Nag-ring ang royal fone.

    Hinulugan ko nang venchingko sentimos.

  • Head Hunter –“I found your resume on we’re a monster dot com and we would like to talk to you for a chorvalais position in Washington DC. Are you free to talk right now?”

  • Reynz - *kilig* “Sure!”

So, ayun, nag-chikahan kami. I sent my bombastic resume. My walastic references and everything. Following day, pinag-sulat ako nang Executive Services Qualifications. Masyado daw kasing maganda ako and so they wanted to elevator me in a more upscale chorvalais. Hayop! It took me three (3) days to finish the ECQ na nag-mistulang thesis!


I sent it to them. Another fone interview. Another venchingko. Mukhang ako na.

The next day, I received another term paper to write. Gulo ako. Anoto? Graduate na ako nang barangay high school ah! Candidate Assesment chorva. Series of questions sya mga kunichiwa – trese – puta bad number! So, may I fill in the blanks and answered them in complete sentence. Inabot ako nang two (2) days. Siempre, nag-isip pa ako (read: copy/paste sa internet) Hehehe bakit? Mga SONA students lang ba?! Haller!!! Hahaha!

So, andun na, sama cedula and everything. She called again. Venchingko na naman. Chikahan to the max.

  • Head Hunter – “We have everything and we feel that you might be the person that we are looking for. Our next step is for you to fly to Chicago for a face to face interview. My secretary will make the arrangements. You leave out of Philadelphia International Airport in the morning and you will be back in the afternoon or early evening. Sounds good?”

Kilig ang lola. Pero ang translation ko: *dami na namang boylets tooooooo* Hahaha! Tuwang tuwa ang lola. Nag-mistulang opening cermony nang olympics ang paninigarilyo ko. Hehehe!

5 minutes later.

Tumawag uli.

Venchingko na naman.

Fone pal ko na ang gaga.

    Me tanong sya.

  • Head Hunter – But, are you qualified for the job?!

Reynz – Huh?!

    parang yung work ko ngayun, tanong sa kin kung magkano expectashun salary ekek, sabi ko, i earn this much from my last job, sabi nya, di raw nya kaya ibigay, naniwala ako, i accepted the offer, kahit piso piso lang, then i found out na yung dating tea boy na naging personnel manager, is earning ten times nung nag ttboy pa, nakuuuu! tas di ako nagreport for two days (after 2 months of working), tumawag, sabi ko double my salary, i’ll resume my work…PUMAYAG! hehehe.

    21. hehehe i remember tong dating American Express, when they hire Investment Advisor (ayan ha? ang ganda nang arrive) they’d put down kung ano anong qualifications, as in pag tinitigan mo, it’s from HS to College to MBA to PhD to whatever. Taz, 6-figure ang salary and everything. Yun pala, imahinasyon lang yon dahil mag-iistart ka sa minimum wage. Did you hear about them? Uber at nahuli kamo ang mga kagaguhan nila! hahaha

    23. SEL,

    not sure, but from my experience, i have never ever ever been interviewed nor hired by a company listed on monster ever. most of my past employers, i found them on the wanted ad on the sunday papers and another thru a friend.

    my trick is that, pag me opening sa monster taz recruitment agency ang napuntahan ko, hinahanap ko yong actual website nang company and i go there directly. dun ako nag-aaply and then dun ko rin nalalaman na yong pinost pala sa monster na opening eh pasu na pala - as in wala nang bisa. you’ll find that pag napunta ka sa actual website at sasabihing wala nang opening or that the opening has been filled up. pero yong sa monster (or even careerbuilder) eh open pa.
