? You need anywhere between 6 to 15 million.
ZIMBABWE PRICES
Vegetables? You need a truck. Not for your vegetables. But for your millions.
money_in_zimbabwe_4
Live chickens? Yeah….. millions.
money_in_zimbabwe_6
And this is how your salary would look like.
money_in_zimbabwe_9

Runaway hyperinflation

Zimbabwe’s inflation soared to more than a million percent. How does 231 million percent of inflation sounds to you? High? It is still going up! Now, according to independent analysts, the country faces a bleak future ahead. Well, hellooo! At 231 million percent inflation? You don’t need an analyst to tell you about how bad the future is gonna be.

Runaway hypercorruption

What about us in the Philippines?

Because in essence, you are printing money out of debt. You are creating money out of debt.

Way below pa sa mentally retarded.

Grrr…

I asked my dad..

please explain what happened!!!!!!!! (tamad hahaha)

[Reply]

reynz Reply:

maybe i should do another blog entry to explain what happened in Zimbabwe. its a combination of a leader who knows nothing economy, stupid and engot like what Silver said.

it all started when the government decided to grab lands back from white minorites and gave it to black people without just compensation. wait – without compensations. worse? these blacks did not know how to run the farms so output came to a halt. what is output? GDP. rememer this country used to be wealthy.

the loss of property rights gave way to the loss of banking to the loss of trust

then sometime in 2003, they started printing money.

i’ll just explain what happened in the next entry if i have the time kasi busy ako this week.

I dunno kung ayaw nila or what…parang nagkaissue sila about production and other chorvalais…

By the way, confirmed ngang wala na ang Indonesia sa OPEC. Naging issue daw ang production chorvalais:

From Wikipedia.com:

In May 2008, Indonesia announced that it would leave OPEC when its membership expired at the end of that year, having become a net importer of oil and being unable to meet its production quota. [12] A statement released by OPEC on 10 September 2008 confirmed Indonesia’s withdrawal, noting that it “regretfully accepted the wish of Indonesia to suspend its full Membership in the Organization and recorded its hope that the Country would be in a position to rejoin the Organization in the not too distant future.

Pero I doubt it.
