D day mga kunichiwa for SONA 2008 ni Gloria. Senate President Manuel Villar and Speaker Prospero Nograles Jr opened the 2nd regular session of the 14th Congress. In attendance were members of the diplomatic corps. Only Miriam Santiago and Antonio Trillanes were absent as well as Jose de Venecia, Jr. Prayer led by Angara, national anthem naman was the UP Madrigal Singers. Wow, para pala syang Broadway Musical. As 1st time Speaker, Nograles delivered a speech. Laman nang speech? He was telling his colleagues to “live simply” and use government resources “wisely and judiciously”. They all drive luxury cars with those annoying weng-weng! Living simply talaga.
Busy rin ang mga kabataan. Most of them staged classroom walkouts and headed to Tandang Sora before heading to Commonwealth Avenue for the SONA 2008. Ewan, siguro me drama din sila dun. Participating schools include University of the Philippines, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, Adamson University, De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, and Arellano University, among others.
Eh, me usapan na pala earlier that they will have their own SONA 2008 with “people’s state of the nation address” near St. Peter’s church on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan, New Patriotic Alliance) secretary general Renato Reyes, said na they are thinking of filing charges against Director Geary Barias, chief of the National Capital Region Police Office. Nag-uusap usap sila ngayon if they will be allowed or kung i-honor ang earlier commitment. Andun sila ngayon sa tapat nang Ever Gotesco Mall, just before the church.
Kala nyo pulis lang ba at leftists? Hindi ah! Pati referee busy din! Ang referee are about 20 personnel of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR). Naka-posisyon na sila sa may Batasang Pambansa Complex to monitor possible human rights violations committed by either the police or the rallyists. Sabi ni Lawyer Carmen Rosete, head nang protection and monitoring group of the CHR’s National Capital Region office, yong mga monitor eh me mga video and still cameras. Para syang shooting nang either Survivor or Sex in the City.
Si Joseph Estrada naman, earlier he said na indi daw sya makikinig sa mga pantasya ni Gloria. Instead, he visited his son, Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, at the Senate Monday (ngayon, yun) and told reporters that he won’t even watch the State of the Nation Address on television, claiming that it will be full of lies. Pero, teka, diba Monday ngayon? Diba ngayon ang SONA 2008? Diba dun ang … well… ah ewan.
Si US ambassador Kristie Kenney said she is eager na to listen sa SONA 2008.
Ang PUP naman decided to suspend classes at all levels for the students to hear the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Ow?! Sa totoo lang noh?! Me kilala akong tiga-PUP! Hahaha! Dapat i-test ang mga yan sa SONA 2008! Hahaha
On the fashion side, most of the senators were in Barong Tagalog made of piña. Si Senator Loren Legarda had on a backless terno, which she said was designed by Paul Cabral and sewn by the women of Lumban, Laguna.
Si Gloria? Her gown is made of fabric developed by the Philippine Research Institute, an agency under the Department of Science and Technology. The fabric is a “natural blend of silk and pineapple fibers” produced in Misamis Oriental, processed in Manila, and woven in Aklan. The dye is derived from sabang, an indigenous plant. O, laban kayo?! That’s how you “live simply” sabi nga ni Nograles.

Sometimes we FILIPINO’s are very close minded that we didn’t even try to look on the other side of what has been made by the Government in achieving and providing better life for the poeple of this country thru the Leadership of her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. As an individual, I say that It’s not the fault of the President if the Price on FUEL and RICE in the WORLD MARKET increases. do not only critic one person, why not try to look at our Barangay Chairman? our Mayor? our Congressmen? our Governor? and the Senator that we voted? are they also perfect? are you also sure that they do not COrrupt? let us try to bend our five senses and be more responsible. let us not fight against the government rather support them to be able to provide the basic services and quality of life to us all…

puro nalang tayo paninira.. may nagawa ba ang paniniara nyo? lalo lang lumalala ang sitwasyun sa puro paninira nyo.. can we keep out mouth shut. yung mga nabanggit mo sa blog mo eh kailangan naman talaga yun eh except sa mga nag walk out na student na nagpapapansin lang. sino ba ang di gustong walang klase? regarding sa mga pulis, well we must secure the people not only inside sa senate but also outside, mahirap na baka may manggulo na naman at nakakahiya na sa ibang bansa. thats what you call peace. aight? at sa gown naman ni gloria eh di naman talaga yun mahal as in mahal.. i dunno but it was shown in the TV that its not the expensive syempre presidente yan at kailangan ay di rin cheap.. ikaw ? kung magiging presidente ka eh gusto mo ba maghubag? nakakhiya mo naman pag sinabi mo na 0o. ( this pertains to all who criticize the administration)

propeace,
think about this. what happens if the philippines is one big “YES MAAM” world? when you see things that’s badly run and corruption in your face and election stolen from someone else, as a responsible filipino citizen, you don’t shut up your mouth. you stand up. that’s what Jose Rizal taught us.
Kung ako magiging Presidente? That’s a hypothetical question. I won’t respond because my instant answer would be, isang batalyon ang boylets ko! HAHAHAHA

I am for the people… lets be very careful because thier are opposition who are using the peolple also… huwag masyadong magpadala…
nong time pala ng mga opposition? may progress din ba? wala rin bang Corruption? yan ang masaklap dahil nagbabatuhan ang both parties (ADMIN&OPPOSITION) tapos ang taong bayan ang nahihirapan…

Peoples voices should be heard. Di rin tayo politiko but its better that voices of the people gets heard. We cannot be set to one side of a corner and just die of hunger or if the government says jump, we don’t respond How High, instead that voice should say FU and I have enough of that sh*t and I want you in the government to do what’s good for the Filipino people. We have better medium now than before. Blogs are being read millions of individuals all across the globe. The people now in the government is more careful than ever. Why ? Because we are here. Sila yung mga leeches that wants to suck out the blood and sweat of the Filipino people. We must be careful who to vote. Traditional politicians are not to be trusted. They smile in front of the camera and doing the bird sign off it.
Most of us are to be blamed. We voted for them. What we need are young ones or the new generation that will lead our country to economic growth. A lot of the qualified people are OFW’s, they know the hardships of working away and earning money through hard work. Lawyers can’t be trusted. They are mostly the criminals and criminal minds.
What we can do is to continually do what we do. Voice our opinions. Though our voices are small, it is a way to be heard. It is the only way.
To all of you continue to the do the best with any means you can. These blogs are the best individual media to bring them the message. That we are here and looking after our welfare.
Mabuhay Po Kayong Lahat and Best Regards

rightly so!
but you see, there seems to be some form of desperation because right after the Marcoses and his cronies were gone out of power, that was pretty much what’s in the minds of the Filipino people that those new politicos were the new blood that will make the change. You could even count HER as one and voila! Most of the new ones that came in to power – from the mayors, governors and what have you, even secretaries have figured in on all sorts of questionable transactions read: corruption.

hello, I’m a student from Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan
Maraming Salamat Po.
