Senator Barack Obama’s Acceptance Speech

Football stadium na, kulang pa to hold an audience for Barack Obama. Kawawang Oscar Awards na hindi man lang umabot sa average na 38 million-plus. Even George Bush last State of the Union address eh inabot lang nang 37.5 million viewers. Nielsen, yung ratings company dito sa USA stopped short of outright declaring it the most-watched convention event ever as its data for night-by-night, convention viewership only goes back to 2000. And get this, it did not even count those who watched it on a noncommercial outlet, à la PBS or CSPAN. Obama’s Thursday speech, delivered before about 75,000 at the football home of the Denver Broncos, not only topped this past year’s Oscars (32 million), but every night of the just-concluded Beijing Games (which, at its best, scored 34.9 million), and last spring’s American Idol finale (31.7 million).

It was fun watching and listening to all the speeches pati na yong mga pasaring ki McCain. And there were a number that were really funny.

    Like these ones:

  • We know John McCain can pay for those expensive shoes but ultimately, we are going to have to pay for all his flip-flops!
  • Before John McCain debates Barack Obama, he has to finish debating himself first!
