Jester’s entry is full of lies

If in the US Presidential Elections, “It’s the economy, stupid!“, in this “May the best friends win” spectacle, “It’s the issue, stupid!”, not the personality.

I don?t respond to all personal attacks. But this one, liar_liar_pants1.JPG I just had to, given the fact that the blogger sent me links, not once, not twice but three times. He was really begging for some serious, royal, Reyna Elena, ADD attention. Darn it, I thought I was the one who was desperately wanting some attention! Grr! Now, let me not forget, this blogger compared the PBA Awards to the ? ehem? Oscar Awards. #@!~puke~!@#

And so, true to the endearing label (blood sucking vampire at night) given me by my good Swedish friend Mogli, the Vampire flew over to Jester?s blog and read his entry to satisfy the bloggers wanting some attention from me. Just to make sure, I read the entry many times over. Indeed, it was a personal attack, as he charged: ?are the product of HER INTELLECTUAL LAZINESS.? (Hey, at least he knows that I’m intellectual! I’m just lazy! Hehehe! What can I do? Good-looking men continue to stalk me! But the lazy part could be worked out! Don’t you think?)

I won?t narrate our issues with the Philippine Barkadahan Awards. Some of the bloggers have written their piece. I have written mine and here they are:

Audacity?! Jester did not even bother to read the first two entries I wrote. Instead, he took the easy, lousy and lazy route. Shoot the writer not the issues. Such is Jester’s understanding of argumentation. If you can’t convincingly and justifiably respond to the issues, shoot the writer. He carefully crafted his malicious accusations by consciously deleting and omitting very important and relevant issues I raised for his own self-serving objectives to make it appear that this was a pure attack on the volunteers. Sick!

Remember that I raised the issue that it should be the Organizing Committee who should pick the best entries, not me. Now, granted for the sake of argument they did worked very hard, still, the means did not justify the end.

Jester purposely deleted and/or ignored my issues which if included in the context, would have provided relevant Reyna justifications. Here?s what he deleted:

Nominees should just stay as that. Nominees. Judges should just stay as that. Judges. You mix the responsibilities of the two together, it won?t work. Clash of objectives. The two will fight. Just like what Kutz had said in her comment, what the nominees think to themselves as the best, will probably come out as ?beast? in so far as the judges are concerned. Bottom line, the judges rule. Not the nominees. So, why ask the nominees to pick? Let me bring Cat?s comment again. If the judges don?t have the time to review the blogs and read the entries, why come up with the awards?

And worse, he deleted the very juice of my argument. Here:

Judging a blogger as best of this and best of that, especially with the criteria set by the Philippine Blog Awards Organizing Committee as let?s say ?Best personal blog? takes a lot more than reading 5 entries unless of course you?re pretty well connected with the organizers. Trust me, that?s like a no-brainer isn?t it? If you ask me, my personal opinion says that they should just rather change their awards name to: The Philippines Best Five Blog Entries.

Would lying bring credibility to Jester’s award? This is rather, a very easy analysis with a straightforward conclusion: Jester’s entry is full of malicious lies and mis-information about the true issues being raised by the entries I made. Instead of attacking the issues raised, he thought it better to attack Reyna Elena personally.

Oh, BTW, did I tell you that Jester was awarded of some news sum’tin sum’tin? I thought when you write some news, commentaries sum’tin, sum’tin that it has to be complete, factual and fair? Ok. Fine. Delete the factual and fair part, because the guy was crying that we all just say that, yeah this award is credible and we all just shut up our mouth and pretend everything is beautiful in Bloggie Wonderland. Really?! Am I not a stakeholder in the word “Philippines”? or “Blog”?

And oh, before I forget, I looked at Jester’s stats: 44,000 plus since 2005. Ugh! He should be happy, I will make him popular. I guess, no one really cared much about lies since 2005. It’s 2008 now, lies still don’t work. Pinoys are smart. You can’t fool them. And we can’t be fooled by your award. Let me make some blatant Nike Ad in here: It appears that I am the more effective blogger than Jester? Agree??? Hahaha! Seriously, can I ask your opinion guys?

Yes, Jester is a PBA Awardee, a liar. So, are you still asking me why PBA is suffering from serious credibility problems? Will Jester give PBA the much needed credibility by shooting the writer who’s putting PBA’s serious weaknesses issues upfront? Learn from history. Marcos refused to listen to Filipinos. Did you know what happened to his regime? I wonder why Jester can’t argue on the issues. Intellectual laziness? Or the lack of the first word? You decide.

It has been a busy week of travels for me, flying and driving. I’d be in Chicago again tomorrow. So, to those who are commenting for the 1st time and are waiting for their comments to show up, those will be approved if I get the chance to hop on the internet in between my appointments.

    4. Grabe naman minura pa si Bluep dun! Sobra naman yan! Alam mo, Reynz, ang pinaka-gist lang naman ng issue na ito is this: are the awards representative of the whole Philippine blogosphere? Yun lang naman. Dun na lang umikot ang debate sana. Wala namang nagsabing di siya deserving di ba? Or yung iba pang winners. I am sure may merit lahat ng nanalo. Like si Tita Dine (dine.racoma.ph). Her blog is really great and she deserves to win an award. I don’t see anything wrong in raising some issues. Personal mo yun eh. May issue si Bluep. Kanya yun. I am sure marami pang pinoy dyan ang may gustong sabihin about the past 2 PBAs pero kung mumurahin kung magre-raise ng issue, paano mapapabuti yung award giving body at yung rules and regulations nila? Yung issues, sagutin na lang. Yun dapat. If you are not being targeted as the winner, bakit kailangang magmura pa ng ganon eh di ka naman tinitira? Naguluhan lang talaga ako dun.

    Dapat kung dinadaan sa maayos na usapan, wala ng murahan pa! Ano ba naman yun! Pati nanay sinali! Nakakawalang gana!

    And yes, Reynz, the key points in your posts were omitted. You raised some important points. If it was only taken that way, madadaan naman sa maayos na usapan lahat. I am just sad that this has to happen. Ano ba ang ultimate goal ng mga sinasabi niyang “detractors”? To make the award giving body more credible to ALL Filipino bloggers. Yun lang naman. Am I right, Reynz?

    I just hope this will be resolved in a proper manner. There are so many ways to get a point across. Wala ng murahan pa sana.

    The blogger has an issue of understanding and needs a lecture on marketing.

    If you are promoting a product like books… services like webhosting and seminars and web designs, what is the best marketing strategy to adopt? Make yourself visible to your target market. And what is the best place a product that is about internet and blogging…tada… it is the gathering and website where promoters, sponsors and bloggers may be found. Is it illegal or irregular or unethical ? No.

    What is wrong is when naive people regard them as heroes and are not profit motivated.

    Profit may not be earned directly. It could be earned when the products of the organizers/volunteers/judges are purchased out of genuine interest of people or out of gratitude for favor received. (Utang na loob has always been the Filipino culture that some people capitalized on).
    In business parlance, that is promotion.

    For an awardee and a intelligent blogger, you disappoint me for writing this expletive in your blog. And you accuse these people of resorting to ad hominems.

    There were comments that these volunteers hobnobbed with the judges, actually engaged them in conversation.

    IT did not only happen this year. Even last year this was the same issue. Kawawa naman yong mga legitimate winners/awardees.

    What motivate them to volunteer? Huwag mong sabihin gusto nilang macanonize as saints?

    Let us be honest to ourselves. There is always that slefish motication of being noticed…being recognized.

    Yep, it took you so long to be recognized and there were people who made short cuts. Di ba nakakainis?

    13. awtz! sorry but “somehow” i disagree na tuwing mag vovolunteer ang isang tao ay dahil may kapalit ito… Kase if I was in the Phil. i will be one of them na tinatawag mong selfish which medyo nakakapikon ng konti lang ehehehehe :)
    Hindi lahat ng ginagawa ng ibang tao is not always because gusto nya ng kapalit. Not all people are thingking same way u are… Kung ang iba ay tumutulong para lang mapalapit sa organizers at mga anik-anik pa jan, oh well not everyone. Some just want to share their talents at makatulong kahit papano. Why sila tutulong kung walang kapalit!? Plain and simple they’re helping out to see the event successful. ISANG NAPAKA LAKING ACHIEVEMENT ANG MAKITA ANG ISANG EVENT NA TUMULONG KA NA MAGING SUCCESSFUL…

    Ito na lang put urself to their situation para matigil na ang lahat ng ito…. Isipin ninyo kau ang nagvolunteers (KUNWARI LANG) would u like me calling u selfish and ur just helping out kase gusto mo ng award? O dibe medyo unfair sau?

    16. reynz, you do make a very good point let me guess, accountant? therefore another guess, your whole gist is on independence after all people in finance & accounting are heavy on independence credibility that stuff. read your subprime entry and very very impressed with what you put together.

    read jester’s entry there’s no comparison. your point clearly delivered justified. his on the other hand, pointing a completely different issue when put together is a lie. he needs to justify his award to his readers at your own expense.

    just my 2 cents, great work on economic articles, keep blogging. the more you go up, the more they stone your ass did you know that?

    In a not-for-profit sector…they’re called volunteers. in legitimate organisations who receive funding, they’re called paid staffs. come to think of it…volunteers as winners? STAFFS as WINNERS? Whatta? Haller, on majority (if not all) contests/game shows on TV…hinde allowed sumali ang mga staffs!!! including their 3rd degree relation..why? To maintain the CREDIBILITY!!! TRANSPARENCY!!!!

    this is not a personal attack against the volunteers slash winners…surely, genuine ang motive nila to help the PBA…but then, hinde ba UNFAIR yun sa ibang finalists? chances are, people like most of us here will think it’s LUTONG MACAO. FAVORITISM. may the best *insert-your-relation-to-the-organizers-here* wins! sabi nga ni C at, DELICADEZA.

    Ang laki ng blogosphere. Konti ba ang nag-volunteer at pati mga finalists eh naging volunteers? O sadyang walang makapasok sa PBA CLUB na minomonopolya ng mga elite bloggers? Enlighten me please.

    This another MD has totally screwed her logic. as far as I know, when the issue was severely debated last year about the Desperate Housewives, Reynz told me via phone that this Prudence girl was the one who emailed bluepanjeet to make Peace with Reynz. Reynz doesn’t want to because she did not trust this Prudence (Correct me if I am wrong Reynz), But bluepanjeet was the one who told reynz to give her a chance. Hence the reconciliation was made between the two. And now she’s attacking him? Such Betrayal to the highest of all level.

    24. Well, if indeed this was Prudence statement: i will not make any comment on the forgiveness shit. Here’s what I have to say otherwise:

    1.) I am very much a stakeholder in the blog awards. I know something is totally fucked up and I will not sit here and just say, oh yeah, everything is ok, if that is what Prudence is expecting from a CPA who is involved in a lot of financials that deals daily with matters on independence that one commenter understand. I don’t know if doctors like Prudence have any clue what independence is. Maybe i can give her group a lecture on this.

    2.) She’s a crying baby just like Jester and the rock star. We blogged and wrote about this even before these people were born to be “PBA’s Beast…. errr Best”. So, now that they were handed a very, very defective toy, they want us to bow our heads in agreement. Sorry, Prudence, but I don’t provide warranty for your defective toy. You go return it and ask them to explain to you why you were given a defective one. That’s is your right. And if were you? I’d do it.

    25. Unang-una, malay ba naten na sila ang “Model bloggers nang PBA” samantalang sinulat naten yun eh di pa alam nang buong blogosphere kung sino ang nanalo, so ba’t ngayon lang sila umiiyak??? Bat’ di sila umiyak noon pa? Dahil komportable sa mga “friends”? Hahahah!

    Pangalawa, yeap, dito sila saken pupunta dahil wala naman silang masabi sa issue that I raised, kaya the only that they need to do is character assasination which is really understandable sa mga to. They were much a victim dito. Victim nang lecheng selection and awarding nang PBA na yan.

    So therefore may i conclude, kung nabigyan man sila nang defective awards, we are not the section and we don’t deal with RETURNS POLICY. Dun sila sa nagbigay nang defective toy sa kanila. Alam mo yon?

    27. i’m really sorry they all feel annoyed at what happened. we blogged about this ever before they “won”, long before. so, yong crying time nila and accusing us is more like barking on the wrong tree.

    32. You got my point Sasha. Dapat ang mission nang blog awards na to is to be a credible, independent and respected awardgiving body recognizing the best of pinoy talents or sum’tin sum’tin. Yong vision nila is to showcase the best pinoy talents in blogging.

    Now, maraming issues:
    1.) Exclusionary, ilang beses na nilang sinabi “ba’t di sila magtayo nang sarili nilang awards”
    2.) Delekadeza, indi maintindihan to nung mga batang bloggers like Poyt who raised that “they worked very hard as volunteers”. That’s not the issue, kahit na duguan ka pa sa kaka-volunteer mo.
    3.) Independence, eto ang issue na ni-raise ko. Eh kung effective blogger ka ba, di me nagbabasa seyo. Kung me nagbabasa seyo at magaling ka, ma-aantig mo kasukasuan nila at sila ang best person to select kung ano ang nakaantig sa budhi nila at HINDI IKAW NA NAGSULAT. hahaha!

    Marami pang issues kung isasama naten sina Bluep, Cat, Jepoy at ibapa.

    Unless walang credibility ang awards giving body, ang magiging ultimate goal nang mga nanalo (sorry to them) is to find credibility from somewhere, dahil indi naman maibigay yan nung mga nag-organize eh. So, the next thing that they’ll do is banatan na yong mga nag-raise nang issue.

    ang pinakamalaking pagkakamali ni Jester was that, all of our entries were written BAGO PA SYA TINANGHAL NA hangal este “winner” daw. alam ba ni Jester yun? HINDI. bakit? Eh hindi naman talaga nagbasa ang Jester eh. Kinalikot lang ang story para kunyari belibabol.

    Eto ang irony nito, di you notice na Jester is anti-Gloria? Meaning, di rin nya gusto ang ginawa nang Comelec? Meaning, ba’t gusto na nya ang ginawa nang PBA? HAHAHAHAHA!!!

    Typical Pinoy attitude pa rin. Kung saan ka kikita, dun ka, kahit walang MORAL RIGHTEOUSNESS.

    37. tama yang PBA na yan e para sa magkakaibigang dikit lang, pag di ka nila friend hanggang nominee ka na lang kahit mas sikat at deserving ang blog mo, look at what happen to orangeinks, pinoymoneytalk and this blog. mas kilala, mas pinupuntahan, mas may sense pero ang mga nanalo hmmmm never heard? (never heard ko talaga pa except kay batang yagit na nakita ko sa EC) but about his post sobra naman yun na may mura mura pa to think na may award pa xa e ganyan pala ang ugali ng deserving mag win kaya wag na lang asamin and PBA di talga credibol. Sana may ibang awards pa sa blog para naman mga deserving ang manalo, wawa naman si Mar Roxas ginamit pa sa palabas nila :P

    38. What the people can not understand is that even in non-profit organization, people on board are also compensated in the form of per diem, reimbursements of mileage, gas and oil etc.

    the purpose of making an organization a non-profit is to be able to make it accept donations aside from exempting it from taxes.

    In a profit organization, the difference between the revenue and the expenses is called profit…

    In a non-profit, it is called the excess of the cash receipts from cash disbursements…the public may not know where this goes if it is not audited.

    So whoever thinks that there is no pecuniary gain from a non profit, is naive. I have worked in a nonprofit organization and our volunteers are rewarded by number of hours worked which they can claim as tax deduction.
    Even those donating for a cause is not really aiming to become philantrophist. They just want to get the tax shield.

    Whoever thinks that there will be no selfish motivation in volunteering to an event is in denial.

There were several events na nag volunteer ako like cleaning the sea shore or something like that… wala naman kapalit walang bayad pero i did it for nature bah! wahahahahahahaha prawmis! adik kase ako sa mga ganyan! helpful kase ako! wag lang financial! wahahahahahaha

    Medyo masakit lang isipin na meron talagang ibang tao na pagiisipan ka pa rin ng masama though ur just doing it to help out. Anyway tama sila we can’t please everybody…

    Last thing! di ako maka get over! nosebleed talaga toh! Inde ko kinakaya ang english ng mga tao d2! todo eh! as in to the highest peak ng mt everest! ehehehehee

    Yong nag-comment nung “non-profit” i think yong Poyt. I don’t think she really understood the deal about the “profit” thing in the whole awarding because she only looks at it on the entity side. She got a faintest clue that there is a “profit” matter when you start marketing your products to these people. U know what I mean. I would assume Poyt is not in business and/or finance which I would say is an acceptable justification for her ignorance. What do u think? Patawarin ko ba sa sinabi? Hahaha! Like she would care anyway. Hahaha

    di ko lam buong wento, pero aalamin ko din mamaya. mukhang sa tono ni jester, conected sya sa PBA in a way. kaya mukhang masakait ang tumama sa kanya.

    like him, i also am for freedom of the press and expression and whatever achuchuchu.

    pero in line with that freedom, mas pabor ako sa prangka magsalita at walang halong pagka ipokritahan. kumbaga, ayoko ng balat sibuyas. kasi kung totoo naman sinasabi mo, ok lang. minsan masakit, pero it’s the truth, and that is simply being honest.

    people who love this freedom should be the one at the forefront of NOT shoting the messenger. yan ay because datapwat ngunit dahil we, as writers, ARE the messenger. magkaiba man tayo ng linya or opinyon, we all have the same goal, to be heard.

    if you however has a stand on issues na kontrang kontra sa akin, i will still fight for your right to be heard, no mater what you say. that is freedom of expression, press, achuchuchu.

    it really was not about jester or atheista or any winner. it really was not about the volunteers or the volunteers work. as is usual naman kasi, etong mga batang to will bring it down to personality and not deal with issues.

    aside from MLQ3, there really is only EUGENE that I have my respect dahil this guy stucked to the point. i followed his argument with Cat and i was impressed. i guess that’s how you separate boys from men.
