Hate me but Imelda Marcos deserves the honor!

imelda0702

I swear, my entry today will earn me some shit condemnation and I will forever be banned in Yellowstone! Keri! But the Department of Education’s Annual National Leadership Training for Student Government Officers at the Teachers Camp in Baguio City’s decision to award and honor Imelda Marcos for her “contribution to Philippine culture and arts” is korak and Imelda Marcos deserves it! The furor by teachers and student groups over this is not fair and justified. Heck! Arts and culture should be equal opportunity. Period.

True! Kurapness ever ang lola Imelda nyo and she probably made a lot of people [fill in the blanks], who knows! And this entry is by no means an insult to the victims, after all, lahat naman tayo pinagdusa nang pamilyang yan! True, she made the Central Bank of the Philippines her Louis Vitton bag but damn shit, as hard it is to accept these things, true or false, the truth of the trulala was that Imelda Marcos made some damn great contributions to the Philippine arts and culture. Meaning? Kurapshunness is irrelevant. Da best was yong binakuran nya ang boung South Super-highway para itago ang mga squat-ress for the Miss Universe pageant. Remember nyo ba yun mga ineng? Bwahahaha! Hahaha!

Majority saten, I know, wez ma-stomach ang kurap dictatorship nang mga Marcoses. But, what’s that got to do with art? Or say, the Cultural Center of the Philippines? The Philippine International Convention Center? The Coconut Palace? The Folk Arts Theatre? Gibain na lang ba lahat yon at gawing limonada because those were built by the most corrupt regime of all times? Dang! I think one should dis-associate themselves from all the shit that she did and instead count the true positive effect of what those arts, buildings and museums contribution to the great majority of the Filipino people and to our arts and culture! Korak?

After all, piktapos ni Queen Imelda, wez ka nang narinig about any new programs and developments about new centers of cultures and arts, museums and anything. Wez man lang redevelopment of great and original Pinoy Architectures around (read: bahay kubo hehe). An daming great living museums out there na nakahambalang and never developed. Want a sample? Cagsawa Church at the foot of Mayon. Old Spanish-style houses?

Walang budget ba kamo?! I heard na merong salary increases ang mga gobyernetch officechairs to about Php500 million at mukhang nakalimutan that these gobyernetch officechairs have millions and millions of allowances at ang sweldo nila is just a token token sum’tin sum’tin. It’s a very tough call, pero utang na loob, ibigay nyo na sa lola nyo, after all, walang santo at santang opisyales sateng gobyernetch!

For WORLD PEACE, pag nanalo aketch to be the First Woman President of our turd world kawntri, me santacruzan kahit pasko becoz ayokong maging Taliban ang ateng mga treasures at bayaang maging pulbura dahil yun ang ating identity. Believe ako that we Pinoys and the Philippines have great arts and culture to match the best in the world at kelangan lang na ang leadership nang gobyernetch ang manguna. Lukaret lang nga ang lola Imelda nyo but heck, who followed her arts and culture contributions anyway?

I cannot help but agree with your post. Regardless of her “kurapnes” marami siyang naidulot sa bansa. Like the Cultural Center of the Philippines.. isa yan sa mga pride naten.

The last time I went home, I was saddened by the fact na nabubulok na ang Metropolitan Theater.

I agree! Not because I was born and raised in the north where the Marcoses are hailed as heroes and “the others” as villains but because i think Imelda really deserve the recognition.

[Reply]

ross September 8, 2008 at 10:29 pm

Inang!

That time, sa dami ng mga iniimbita nyang mga celebrities, she needed a place where to showcast our “beauty and talents” kaya meron tayong CCP etc

Dahil din sa beauty, one time she dispatched a plane to pick up Australian white sand for the opening of a new beach resort…alam nyo ba saan yun? heheh

Final words from Imelda — ” Long after I’m gone, the hospitals I built, the cultural centres, the hotels, the this, the that; many of these things were not built with government funds – it was with my creativity. And they will be there after I’m gone.”

O, bow tayo…

I still remember that during the Marcos regime, Bayanihan Dance troupe and the Phil Madrigal Singers are world renowned.

FILIPINOS FORGETS FAST March 16, 2011 at 12:08 pm

Tanga niyo rin noh? do you want me to list down all her “corruptness”. She may have done FEW things, but that is not compared to the MANY wrong, killings, and stealing she has done in her life. Don’t you people read your history books or participate in your classes? sus, ganon na ba kaimportante ang “CCP, Heart Center, Folk Arts Theatre, etc” sa inyo? whats more important, that “CCP, Heart Center, Folk Arts Theatre, etc” or the estimation of 5BILLION DOLLARS those heartless conjugal dictatorship husband and wife stole from our country. the money they spent on that “CCP, Heart Center, Folk Arts Theatre, etc” are just pennies to them. THEY SHOULD FIRST RETURN THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS THEY STOLE AND UP TO NOW ARE IN SWITZERLAND BANK, AND GOD KNOWS WHERE THEY KEPT IT.

i don’t even know why you people still have a heart to support these people. Imelda, her husband and their cronies doesn’t deserve any kindness just knowing little facts about them is enough to hate them.

apparently its true, FILIPINOS FORGETS FAST.

generations right now are easliy bribed by her SMALL doings but history will never change and will remain in OTHER people’s memory.
