I’m sure you’d say its money. Who would say no? We all wanted to work for Microsoft or Google and be pampered. We all want to work for a company that shell out year-end bonuses or partnership shares or stock options. The ones who’d give the highest percentage added up to your 401-k savings. Straight out of college, these are the types of companies that we are looking for. We all wanted to work for the best. Heck! Our counterpart in the Philippines just want work! Period!
Or could it be the title? Titles impress people. It’s a sign that you have accomplished something. So, if you’re a “Manager”, it’s a lot better sounding than being a regular push paper employee, right? It’s even more impressive if your title is “Vice-President”. Aw, let’s get it to the top! What about a “CEO”. And the fancier your title becomes, the fancier your lifestyle and the more friends and network you have.
Could it be flexibility? With flexibility, you are able to manage your personal life vis-à-vis your career? For some reason, I seem to believe that most women would go along this line. Correct? It’s tough to be a working mom and it’s even tougher if you’re a single mom, so most definitely, you probably prefer an employer that gives you a lot of flexibility in working hours or even working from home by telecommuting.
Could it be relatives? Political connections? So that you could just lambast everyone because you know you’re very well protected?
Could it be the mortgage? The credit cards? Your kids tuition fees? So, you try to stick it in deeper and lick through the ugliness because of responsibility. Right? The more you can’t leave because you see your daughter or your son’s picture on your desk.
You could have all the reasons in the world for what really matters the most to you at work, but at the end of the day, where you spend most of your living years, which is about 35 to 40 hours a week, what really matters the most is the work environment. It’s their people skills and your people skills. It’s the inter-activity. It’s not just how you treat people, your staff, your fellow employees and your boss. It’s also how your boss treats you, its how the management treats you and its how your co-workers treat you.
My name is Reynz and this time, I could finally answer the number one most asked question about me. I work as Director of Finance for one of the largest chorvalais industry in the United States and I just quit my job today, 17th of June, 2008. If you’re a regular here, you probably have an idea the who and the why. My last day at work will be on June 30, 2008.

Huwaaaaaaat? Is it for real? Gosh, ang dami ng blogger na nag-quit na ng work, nagbabalak or yong iba naman lumipat ng work. I don’t know if this a sign or what. Gusto ko na rin kasi lumipat. May mga moments na I feel so depressed, gusto na mag-quit kahit wala pang malilipatan. Pero madali naman ako mahismasan. Anyways, I should congratulate you! It’s such a brave move…

for me, basta maganda ang work environment at nage-enjoy ako, kahit hindi kalakihan ang sweldo ok na sa akin.

hi reyns, kaya mo yan! ako din kapag nilait lait na ako sa trabaho ko nilalayasan ko agad, kahit pa daming nagpupumilit na mag stay ako.
ilang beses na ring nangyari sa akin yan - one time minura ako sa telepono e di naman ako may kasalanan; manay nung araw din na yon nag resign ako na isang aking public relations and marketing manager. manigas sila.
eto pa isa — nilait lait ako kasi daw hindi ako marunong magbenta ng ads, aba, sabi ko sa inyo na lang yang trabaho na yan ang tunay kong trabaho dito e editor po ano - lintek na pinagbebenta ako ng ad space, lumayas ako ng thailand at pumalik ng pinas.
at marami pang iba, ang punto ko - makakahanap ka ng trabaho na mas maganda pa. am sure of that! good luck!

Funny thing lang Reynz, my last reporting sa current work ko is on June 28, 2008 then I’ll start on my new job sa isang kilalang investment company sa Europe pero dito pa din sa Singapore sa IT pa rin syempre.Nagkataon lang ba hehe.
Pero lam mo ba, nong na sa Pinas ako,don ko na experience na nag irrevocable resignation ako, kasi sinabihan ba naman ako ng Boss ko na “Utusan lang daw ako”, medyo masakit pag kaka sabi,eh alam ko naman sa sarili ko na naging maayos naman akong empleyado at ginawa ko naman ng ang tama bilang isang employee sa company na yon. Although hindi tayo perfect pero lam natin na minsan may mga shortcomings tayo,kaso as in “Ku@#$@L” kasi yong bagong manager na yon.
Pero oks lang,kapalit pa non eh mas magandang kapalit.

dapat lang magresign kung di ka na happy sa work mo. malas ni doreen, di na sya makakakita ng kasing ganda ng reyna. royalty ka naman kaya okay lang kahit wala kang trabaho for a while. isanla mo muna ang korona mong gawa sa lata ng darigold, umuwi sa pinas and paint the town red!

congrats, dat’s one brave move! aba maganda kapalit nyan 6 mos na ko sa work happy pa naman pero I know di ako tatagal sabi kasi ng husband ko sa state din daw ako work parehas nya hehehe eh nasa bundok kami ng tralala pano un isa bakante 100 aplikante. well the thing is nagdridrive na ko sa freeway papunta sa city practice para makahanap work kahit di alam ng lolo mo patay ako pagnalaman non baka kunin ang susi ng kotse… inggit ako sa yo!

i’ve just been told by someone today to quit my job. i was absent yesterday because i’m sick. 2 weeks straight i did my job with no day off. and the joke is on me. and i’m considering quitting…that somebody will be my “career consultant”.
nah, i want to stay. i’ve cleared up my head now.
i’m sorry you’ve quit, but i’m happy because you have the guts to rely on yourself in this everchanging times.
