What’s the buzz?
Hillary Clinton was finally confirmed by the US Senate as Secretary of State. Now, the drama switches to New York.
Why did it took them this long to confirm Hillary?
It’s the lingering concern by some Republicans that her husband’s charitable fundraising overseas could pose conflicts of interest. Sen. Richard Lugar, the ranking Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee, proposed that former President Bill Clinton’s foundation reject foreign contributions. But Hillary Clinton rejected Lugar’s proposal, contending that the foundation’s plan to disclose annually its list of donors and a range of its contributions already exceeds legal requirements. But, Lugar said, he hoped Clinton would re-examine her position but supported her appointment, citing her “remarkable qualifications” and “pressing global issues.”
Will Caroline Kennedy get Hillary Clinton’s job?
Well, not anymore. And I’m quite disappointed. I really, really wanted to see Caroline Kennedy in the Senate. (I wished JFK, Jr. was alive! Grrr!) Now, Caroline, the daughter of a former president whipped up excitement and controversy during her open campaign for the New York Senate seat. She has now withdrawn her intention. In a recent poll by Quinnipiac University though, 37% of those surveyed said Ms. Kennedy would make a good senator, while 40% didn’t. About 48% of those who responded said Ms. Kennedy wasn’t qualified for the job. Mr. Cuomo, son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo, was ahead among voters, 31% to 24%.
Ms. Kennedy’s decision is a deflating ending to her courting of the position after having spent much of her high-profile life in carefully guarded privacy. Which really is typical for the Kennedy’s. They want their privacy and if you go into politics, that won’t work. Now, while she has said President Barack Obama’s political emergence had awakened her desire to serve — she likened him in some ways to her father — she also didn’t have much traditional political or any legislative experience to prepare her for the job.

matindi rin kasi ang mga kalaban nya. besides, nung lumabas yong survey, mukhang ayaw sa kanya nang mga tiga-New York, not that ayaw nila ki Caroline per se, but rather, wala kasi syang experience in government. which she has shown already. nung inatake na sya nung mga contenders na iba, medyo nag-iba ang hangin sa Kennedy camp. di talaga pwede si Caroline. kelangan kasi kapalan nya mukha nya and she’s not that.

I’ve always like Hillary. I read her book “It takes a village” and admired her advocacy for children. She would have become the first lady president also. It just so happened the Obama have an overwhelming support from the people. I just thought that people were more excited to have a first black president than having a first lady president. I also hope that people supported Obama because he and his policies are good, not because he is a colored man.

Caroline- hmmm, she has the Kennedy name, the wealth, the education but she needs to be trained in Politics, wise decision to pass the Senator seat this time.
Palin – she needs a lot of work and if she puts her head into it and she gets the support of the Republican, (forget whatever happened with McCain campaign) I think she will be a very wise servant to the people of the USA, she needs to get out of Alaska, come to California, so she can be in the thick of the melting pot

Palin believs na mas evil si Keith Olbermann ki Katie Couric. She believes na ginamet lang sya, which is true also. Like Couric, pabagsak na yan si Katie eh, kundi dumating si Palin, indi uli sisikat. Kaya maligaya lola mo.
