I received a rather, interesting email from the philippine blog awards chorva chorva mga kunichiwa. I know that some avid readers of reyna nominated me here. I already sent them a thank you email personally – only to the ones that I knew. And if there are still others that I missed, thank you ever ever mga kunichiwa. Pramis, padadalhan ko kayo nang lobo at babolgam.

In the email, mga kunichiwa, there’s was this caveat:
I don’t know about you, but The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards Organizing Commitee has just made me a judge! Bwi hi hi hi! I’m not just a nominee, I am the next Judge Judy! Hahahaha! Eye swear, I’ll be the prettiest judge ever ever! Hahaha!
Let me explain my excellent opinion in a very rational, highly scholastic, uberly research and intelligent manner mga kunichiwa: Ba’t ako?! Ba’t di sila?! Ano yun? Judging was outsourced? Bwhahaha! Let them work gurl! You give the awards. You set the bar. Why don’t y’all choose from amongst the entries plastered here which of my entries meets your standards? Why would you let the nominee decide which is which? Charing lang! Make peace not war! Hallerr! Kung ako? Lahat nang parintisex, tuldok at kama, pati na yong mga sinulat ko ki Ka Pepe were da best and even meets Nobel Fisher Price judging standards. In my humble and rather highly and uber intellectual opinion, it doesn’t make sense to me.
They said, “These five posts should embody and represent the category the blog was nominated for.” Huh? This is like telling me, that for me to win this award, I need to design my blog according to this awarding body’s chorva standards. Whatever they are whatever the maybe, que sera sera!
Well, teka lang? I blog for my very own reasons, my wishes and kapritsos, according to my own tuldoks and principles, commas and standards, hyphens and decrees. Idagdag mo na ang rules nang hosting company ko. Meaning, I couldn’t care less if their blog awards exist or not. In other words, I believe that it’s their responsibility to determine if my entries matches with whatever standards they set. Yon bang tipong, “I was not born in this world to live up to your own expectations, nor were you born in this world to live up with mine. But if by chance we meet and see each other, chika chika and chorva chorva or sum’tin sum’tin, it’s gonna be beautiful. ” Korak?
So, for WORLD PEACE, I invite yung nakapirma sa email, “The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards Organizing Commitee” and whoever sent that email to come to momma, learn some social climbing techniques from Reyna, read my entries and choose which ones meet your standards, coz I ain’t writin’ nutin’ in here based on your own embodibodi. If by chance nasuka kayo sa sinulat ko, reboot or if swak ang sinulat ko to your standards, then wagi tayo both pakilo naten trophy nyo. Else, keri. I’ll be prancing around blogging, however the way I wish and at least you should adore me because I am giving you the traffic and attention that you long for. You know what I mean?

Isn’t it a no-brainer?
What about the best design award? How are they going to comply with that requirement? I am simply amazed by the list of the finalists–a blogger whose blog design was simply a collection of buttons and widgets falls under the best design category? Pakisampal ako ng mahina.
A blog which merely endorses beauty products in fashion, a finalist ?
Are they screening the nominees or did they ever visit the blogs? One blog was about reviewing movies and it falls under fashion and lifestyle? great.
And a blog that merely promotes his profession where travel is confined to tours in Manila is a finalist in the travel blog? sheesh while there are blogs which cover the whole Philippines and were not even nominees.
Why would a blog of a permanent resident or a citizen fall under Best OFW blog award? Hindi ba nila alam ang ibig sabihin ng OFW. Overseas Filipino Workers–a nomenclature that replaced the previous OCW to refer to Filipinos who work abroad on a temporary basis. Those who become permanent residents or citizens of other countries are referred now as overseas Filipinos or Global Pinoys.
To differentiate one from the other, an OFW has to secure documentation from the Department of Labor while an immigrant does not. I transitioned from an OFW when I got my working visa to come to the States got the greencard and became a citizen.
Last year many of the volunteers were winners too. Some influence peddling or playing favorites? hahaha
OH I don’t think my blog has a category.It is supposed to be a humor blog. But they do not find the humor. dark. hehehe.

to be fair naman, i think they made this kind of system to save time scrutinizing each and every nominated blog site that runs to thousands? hundred thousands? i think these judges are also busy with their respective blog careers(?) and don’t have enough time to do that laborious job. Kumbaga, they’re just asking you to put your best foot forward. Is that asking too much? If the answer is yes, you can submit 5 random articles. then finally there are only five finalists per category. would that be a lot for judges to read if they want the awards to be credible?
If they don’t have the time, why come up with the awards anyway.

hello ms. or mr. juvenile or young economist, ever since I never gave a big deal about this awards stuff because most of the times I stumble upon a newbie blogger that is far better than the winners themselves.
The point is why would you choose your own best article? Isn’t that too subjective? What I know is that in every awards, there should be objectivity. What if I myself thought that this article is the best yet the readers thought otherwise? does that make any difference?
If you don’t get it hehe sorry… better read it again.
There are two kinds of bloggers here in the blogosphere:
the ones who are so thirsty and hungry for an award that they will try and do anything just to get their hands on them (errr defend them) even though their blog sucks!
and the other ones are those who dont believe in any awards except coming from the readers themselves because they are the people who truly has the right to tell you if your blog excel or not for they read your stuff everyday of your blog choked life.
Fortunately most of us here belong to the latter, and sad to say, you’re not!
Please buy your own trophy.

Ang gulo talaga ng blog world. Palibhasa nasa internet lang tayo lahat, madali magpanggap, madali magsabi at gumawa ng kung ano-ano. Hindi mo alam kung sino ang totoo.
