The Sea Gypsies of Davao
On our way to the Samal Reef Diving site, together with the guys from the Carabao Dive Center of Davao, we were swarmed by kids while walking along the banks of the Sta. Ana Wharf. A little later, we saw them on the waters. They were all over the place. Beng told me that those kids belongs to the Badjao tribe.
The Badjao are popularly known as “Sea Gypsies” of the Sulu and Celebes Sea. The name “Badjao” is a Malay-Bornean word which connotes “man of the seas” or Orang-Laut in Bahasa Malayo. Many badjaos live most of their lives in houseboats, which occasionally cluster in moorings near certain strands and beaches, so as to do business in nearby market places of the land-dwelling Sama and Tausug. In the markets they barter their sea products for such farm produce as fruits and cassava. On the shore they also fetch drinking water, gather firewood and gather materials needed in the construction and repair of their houseboats.

Road widening project, Ortigas Avenue Ext.
I noticed a lot of activity along Ortigas Avenue Extension mga kabisyo. There’s the new Filinvest Condominiums being built. They cleaned up the squatters in some parts of Floodway, although you still see them hanging right on the banks of Floodway which is really a sore, sore sight. There’s road widening chorva dito mga kunichiwa.

How GPS Tracking can solve crimes
With the recent celebrated bank robbery in Cabuyao, Laguna where the robbers massacred bank employees, I can’t help but think if installation of vehicle tracking device on all cars in Manila would help reduce crimes or robberies like what happened in Laguna. It’s simple, if all of the vehicles in Manila are equipped with this technology, it would be easy to trace the suspects. However, I’m sure there will be some people who might not like the idea because it now borders between privacy. GPS Tracking Key is a small, pocket sized device that receives signals from the twenty-four Department of Defense GPS satellites orbiting the earth. The internal computer accurately determines the GPS location of the device within 2.5 meters and records this data every second. Because of this, it’s very easy to pinpoint the location of a particular car. The problem is, it’s difficult to distinguish or determine what car will be outfitted with this device without violating certain privacy rules. But you see, with the advantage of ease of use, Google Earth capability, it’s accuracy of tracking and it’s small and easily concealable, this would be like a perfect equipment to solve crimes. As a matter of fact, it has already solved a crime.

Quality and fine kids beddings
I remember when Sarah and her husband were expecting Milo then. I have to drive them to the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania in search for Kids Bedding. We went to a famous furniture store and then to an upscale department store. We did not find what Sarah was looking for. We continued our shopping the following week to no avail. That’s how excited my friends were. They wanted only the best and the most beautiful for their new family addition. But then again, most couples are probably like my friend. Very excited, very happy and tenderly loving the child as they expect him to arrive. Every couple wants something wonderful for their kid. Nothing less. Worry no more. Jojo Designs bedding products have some really great and wonderfully designed beddings for kids which they will surely enjoy. Beyond Bedding is their exclusive manufacturer. They offer luxury beddings that will truly be remembered by your kids when they grow up. These are luxury beddings at some reasonably affordable prices.
Durable metal buildings
The sub-prime crisis might have hit the US economy and construction might have slowed down a bit, but there’s one area where construction and rehabilitation services are ongoing and is getting strong. It’s the construction of apartment buildings. Investing in Apartment Building is solid at this time because of so many homeowners moving from single houses to apartment complexes. One of the effects of the sub-prime problem was that, most homeowners sold their houses and moved into apartment complexes. This is the reason for the upswing in rentals last year and continuing on this year. While the population is waiting for the real estate market to recover, most homeowners are opting for apartments at the moment. They’re waiting for the right time when they could be a homeowner again. But if you are into development of apartment building to capture the current market upswing, consider Apex Buildings which are designed and engineered to give you a quality building that will meet your needs while providing you with an exceptional return on your investment through many years of low-maintenance service. When you are investing in a real estate, you’re looking for a good-quality building like Apartment Metal Buildings that will not have too many maintenance problems once they get turned over to you after construction.
The exciting sports betting
Online gaming could be very exciting. It’s a great past time. It’s also another great way to earn money online. There are a number of them online where they offer free lessons so that you can prepare and hone your online gaming skills. Now, make sure that before you place any bet online, that you are comfortable with the software they are using. Check out any bonuses that are also being offered. You may also download some software where you could practice your skills. Always, be aware that you might lose money if you start betting and there’s no assurance that you will get your money back. However, for a well-prepared gambler, you might just be able to win some more. One of the most popular recreational past time that my friends in Philadelphia would indulge into on Friday nights is Sports Betting. It’s a very entertaining game and they love it because they sometimes win a big amount of money. I’ve seen them doing sports betting many times on Friday nights over some beers and fun talk. Pangiti-ngiti, silent mode. Pag sa kama, uma-alarma. Yon bang sasampal-sampalin ka kabisyo! Taz duguan ang mga labi mo taz sasabihin sa tenga mo “I love you!” at sa kabilang tenga naman eh malumanay na “Pautang naman, o!”. Hahaha! Charing! Pantasya lang yon mga kunichiwa! Hahha!
Hmpt! One time, mega asked nang andalucia. Me sakit daw yong kung sino mang ponsyo pilato sa barrio nila. Ginawa pa akong medicare. Gibsung ang lola. Then I found out, kasama pala si Christy nagbakasyon sa Bicol ang mga pokpok. Si Christy pala eh syota nya. Grrrr!

Rally in Davao
When I was in Davao City with Ambo, Malen, Beng and her kids, we hired a taxi going to the wharf to catch the boat that would take us to the Pearl Farm Beach Resort. That was May 11, 2008. That day, there was a strike in the city. They were demanding for lower gas prices. So the taxi driver was frantically calling his home base to see where the rallyists were to avoid them. I suggested to our driver to tell the rallyists that we are family. It didn’t work. As soon as we hit the red light, there was this old lady lambasting the driver in Bisaya to join the rally. She said our driver was a traitor considering that he and his family will be affected by the rising prices and that he was totally being inconsiderate to their cause. I ranted inside the taxi about why prices will not come down that Malen was nearly gonna smack me! Hahaha!
I was ready to lecture the woman in defense of our poor taxi driver. I will blatantly say that she was wrong. Dead wrong that they will be able to bring the prices neither down nor even convince the government to bring them down. I’m not pro or anti-government on this issue, but there are just things that some rallyists need to understand. Hear me out.
WHY PRICES WILL NOT COME DOWN
