If you are new to this blog, understand na tumatanggap to nang political donations. Yeap, mas malaki mas better ang chances for endorsement nang reyna, pero bawal po talaga umihi dito, and neutered po ang blogger na to pagdating sa mga kandidato. We’re doing a political santacruzan considering na nagsusulputan na ang mga presidentiables for the coming big chorvalais in the Philippines come 2010. Yeap, that early. So, here’s our next Mr. World Peace candidate:
Manny Villar, a successful businessman, turned congressman, turned senator, who has gained popularity or notoriety as kind of centrist, non-partisan leadership. That or too much politics to others. To make things easy to readers, Manny Villar (http://www.mannyvillar.com.ph/) has a nice website that chronicles his life from selling shrimp, to going to the University of the Philippines, working for SGV, starting a business with Php10,000, becoming a housing developer/builder and then a Senator.
As early as last week lang, naghahanap na nang Vice Presidential partner si Senate President Manny Villar who considers Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia a ?strong potential running mate? for the 2010 presidential election. Kaso, ?I cannot find myself leaving Cebu for anything?not for money, nor for fame, nor for greatness. Not even for higher office. My fellow Cebuanos, I am here to stay.? says Gwen.
He’s not immune to controversies, like the the road to nowhere. Remember that C5 controversy when Lacson filed for an investigation? But this time around, you think the road will finally lead to Malacanang?
My question to you now is this:
Follow reyna elena’s political santacruzan!

I think Villar is really gearing up for the Presidential fight – and will probably face tough opponents like Loren Legarda and probably Chiz Escudero (if ever he’s gonna run).
There’s no doubt the 2010 Presidential Election will be one of the most interesting election – with probably more than 5 Candidates. Pag nagkataon – sasaya mga bloggers nito, hehe.

hahaha i was just checking my list of those wannabes and possibles and i can’t believe my list is this long! grabe pa ang ibabalandra ko hahaha! with these too many candidates, labo labo to! dis-organized talaga which is why mas preferred ko yong 2 party system dito, where merong primary at dun pa lang tugizan na nang plataforma and everything, unlike this one, wala pa silang issues and platforms so for now ang labanan looks more like personality basis again. yet hopefully as we come close, we could narrow down kung sino sa kanila ang ifofocus naten.

election season na nga talaga. on one hand, it shows how politicized pinoys are. on the other hand, natatabunan din naman ng eleksyon ang iba pang mga isyu (like GMA’s corruption etc). hay, pulitika na nga eh pinupulitika pa. hehe.

like Binay, Gordon, and Fernando. Villar’s spouse is also a congresswoman of Las Pinas. Aside from that she comes from the old political clan of Aguilar where the mayor is also also a relative.
They’re just damned lucky that the AYALA developed that area from Muntinlupa to Zapote.

If destiny will say, it’s him then be it. In the present crop of pretenders, there is nobody who has the charisma to unite us and led us to that “road to nowhere” este greatness pala.
Boycott nalang tayo come 2010!

Update: Villar resigns as Senate President

MANILA, Philippines ? (UPDATE 4) Senate President Manuel Villar has tendered his resignation.
At the start of the session, Villar said he was vacating his post after learning that he no longer had the support of majority of the chamber.
He said he would be replaced by Senator Juan Ponce Enrile.
Radio dzMM said 14 senators voted in favor of Enrile while five abstained.
?The tenure of the SP as everyone knows depends on the number of members that supports him or her? Villar said.
“I’ve been informed this afternoon that I no longer have the support of the majority members. I now, therefore tender my resignation,” he said.
?I congratulate the new Senate President, honorable senator Juan Ponce Enrile,? he said.
“You, Mr. Senate President have my support,” he said.
The session was suspended briefly after Villar?s speech.
After Villar stepped down, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano resigned as chairman of the blue ribbon committee to pave the way for a possible reorganization of the committees, according radio dzMM.
Senator Aquilino Pimentel Jr. has also resigned as minority floor leader.
Senator Jose ?Jinggoy? Estrada presided over the session.
Senator Panfilo ?Ping? Lacson immediately took the floor and nominated Enrile as the new Senate President.
Lacson’s motion was seconded by Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan.
Except for Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, all senators were present at the session hall.
In an interview with reporters, Lacson said the C-5 road controversy, which implicated Villar triggered the movement in the upper chamber.
He said the ouster move against Villar was a “work in progress” since then.
“How did it happen? It was actually work in progress for so many weeks ever since the double entry,” Lacson told reporters.
?You know if there is perception that the Senate leadership is damaged because of the C-5 controversy, most of the members, the majority at least of the members of the Senate, will be thinking that the whole Senate could be affected,? he said.
Lacson said they only reached the number needed to oust Villar only this Monday noon.
