My entry today is to bluntly show my support to Bluepanjeet with the entry he made about PBA’s greatest blunder, err… jokes? Honestly, I don?t know much about Bluep personally, other than a couple of hours meeting him and his parents when I drove with Malen and Ambo to Lucena from Pasig on November 2007.
What you guys don?t know, is the fact that bluepanjeet and I, don?t actually share the same neutrons. He abhors my stand on certain Church issues and castigates me when it comes to certain gay rights. I’m lucky that we sometimes jibe on certain political matters but are three blocks away yet parallel on PBA issues. We’ve become blogfriends but threads very carefully with some balancing acts to maintain that level of trust and friendship.
Malen and Bluepanjeet? They fight like two crazy cats. They don?t share the same religious belief. Bluep is Catholic and Malen worships Reyna Elena sum?tin sum?tin.
The same is true with some of my regular readers. Although I’m extremely secretive about my sex, I?m very vocal about my US political colors. I?m also very vocal about my Philippine political colors. So, yes, I understand when some of you would watch on the sidelines.
To me they’re spelled R.E.S.P.E.C.T., a certain level that we all achieved towards each other helped by our social climbing classes.
So when one plurker plurked the following, I followed the conversation.
it’s ironic that X, who defended Y in an issue last year, is now attacking Y in a different issue this year
Yes, they were referring to Bluepanjeet and that guy.
And that guy responded
it just shows that my loyalty is not rooted to a person – but to an ideology.
And more…
im a fan of putting people in their proper places…. WITH THE GLOVES OFF.
When I tell you I have friends, I have friends. Friendships that I cultivated even when I was in my elementary days in Barrio Siete then moved to Barrio City. Migrating to Barrio States, you better believed me that I still have them all with me. Damn shit! It’s very expensive! Andaming pinapa-inom!!! Lechee! Puro overtime ang lola nyo!!! Grrr! Alam nyo nilalagok? Puro mga Johnnieng walang walker!
I believe in friendship rooted in true [fill in the blanks], time might pass and you might pass several continents but shame to Baguio?s everlasting, that?s the kind of friendship that?s everlasting.
Believe you me, not all of my friends agrees with my very opinionated protons. Why do they still love me up to now? Because I make them quack with laughter? I might not be the long lost daughter of Ayala and I know that I am pretty, but I know those were not the reason why they?ve stucked with me all these 80 years. I did noticed that they’ve continued to support me as I supported them, but never defended me on issues they disagreed with. Grrr! Could it be because of my ?ideology??
Judge me if I am right or wrong, but I believe in all my heart that people who choose ideology over friendship are potential traitors. They can sell their friends but never their twisted principles.

sige na nga makaepal na. kami rin naman ni bluep madalas hindi rin nag-aagree sa isa’t-isa. i remember yung napaka-importanteng issue (kasing importante ng pagpigil sa pagkagunaw ng mundo) about the quality of philippine entertainment or the lack of it. we have freely expressed our dis-agreements tapos nun wala nang pansinan. hahaha.

minsan kasi mahirap kapag naisulat na, tapos may nakabasa na, parang putting your feet in your mouth na rin. pero kapag mas importante ang kaibigan, sempre may mga paraan para maayos yon. at minsan, kahit nga magkaibigan e nagbubuntalan rin pero pagkatapos ng buntalan e sila pa rin ang magkakasama sa gimik, walang personalan ba kasi lahat naman tayo may ibat ibang opinyon. kaya lang hindi rin madaling gawin ang ganyan pero nagpagaaralan kung alam nating it is worth the effort.

We are all independent or autonomous organisms thats why we vary in opinion and perceptions about life. But this makes life interesting, relationship happy/sad, and our existence in this world meaningful. God is so great to create living and non-living organisms vary in color, texture, and shape, etc. We vary yes, but we compliment each others in many ways.

tsk, minsan talaga nakakahiyang maging UP alumnus!
sa isang UP student site which i frequent, magugulat ka sa taas ng ere ng mga posters dun. ok lang ang magpayabangan kung sila-sila lang at contained lang naman doon sa site, like inside jokes baga. natural lang sa kidz yan at ganyan din ako noong kabataan ko pa. pero yung ilabas pa at ipangalandakan sa buong mankind ay katawa-tawa na. in my case i never, will ever pull out that i’m this and this chorvalais! (until of course when i’ve won the Nobel Prize in Whatever here in Sweden!) LOL!
UP is really a microcosm of pinas. you’ll get the best and the worst. think, ninoy and makoy. frat brothers pa, ha!
anyways, para on-topic, i second emotion. behind every opinion is a real person. unless the opinion reeks of extreme hatred and prejudice (such as those of fundamentalists aiming to exterminate people not belonging to their group), the person behind it always deserves the utmost respect.
just like you reynz, bluep and i are in extreme ends of belief systems, but despite that, he even asked me some time ago to write in his blog, which i politely declined due to the fact that i was going into hiatus. i was truly amazed with the sincerity of this guy.
bluep is one prolific and great blogger and despite the differences in opinions, i will never pull out the get that punk attitude on him, or to anyone for that matter.

Isn’t that sweet. He claims that his loyalty is not rooted to any person but to an ideology when it is very obvious that his tantrum-bitschslapping-his-credentials-as-a champion-debater in response to bluepanjeet’s blog was prompted by his defense to his colleagues/bloggers/volunteers in the award body which gave him the a BEST —something Award.
This is the argument:
I don?t think participating in an award-giving process diminishes any of your credibility as a blogger. To even suggest it is downright insulting.”
this is logic…
Premise 1: Joining an award body which processes of selection of the winners are highy questionable diminishes one’s bloggers’ credibility.
Premise 2 : PVA (Phil. Volunteers Awards) ermm PBA is that the Philippine barkadahan Awards? is being criticized for its selection of winners.
Question: Did the bloggers credibility diminish?
If you are honest to yourself that many of volunteers and friends of the friends of people involved in the award body won blogging awards, don’t you think you credibility is still intact?
Moreso if you will close your eyes to this disregard of the standards they have set themselves, meron ka bang natitirang delicadeza?

On Friendship:
In cyberspace where anonimity is the name of the game, it is the RESPECT which should rule for people with different opinions or ideologies– friends and not friends alike.
It will not kill anybody not unless they are weak of heart if they ignore postings of some friends who may differ from their own beliefs. I have so many of them. I have always been radical in my opinion and am not afraid to express them but I always maintain my respect to those who believe otherwise. i do not criticize to change their beliefs. Sabi ko nga kung ayaw nilang maniwala sa impyerno, hayaan mo silang mabarbecue, bigyan mo na lang ng marshmallow.
Or if repression of oneself from responding to an issue will cause their blood pressure to shoot up, then by all means, respond. But stick to the issue and don’t forget not to have hidden agenda for taking that side.
if you are defending someone because he is a friend, then say so, but do not say that it is because of an ideology.
I have more enemies than friends but no one notices because I do not write about them, i do not go to their blogs to criticize them.
And even for those friends, i had falling out, i don’t write or gossip the reason why for the parting of ways . That is also respect for sharing their secrets with you when you are still friends. that is keeping mum and hope that they do the same.

i mean really… ON on premise #1.
the challenge really when you put out an awarding body is that the question becomes: how credible are you to give an awards? people’s eyes first look at the organizers themselves, then the rules, then the results.
when you organize an awarding body, foremost is to make sure that you are able to capture a good number errr NUMBERSSSSSSS of participants. quality participants not just “pwede na yan” sorry to say, but if you’re an organizer, you’d have to a lot of social climbing tricks, balancing your acts to do and see if you could muster a majority if not all of the quality bloggers to believe that YOU as the organizer is credible. when you win the bloggers belief that you’ll deliver a fair judging, then it’s another work to really pull them, to come within your starting poin. that should have been their series of steps.
given that i’m sure there are more issues there, then you look into the members of the organizing committee – they are the ones who’s going to give glitters to the awards to balance above.
yet when you follow it up with Premise #1, any credibility left is shattered so needless to say, whoever is the “declared winner” has a very shallow, loose argument or should i say NADA? to expect on credibility being diminished because there is none.

hahaha! i won’t explain and prove why I am as much a stakeholder in the “University of the Philippines” even though I’m not from UP. hehehe! but yeah, same with my school in the US.
But like Cat said, Phil. society is expecting you guys to behave in a certain manner given the very high expectations from you’all which is really a glittering compliments. Unfortunately, the name just makes some people drunk with some perceived status symbol.

ideology separates us but LOVE and RESPECT brings us together…oh emm geee i am sooo EMO hahahahha seriously, daiii I like your take on the IDEOLOGY issue.
there are other things that matter more than ideology, even in the x-men, professor x and magneto are best of friends. they have different ideology that they fight for, and yet when the time came when professor x’s life was in danger, magneto came to the rescue. and when (the reformed) Magneto was arrested and put on trial, professor x attended the trial to defend his friend.
y? because friendship is thicker than ideology.
kaso nag-explode si professor x sa xmen3 eh but i think he’s not dead…he just transferred to another body. fan ako ng xmen soreee hahaha
now what if ‘y’ happened to be someone else (like MOM perhaps or a close friend or special someone), will you also give her/him/them that kind of i-am-better-than-you-and-you-have-nothing-on-me attitude? can you set aside the relationship over freakin IDEOLOGY?
you call them traitor. in swarspeak, anak ni ZUMA. in politics, they’re also called balimbing. in the Bible, they’re called HUDAS BARABBAS HESTAS!!!

oops,, i should have perhaps not revealed bluep’s invitation to me to fill in his blog. but it was some months ago, early this year actually. and i just mentioned that to show how trusting a guy bluep really is. imagine we barely know each other, and very rarely exchange comments in each other’s blogs but he was very willing to have me as a guest writer! how generous and trusting person indeed!
and reynz, i can tell you that he wanted to invite you then as well, but given the considerate man that he is, he thought you are already busy managing your palasyo and your other sites, that’s why he didn’t bother to ask for your help. same goes with malen and ambo which he thought of approaching too back then.

Prudence said on Jester’s Blog Comments:
“At least, it’s not something like posting an article why one doesn’t like an award and still, by choice, continues to bitch and whine about it which that, according to him, doesn’t matter anyway. That would be a contradiction.”
This another MD has totally screwed her logic. as far as I know, when the issue was severely debated last year about the Desperate Housewives, Reynz told me via phone that this Prudence girl was the one who emailed bluepanjeet to make Peace with Reynz. Reynz doesn’t want to because she did not trust this Prudence (Correct me if I am wrong Reynz), But bluepanjeet was the one who told reynz to give her a chance. Hence the reconciliation was made between the two. And now she’s attacking him? Such Betrayal to the highest of all level.
