4th & final job interview in Chicago and the Presidential debate

by Rainier on September 29, 2008

“Message to blogfriend who’s doing MBA at a univ in QC, I finished the EVA/ROA, but your email kept bouncing. I hope you read this. Please email me at ofwcenter@gmail.com! Reynz”

9/26, Friday at 4:30 pm, I was stucked at Chicago?s Midway Airport. This was my last leg of several job interviews that started in Boston, another drive to Washington, DC and flying back to Chicago for a downtown interview.

I?ve waited for the 1st Presidential Debate. Our dear grandpa could not make up his mind. Lining up at the security gates of the Philadelphia International Airport, I could see on CNN that, “to appear or not to appear, that was the question”. What can you expect from McCain, he?s a forever flip-flop, can?t make up his mind because ?I?m fighting for America!?. Ok, stop the fight Grandpa! Just drive down to Mississippi, ok?

At the airport, I moved closer to the TV monitor.

?Investment banker?? asked my seatmate.

?Investment, yeah. Banker, Nah. I?m a percentage in that stupid Bush unemployment rate.?, I said.

We talked about Wall Street meltdown, real estate greeds, McCain?s erratic responses on key economic issues and a lot more.

?And you?? I asked.

?I?m a freelance graphics facilitator.?

It?s a talent, ladies and gentlemen. One heck of a talent. In a live conference, he?s the guy who sees these ideas and transforms them into a visual map, a great way to generate discussion. How? Literally and manually drawing the discussion. In person. Not a software.

Keith Bendis. He was flying to Albany, New York. His website: http://www.keithbendis.com Very nice guy. I had a wonderful and great, political and business conversation with this gentleman. I told him, I’m blogging about this. He said, he’ll visit. So, this is in English. Hahaha!

This was my 4th and final interview and it was a good one. They offered me the job which means, I will have to move to Chicago. Will I accept? I have a week to decide. At least that would give me time to wait for Washington DC to make an offer. Philadelphia did not call anymore. Boston? I like the city, but I don?t like the job responsibilities.

It was a long flight, 4pm at Chicago?s Midway and back to Philly at about 11pm. A 2-hour flight with many hours of counting the people at the terminal. Why in the world did I not bring my darn laptop!

Meanwhile, I was happy seeing the CBS News poll, uncommitted voters see Barack as the debate winner. When it comes to the economy, 66% say Barack would make the right decisions versus 42% for McCain.

The CNN poll results were much clearer:

Who did the best job tonight?
Barack: 51
McCain: 38

Who would better handle Iraq?
Barack: 52
McCain: 47

Who would better handle the economy?
Barack: 58
McCain: 37

John McCain was not a happy man. Mississippi was his turf. Obama owned it. While I?m close to finding a job, Obama is still slugging it out.

It will be interesting what will happen this week. Will I find WORLD PEACE in my job hunting job? Let’s see.

and while there is a high unemployment rate, the CEOs of the financial sector which created the mess in Wallstreet and the meltdown of the economy will be receiving their huge golden parachutes courtesy of the US taxpayers when the bailout plan is approved.

paalis na lang isinanla pa ang mga tao.

Congratulate yourself,as a taxpayer, you are the owner of BAD DEBTS, worthless securities, foreclosed houses and dying corporations.

and PALIN thought that the bailout is about healthcare.

I really enjoyed watching the face of katie Couric while interviewing the VP candidate. Priceless moments.

Aayy rap-up na! Final season na ng “Job Hunting Series”?… Can’t wait for the next story line… tipong office scenes na you can’t decide whom to go out with(lol). Will it be yummy boss number 1 or yummy boss number 2? hahaha.

Auguri(congrats) to who’s hiring you!

If Palin will win, America must love SNL(Saturday Night Li). Means they need and preffer “humor” to run their government hahaha… watch this: http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/couric-palin-open/704042/

Made me cringe watching the latest interview by Katie Couric to “bailout” or give Palin a second chance to redeem herself from her latest flop(first interview with Couric). McCain even sat with her and they both blame “GOT’YA JOURNALISM” – wrong move! Hay naku Reynz, its getting funnier and funnier hahaha… But, I think she will win regardless…

Hahaha! I’m waiting for the papers from my future employer this friday para mag-sign na ang MOA and everything hahaha and then rap-up na tong Job Hunting Series hahaha!

Later I’ll tell you who hired me hehehe o, sabihin ko pa ba?

Nakakatuwa yong interview di ba? Shock ako, di ko expected na ganun sya sumagot, kasi i was hoping na yung Palin sa convention ang maririnig ko. Oh, well, mas lalong makikilala mo kasi ang mga to sa interview. Don’t know but let’s see kasi ang mag-dedecide nito ang mga UNDECIDED hahaha!
