The woman who is a heartbeat away from the US Presidency was essentially a disaster with the Katie Couric interview. That?s Gov. Sarah Palin. She was brilliant during her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention but those little interviews she gave after the convention, has been eating that brilliance away, literally.
I admired Gov. Sarah Palin during her performance at the national convention and I wanted some more. However, the Katie Couric was one of those disasters. Why was it a disaster? If you saw the video, you probably knew already. But, I?ll give you examples from this interview:
She was asked by Katie Couric if there were any other Supreme Court ruling that she does not agree with. Ok, guys. I?ve been an American Citizen for many years now, and I could not mention one myself, although I?m sure, there?s got to be one out there of which I dis-agree. But I am not a Vice-Presidential candidate on a job interview! During my own job interviews, I studied and read literatures about the company that I was interviewing for. I guess, it?s just fair that Gov. Sarah Palin should read about federal legislations and more, don?t you think?
She was asked about the historic Roe vs. Wade which was essentially abortion vs. pro-life; a very, very sensitive issue in America that sometimes could literally break friends and families. She disagreed with Roe vs. Wade and that according to her, this is better handled on a state level, meaning, this is a state issue.
Inconsistencies
- ) She claimed she is a federalist.
- ) She claimed she favors the right to privacy which was essentially the reason why Roe vs. Wade was passed.
I?m worried about Gov. Sarah Palin because she talks in a very, very general way. In tonight’s debate, I expect Senator Biden to perform very well, considering that the Senator is a well-seasoned politician and I could almost guarantee that he will rule the platform.
What scares me is that, if this Vice-Presidential debate goes into specifics and the particulars of all the particulars (which I suspect, it will), then I could almost see a repeat of Gov. Sarah Palin’s performance with that of the Katie Couric interview. Will she redeem herself?
Considering that John McCain is now 72 years old, give it 4 years of presidency and he?d be 76, what happens if what we don?t want to happen happens?

oo! kahit na politicized ang mga tao here, kaiba sa pag-ka-politicized nang mga pinoys.
here, talagang kikilatisin ka nang tao and they will take you very seriously but also give you the chance to prove yourself.
kaya when Sarah Palin stormed the political scene, leche! an taas nang ratings nya! tinalo kamo si Obama! so the expectations were really very high, minsan naaawa ako ki Sarah Palin.
but when those little interviews started, dun nakilala nang tao si Sarah Palin and the change in ratings were drastic and fast. nag-laho ang popularity ni Sarah Palin, balik na naman si Obama on top of the polls.
ang sinisisi dito is McCain. ginamet nya si Palin. meron naman kasing matalinong pwdeng kunin like Lieberman. Ayaw nang lolo mo. Ayun, nag-iinit tuloy yong ka-party nya sa kanya.

Lam mo that’s true. Though Im not a US citizen pero youtube and the media has been bombarding the webn and tv with anti McCain sentiments coming from the stars. Matt Damon has already said his piece while susan sarandon said in an interview: “I just know that Jesus Christ is a community organizer, while Pontius Pilate was a Governor” haha pang asar ano?

In fairness, to her credit, magaling pa rin si Sarah Palin, napasubo lang sya and she’s trying to do the best sa situation na ipinasok sa kanya, although, she could have said NO sa offer in the beginning. kaya what she can do at the moment is to do her best, kahit na nga the best is not enough.
I still like her though, and give her some time, she’ll be good dahil fighter sya.
Kaya lang i still don’t buy her stand on foreign policy, on gay rights issues and on the economics. Aba, kung pag-aralan nya yun, am sure makukuha nya yan.

and she was chirpy hahaha! di mo naman talaga masisi si Palin sa foreign policy, the most that she did was rely dun sa coaching na ginawa nang party nya hahaha kaya all her responses were very general, irita ako dun sa tira nya ki obama na “bad judgement” daw yong maki-deal sa Iran considering na halos boung European leaders na ang nag-sasabing, pag-usapan nyo na nang Iran ang problema nyo. leche!!! hahaha! mali yong sinabi ni Palin. alam ko yon! hahaha! nataranta siguro!

Yeah she’s really charming though. She has charisma talaga. Her accent is a plus. Nabigla sya eh.
Para bang McCain just picked her from nowhere. Sana may adviser sya sa mga issues para naman kahit papano di off tangent iba sagot. Alam mo at least hindi sya nagbackout sa debate.

Pero reynz I like her fighting spirit ha. Hindi sya bumibigay kahit na mamatay matay na sya sa kakatingin sa cue card nya. Buti na lang may podium. This woman is really a fighter. She just needs to be oriented. Dapat nagsenador muna sya no para yung awareness nya sa laws, economy and national issues eh ma widen kasi kahit ano ifeed ng coaches nya sa kanya if she never encountered the issues first hand eh wala din.
Mabigat itong kalaban nya na si biden kasi well experienced. ang laki ng disparity ng frame of mind nila when it comes to delivering their rebuttal. Biden sticks to the facts while Palin sticks to getting the sympathy of the voters, always mentioning her experience as a governor and mayeor and why people should vote her and Mc Cain

i agree, tamang tama Governor na sya, logical move yong pagiging Senador and I think she will be very effective dahil magaling sya when it comes to Energy and things that matters sa working moms. Indi pa to ang panahon ni Palin, i hope wag syang mag-quit dahil bihira sa Women in politics na gaya niya and Hillary.

oo kasi kaya di nya masagot ng husay yung mga tanong at palagi sya bumabalik sa energy at pagiging governor nya kasi andun yung cream of the crop of her experience. Ano nga naman ang isasagot nya sa foreign policy eh hanggang russia lang ang tanaw ng mata nya mula sa bahay nya haha.
