Musta kayo mga kunichiwa! Today, I’m taking you with me as I drive to Rehoboth Beach in the State of Delaware. The first state nang United States. Kahit makulimlim ang forecast nang PAGASA, kumikidlat at bumabagyo, kere… me mga lalaki dun! heheh!
“Off-route! Recalculating! In 400 meters, make a U-turn!” Yan ang madalas na isigaw nang navigator na to. Matigas ulo nang lola nyo. Pag me gwapo, nawawala ako sa highway. Kahit pulis, sinusundan ko. And since I got my navigator, will drive anywhere. Kahit na sa Surigao, Baguio or Bermuda.
And this is what my dashboard looks like. Journey’s playing. Umiiyak na ang kasama ko sa “Open Arms” ni Arnel. Mas maganda siguro kung nagkamali ka nang drive, taz ang navigator e nag-nga-nga-ngaw-ngaw nang “Tanga! Tanga! Tanga! Sinabi nang LEP! Sinabi nang LEP! Umikot ka! Umikot ka!!” Wala, puro “Off-route” lang to eh!
I’m now on the highway headed to the shore.
Sabi ko na senyo, ang July 4 is a religious holiday dito. Daming bangag sa highway. So, there’s a lot of cops flying around. Hide and seek ang dating. Nakatago lang ang mga yan dyan sa gilid at bubulaga na lang seyo.
So, as good citizen as I am, stick ako sa 60mph, about 100km/ph. Kung alam lang nila! Meyat-meya nito sa highway, lilipad na ako at 80mph. Hehehe!
That’s Center City Philadelphia. Andyan and opisina nang hayop na si Doreen!
Kelangang mag-exit muna ako. Me pi-pik-apin lang me.
Ang exit andyan lang sa ilalim nang maiksing tunnel.
Napadaan sa South Philly. Philadelphia is very well known for its “Philly Cheese Steak”. Geno’s, very well known place to see Hollywood movie stars lining up for a taste of Philly Cheese Steak. Gaya nang nasa piktyurakang to.
Pag indi magkasya sa Geno’s because this place could really get crowded, they go to this place.
I picked up this guy. Isang mayamang maarteng kebigang pinag-papasensyahan ko lang. Ayaw mag-drive. Pahalang kasi ang kotse nyang tumakbo.
That’s the Lincoln Memorial Field. Dyan sila naglalaro nang piko.
Home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Pala. Sori.
That’s the Wachovia Center. Home of the Philadelphia Flyers. Flyers. Mga barakong bampira.
That’s the Philadelphia International Airport. Dyan ako sinundo ni Chuva Chienes. Sa Departure Area. Nag-depart daw kasi ako sa Manila. Amputa di kami nagkita! Ilang bwan kong di binati! Grrrr!
That’s Wilmington, Delaware which is about 30 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport. This is where you’ll find the headquarters of major credit card companies.
Anywhere you drive in the United States, except rural areas, walang baku-baku and highways are wide. Pwede kang humilata sa gitna. Mag-blog.
That’s a bridge. One great engineering wonders they did in Delaware.
Nice, suspended bridge, huh? An sarap siguro mag-sabit nang mga labada dyan.
Yes, you can drive 80mph on the Express Lane, you don’t even have to slow down. Your bank account automatically gets charged. Toll charges? $1.
More driving…
Kakapagod, I thought we would check out Madam Auring and see if there is a chance na ma-meet ko ang isang Islander. Hehehe!
Charing lang mga kabisyo. Actually, we decided to stop by at a Rest Area.
To kasing kasama ko, eto, gusto atang humada! Hehehe! Of all places, dito pa!
Batang de las rosas. I don’t understand! Ba’t kaya ako mahilig sa bulaklak?! Why Matilduh? Why?
Bulag. Di makita ang daan.
Napagod ako. Time to rest.
We’re now in Dover. That’s the Dover Speedway. Karera nang mga Nascar na walang sidecar.
That’s the famous Dover Air Force Base. Nakuuuu!!! Daghan gwapo diay uy!!! Nag-apply ako na cleaner nang barracks. Instead na interbyuhin ang lola, pinadalhan ako nang Restraining Order. Bawal lumapit sa Dover Air Force Barracks. Bakit kaya?
One gorgeous golf course next to the Dover Air Force Base. Parang sarap taniman nang kamote.
More driving!
We were getting hungry. Me nakita akong guapong Polish guy. Kelangan makilala ko to. “I LOVE YOU!” hehehe! huminto ang loko! Humahagikhik! Chika minute, pati cedula nakuha ko. Hahahah! “Do you know where we could find some dicks?”
Nagulantang sya. Di nya alam kung ano sasagot! Hehehe! Napahagikhik na lang! “Its right accross you, Sir!” Oh. Crabby Dicks!
We parked our car.
Tshirts greeted us inside!
They have some reallllly serious rules here.
Ohhhh my gawddd! “I LOVE YOU!” Chinika ko ang guapong waiterer namen. “I heard your Crabby Dick is good. Can I order you?”. Sumagot sya… “Hehehe! For the right price, I can be part of the menu, Sir!” Ekkk! Mukhang mahal to!
“Lalagyan ko nang rat poison ang pagkain nang dalwang gagong to! Lalo na tong huklubang mapagkunwaring malditang too! Grrrr!”
I had fries and fried oysters. $18.00 (Php800 sum’tin)
Bugs had soft crabs. $26.00! (Php1,300 sum’tin)
Pucha! Mahal nang dicks ditooo!!! No choice, but…
That’s all folks! We’re hold up in the hotel! Bumabagyo sa labas! Me hanging balaklaot at baha ang kalsada kaya walang hada. Eto, nag-ba-blag! Hahahaha!!! More to come mga kabisyo! Hahahaha!

di pa me naka-drive from here (philly) to wilmington, north carolina ba? kung 6 hours and varginia beach, siguro mga 2 hours from VA to wilmington, right? so, id say mga 8 to 9 hours? yong wilmington na dinaanan namen is in delaware ateng.

Have you seen the movie Invincible starred by mark wahlberg. Its a true story about phily eagles’ success in football. Maganda sya. dyan ata halos shinooting yung film. Hinahanap nga kita kasi baka napadpad sa mukha mo yung kamera LOL
Reynz may navigator din ako. pag napunta ako sa manila ang sinasabi nung navigator namin “wag dyan wag dyan may pulis” tapos pag nasa edsa ka naman “ayun ayun may taga mmda, turn right kasi mangongotong”

luma na actually ang navigator ko. eto yong unang labas nang mga navigation systems, kaya eto, dahil di ko na-a-update, minsan dinadala ako sa dead end hehehe
maganda pag ganun ang navigator yong hinahanap ang mga pulis hahaha lalo na ang mmda, aba! natiketan nila ako sa manila anoh? hahaha

mas matindi pag si chuva ang navigator, as in dadagukan ka, mumurahin ka pa pag nagkamali nang exit, at kahit na nakarating ka na sa destination mo, mumurahin ka pa! buti nga naimbento na tong navigator na to hahahahah

dito mauutak ang ibang county para lang makakolekta, minsan 60mph, biglang nagiging 30mph at dose-dosenang buwaya naka-abang!

huwaw. it feels like kasama mo kami sa road trip mo. malamang eh yan ang dinaanan ni mudra kse yung isa nyang pinsan eh jan din sa delaware! ang mudra ko pagdating na pagdating sa LA ang sabi agad eh steak daw ang gusto kainin. dapat pala naghintay sya pumunta sa philly. hehe. kainggit ang food! mukhang ansarap!
