Don’t get me wrong. I really have no problem recognizing best friends, if that is the case. But…
My entry today is to set the records straight of yet another personal attack by another blogger. This time, from my BFF Prudence, who left her comments on Jester’s blog (no more links Jester. tama na, sobra na). I am giving my BFF some needed TLA attention guys. As I always say, “It’s the issue, stupid!” and not the personality.
Our doctor here believed it better to prescribe some badly mangled phrasial-medicines for the obvious reason of once again attacking the writer but never the issue. “Doctor, doctor, you are sick! You write don’t think, very quick!” Like nyo my poem mga kunichiwa? Hahaha!. Here’s what I said in this post: Philippine Blog Awards Chorva:
They said, ?These five posts should embody and represent the category the blog was nominated for.? Huh? This is like telling me, that for me to win this award, I need to design my blog according to this awarding body?s chorva standards. Whatever they are whatever the maybe, que sera sera!
Well, teka lang? I blog for my very own reasons, my wishes and kapritsos, according to my own tuldoks and principles, commas and standards, hyphens and decrees. Idagdag mo na ang rules nang hosting company ko. Meaning, I couldn?t care less if their blog awards exist or not. In other words, I believe that it?s their responsibility to determine if my entries matches with whatever standards they set. Yon bang tipong, ?I was not born in this world to live up to your own expectations, nor were you born in this world to live up with mine. But if by chance we meet and see each other, chika chika and chorva chorva or sum?tin sum?tin, it?s gonna be beautiful. ? Korak?
Yong doktor na to mali-mali ang prescribed comments! Hahaha! Terry Hatcher! What school was that again?! Hahaha! Do you now see how my detractors would selectively pick a phrase and write some lies and spread mis-information about me and what I said? Naiirita ako sa mga ganitong bloggers na to na mga tiga-Manila. Puro pa-english english eklavu ang mga blogs. Leche! Mga bobitas pala umintindi nang mga pinakasimpling sinulat kong english! Communications divide ladies and gentlemen!!! Kelangan na ba akong mag-blog nang balikwa kong bisaya and fluent bikol para lang maintindan ako nang mga to?
Now, let’s go to what Prudence has to say from the comment he posted on Jester’s entry.
?At least, it?s not something like posting an article why one doesn?t like an award and still, by choice, continues to bitch and whine about it which that, according to him, doesn?t matter anyway. That would be a contradiction.?
Did I say I did not like the award? Yes, I did. I don’t want to be associated with an awarding body that is seriously flawed and is suffering from some serious credibility problems. If I have to win an award, I want to make sure, I earn it. And I earn it damn good, in fair and honest competition, not some Feed The Hungry Program sum’tin sum’tin hahaha!
From what I leaned from a few bloggers, PBA actually chose me as the winner of the OFW Award, except that they knew I don’t want to join. One blogger even blogged about this. Here. Now, nobody responded though why I ended up as a finalist in the OFW category when the confirmation email I received was for the Personal Category. No one. Not even PBA.
Now, do I like to be awarded someday? You nuts?! Hallerrr! Who’s gonna feed my ADD??? I am wanting some serious attention just like you guys! Helllo!!!! Hahaha! You fkin believe it! But NOT from an award giving body that I have just described. Uh-uh!
Now, do we have a CONTRADICTION from what I said?
I said, I blog according to my own wishes and my hosting rules, irrelevant as to whether the blog awards exists or not.
Let me put back what Prudence said:

It’s Prudence who is bitching and whining. I wonder why? Anybody wanna share some ideas?

About this time of the year last year, Prudence emailed Bluepanjeet and asked him to be the bridge of World Peace with me. Those emails I deposited in some Swiss Bank safety deposits. Hehehe! But, I gave Blue an emphatic NO. Leche! Nagalit ang Blue! Hahaha! He got annoyed at me and explained some whatever chorva in the bible about second chances whatever chorvaloo dahil kung hindi raw, magiging urang-utang ang susunod kong boyfriend! Ang leche at dinaan ako sa harassment and intimidation! Afraid that my butt will be barbecued, I agreed. And so, the East-West Berlin Wall collapsed. Peace to the World. Or was there?
Prudence just issued a threat
Interestingly, I just visited Brian Gorrell’s blog after arriving from my Chicago trip. I was curious why I was flooded by people flying the Brian Gorrell Airlines. Instead, here’s what I read:

“Uy, so allegedly I’m one of the “best friends”. This is getting interesting. To Anonymous and all others who have “issues” about PBA, come on continue with your list of accusations. We’ll see in time who’s making a fool of themselves. Honestly, this is getting so funny already.”
Sound like THREAT to me. Issues to us, accusations to her. Looks like some people out there are planning to silence us.

Bakit yong blogger’s choice blogger nanalo. It has hibernated for months from April and then just make one entry in September.

come from a person who does not use his God given talent–brain.
All the entries about PBA were before the awarding ceremony was made.
The “after the award blogs” were in response to the personal attacks of the winners-whose-five-second-fame-in-accepting their awards turned themselves into expletive curdling dudes whose good credentials were dropped in the open manhole.
The good doctor is at it again. Too much plurking is not good for the health especially if the approach to treating the disease is MORE INJECTION OF VIRUS.

Reynz, here are two statements you made that could be contradictory:
1. “I blog for my very own reasons [...] Meaning, I couldn?t care less if their blog awards exist or not.”
2. “I am very much a stakeholder in the blog awards. I know something is totally fucked up and I will not sit here and just say, oh yeah, everything is ok [...]” and “m I not a stakeholder in the word ‘Philippines’? or ‘Blog’?”
The first statement was made during the nomination period; the second after the the awards night. They’re contradicting, but I guess they can be resolved by that fact you don’t care before and now you do?

Up to now when appreciations and thank yous have been written short to worshipping the harworking organizers and VOLUNTEERS, how come their names were never mentioned in the PBA website or in any other blogs that have been harping about their gargantuan task?
Are they afraid that the names of the winners and volunteers may be the same like last year?

On the 1st statement:
The “don’t care” was about my continued blogging irrelevant of their standards and awards. In other words, should I be awarded, it’s not because I was following their standards but only mine and my hosting company. I should be judged according to how effective, influential (if that?s to be considered), how good the quality of my blogging or the lack of it, and as to whether I make an impact (popularity) on certain things or issues, or not.
On the 2nd statement:
The stakeholder thing is my continued blogging about the issue. Very simple. Although I am an American, I am very much and still, a Filipino (read: sumumpa ako sa Consulate in New York. Later na ang link, I can?t find it.) As such, I have a stake with the word ?Philippines? given that this blog awards is supposed to award and recognize the best in the Philippines. Just as I blog that I can?t accept the Comelec ?counting?, I cannot accept the PBA?s selection & judging rules by selecting the ?Philippines? best blogs. Remember, as an Overseas Filipino, I am on the frontlines in the United States being laughed at. If they would stop using the word and/or making references to ?Philippines? in their award and marketing is the Philippines prestigious blog awards, I?ll probably shut up my mouth.
I don?t see any contradictory statements Eugene.
P.S. I followed your conversation with Cat. Walang halong social climbing, I?m impressed because you try to separate from the “pack” by sticking to my issue. I guess, that truly ?separates? you from them. You earn my admiration on argumentation.

Feedbacks, positive or negative should be listened to especially from people they call detractors.
That’s the secret of a successful business…the never ending effort to improve. They look at the complaints, the criticisms, the reasons and then examine themselves if indeed there is a need to change.
When these people become defensive and justify all their wrongdoings, there will always the cloud of doubt; the question of sincerity and honesty.
Can they face the mirror and tell themselves that indeed, they have somewhow used undue influence to get their awards?
As to Prudence, para siyang bata, parang sige makikita mo…and I thought there is psychology and Medicine? What is that threat for?

This issue is dragging for too long because the proponents of PBA have yet to answer every single criticism. Instead, dahil “matalino” daw sila, they resort to character assassination instead, whether in their own blogs or, more cowardly, through nasty private plurks. That does not make a good crisis management I must say.

Screw the PBAs. Let’s host our own awards. Then BLOG about the creation of our award show, then submit THAT blog to the PBAs … and if they catch our drift and let us win, we’ll give them an award, call it “The Meta”, and the trophy will be comprised of two mirrors facing each other… chances are they won’t, but that WOULD make a brilliant trophy.
Or better yet, we could just have our own awards show judging ALL Phil-based awards… call it the “Taste, Art and Entertainment award” … also known as … hmmmm, I wonder what the acronym would be?
Or we could just pour champagne into a jester hat and drink it Communal Cup style. Nothing terrifically symbolic about that, but I’ve never drank wine from a glass slipper either.
