Growing up in Barrio Siete, I have always wondered why people have a lot of money. Truckshit of money. Shitloads of money. And we don’t have any. Well, we do, piktapos ko magbenta nang isang latang kamoteng kahoy sa lata nang biskwit. Gurl, let me tell you sumtin’, I have to work my ass just to have money, then. I still do. Huhusayan ko na lang ang aking pagiging pokpok. Damn it! Kelan ba ako magiging bilyonaryo?!
Seriously! I have always wondered how people lived in swanky neighborhoods, clanky glasses, boodles and BMW’s, gucci’s and Hongkong, gated communities and all that. I have always wondered how they got their wealth, money and power. As I grew up, I began to understand things. True, there are some beautiful Pinoy success stories worth emulating (although mahirap i-emulate ang talented guy na to!), but mostly to some, it’s spelled corruption, manipulation at kung ano ano pang contractwalization.
There’s a lot of shit that ails our very own Philippine society. Honestly, we’re still turd world kawntri and quite frankly, growing up, I was made to believe by all these crap lifestyle writers that there is in fact a high society lifestyle worthy of emulation. In a turd world kawntri? Where rice is tingi-tingi? There’s a high society? How high?
Whoever created and made them as high society people, blame it on the stupid and dysfunctional Philippine media who hires writers who have no freaking qualifications at all to write and who after all, have some really shady - very shady behinds! Where are the respectable media writers who rightfully earned their spot as truly noble writers of Philippine media and kick the shit out of these wannabe dysfunctional writers? They don’t belong to your group. They were the ones who bombarded us that high society is real. They are the ones who molded our minds that they should be put on a pedestal. They are the ones who made them look pretty that we Barrio Siete people should look upon as role models. That’s why I agree with Kitty Go, except the hanging part.
True, there are people and writers who would speak about what ails our society, but no one listens. It would take an Australian blogger to tell us that we are just totally fucked up. Why is that?
And so the plot thickens.
I found this old news here. I don’t know this Tantoco guy nor the story behind the story. Are there some traces of truth in what he says? Will he change his mind should the other camp finally sends him the magic $70,000?
I am just as riveted as the 1 million readers.
For WORLD PEACE! If you’re a member of these wannabe high society in our turd world kawntri, why don’t you donate and build a highway in Ifugao, Banaue and the Mountain Provinces to better the lives of the society there? Now, those are the truly high society that darn needs your help!

naniniwala talaga akong hindi fair ang buhay…may mga sadyang ipinanganak sa karangyaan na sadly, nagsisitandang paurong at sakim….ano nga kaya kung lahat tayo ay mayaman? o kaya lahat na lang mahirap? (ay hirap naman nuon, didilat lahat mata natin sa gutom)
sa totoo lang, pangarap na lang ang giginhawa pa tayo..kasi nga mayayaman na at kumakain naman ng tama sa oras, nagagawa pang nakawan ang mga kapwa na walang-wala sa buhay.

sad talaga ang nangyari sa mga Filipino, maraming hindi makatanggap na pangit ang naging resulta ng lahi natin pero pangit talaga, ‘yun ang patuloy kong pinag-aaralan, bakit nga ba naging ganito ang ugali ng mga Filipino? pero sa mga malalayong lugar sa Pilipinas na di inaabot ng sibilisasyon matitino pa din ang mga Filipino.

I had a very interesting sunday conversation with Kuta. She’s from Arizona. We talk every Sundays and one of the topic that we were discussing is the dysfunctionality of Pinoys. I asked her - you think we (as Filipinos) just have this ugly and inborn crooked mentality? Then I recited some proofs. Like, unending corruption, from our grandparents times to today. Then, Pinoys na iisahan ang kapwa Pinoys. Take the recent Investment Scam by Hao of Pilar, Sorsogon (Royal Trading). Then, take the case of this Gucci Gang. Those are still questions to me. Up to today. Why is it? How come we’re just totally fucked up? It’s somewhere along the line something went wrong and it was no longer corrected.

you know what, ganun ang tingin ko matagal na, masakit mang tanggapin, i think dahil sa dami nang dayuhang sumakop sa Pilipinas, sa dami ng iba’t ibang kaisipang isiniksik sa isip ng mga Filipino, ang pangit ng result. ‘yung akala ko noong magagandang values na nakalakihan ko ang pangit na ng dating, like, “pakikisama”, sa sobrang “pakikisama” ng Pinoy nagdulot ng sobrang corruption. I wrote an essay after EDSA 2 (yes i was there and i regret it) entitled “EDSA 100″, sabi ko, kahit umabot pa ng EDSA 100 hindi magbabago ang takbo ng Pilipinas dahil sa mga Filipino, may dugong corrupt ang lahat ng mga Filipinong nabubuhay ngayon (sori). Dapat sa Pilipinas bloodshed. Ang dapat kina Marcos, Erap, GMA, at kung sino-sino pang mga public officials na nagnanakaw ine-execute! Para matakot ang mga Filipino! Kasi tayong mga Filipino, napakalambot ng puso natin, napakabilis nating magpatawad, at ang dahilan ay ang Catholic religion…teka hahaba ng hahaba ito, pasensya na.

hahaha! hope indi magalit si bluep! but - i have my own reservations sa church (nasapok na ako nang pinsan kong pari nito hehehe), especially pagdating sa poverty, sex education at ang political inclinations. but let me leave it there kasi si blue uupakan ako! hahaha
but it’s disappointing dahil i believe kumpleto na ata ang laws naten, enforcement na lang ang kelangan. for example - it’s very commendable na pag corrupt ka kalaboso ever - you have no idea, i was very happy with that. until pinalayas nang you know who si you know who after na ma convict.

Hi kablog, i agree with what you wrote except the last part about Catholic Religion.
Why do we stubbornly blame Catholicism for this? Religion has nothing to do with this. If ever the Catholic Church in the Philippines had been involved in the EDSA sequels, yet it’s not the Church as a whole. What a bishop did in the past does not equate with that of the Catholic church as a whole specially in matters out of religious function.
Alam mo sakit nating mga Pilipino? kapag hindi na natin mablame ang sarili natin, bineblame naman natin ay government, church o kaya mga pari. I’m defending the Catholic Church in light of common sense and objectivity and not through biased preference. I have the guts to tell the world my piece about my religion because I was “in” there and somehow has all the experiences that could negate public perception.
Another problem with us is that we have double standards. We blog against the Catholic Church as if it is Satan’t kingdom, yet we have no guts to blog against Moslems because we know, you know and I know that once you do this, moslems will get angry, hostile and violent.
You comment on the Catholic Church blatantly, but do you have the guts to comment and blog against the moslems? Kasi the Catholic church is the safest target because you know in your heart that the Church won’t retaliate.
If ever kaya na naimpluwensyahan ang buong mundo ng EDSA Fever and then in the final analysis the world blamed us for the nonsensical trend, papayag ka ba na kasalanan natin lahat ang kaguluhan sa kanilang bansa? same thing. let us not blame others or any institution as a whole. Generalization breeds discrimination.
I think we need to grow up because somehow we are all responsible to what had happened in our country. Yes all of us. and not the Catholic religion. To go against the Catholic Religion that stood against persecution for 2000 years is like a fly charging towards a rolling boulder!
Eto lang pinapanghawakan ko every time I give my opinion o sumasali sa debate. If I have no “firsthand” knowledge of things, I just shut up and leave it to the experts.

PS. Don’t get me started with the INC’s,Born again Christians, and other denominations. Pero I have no conscience to do that because I respect their faith so much that many of them are my friends in and out of the blogosphere. If one cannot tolerate the religion of the other, or if one breeds hate and contempt against another religion, then might as well “tie a mill stone around your neck and throw yourself in the depths of the sea!”. It just shows how self centered others can be. And yet somepeople have the guts to say na hahaba ang usap pag religion na ang pinag-usapan.
I dare anyone who ridicules or mock my religion to go to my blog and debate with me… Bring It On! this is my forte so let the Debates begin!

My Apologies pare haha. I’m upbeat because my reactions are just the results of my numerous experiences re bashing Catholics online. I’m not boxing out Kablog solely, but all detractors of the Church in general. Ewan medyo napapagod na kasi ako sa issue na palagi Catholic Church ang tinitira at sinisisi kahit wala naman sila pruweba, tapos idadamay buong katoliko. Hehe di naman ako mainit ulo, upbeat lang! kilala nyo naman ako na pag sa arguments medyo malalalim ang words ko. Pero nothing personal or singular about kablog. Kung free sya sa comment nya, free din ako ipahayag comment ko. Di kolang kasi maintindihan kung bakit palagi tinitira katoliko eh hindi naman natin tinitira ang iba religion sa paniniwala nila. I just want to promote religious tolerance and harmony kasi pwede naman tayo lahat mag co-exist at maging magkakaibigan without making the religion a big deal. Kaya sana tama na hmmmpt!

My apologies. Nothing personal really as I have stated above on my reply to KK. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. But I hope you also have realized that what you written above have hurt the sensibilities of other catholics. I am not judging you. I’m just stating a fact of the general behavior of people. If you were hurt by that statement Im sorry. If you know that you are not like that then I think there’s no need to be hurt. Sometimes truth hurts.
Like what you said I don’t know you that’s why I reiterated above that my reactions are not about you. Please READ AGAIN.
You also said you do not know me, therefore you cannot say if I’m angry or just provoking others to reply. But then again I’m not.
What you supplied above is your reaction when you got hurt. Same thing with us. Baka mas malala pa kung iba pa nagcomment dito.
You see kablag, one lesson you have to learn is you don’t just blurt out comments regarding religion, race, and nationality. even if you use the word “Christian” because you will really receive flak from the people. This is a very sensitive issue and you know that. The mere fact that you commented on the Catholic religion, you should be prepared in dealing with comments like these. You should face the consequences of your comments. Kahit tanong mo sa mga readers dito, mellow pa comments ko sa taas.

just want to leave something to ponder upon: you accused me of being un-christian (yata), yet you were the first one to “blame the Catholic Religion for the fault of EDSA”. Who among us is un-christian? the one who replied to a provocation? or the one who instigated the provocation and insinuation?
I read all your comments above and I do respect them, but read again everything you said because they all contradicted what you first wrote above.
I don’t have to explain if angry or not because like what you said you don’t know me. BUt rest assured this is not personal. Let’s just be careful in using religion in our comments next time because if there is anyone here who has the sole right to scrutinize the catholic church, it is the Priests and Nuns themselves and not us ex-sems. laymen and ex-catholics. You have to be “in” it to know everything.

Nagulat ako sa reaction, so I think I need to explain myself. Sorry muna kung may na-upset ako, at sorry din “Reynz” at parang naging thread ito.
Anyway, unang-una, ayoko at hindi ako nakikipag-talo when it comes to religion, kasi I don’t believe in religion, para sa akin, “religion is the best business in the world”. But I respect those people who believe. At sa tingin ko ay hindi ko na kailangang i-explain ang sarili ko sa pananaw kong ito.
I was baptized Catholic, and I respect the Catholic religion so much that’s why I stayed away from it because I cannot be a “real good” Catholic. Hindi ko kayang pumasok sa loob ng simbahan dahil marami akong nilalabag na kautusan ng simbahang Katoliko. Sa aking pananaw kung ikaw ay miembro nang ano mang relihiyon o organisasyon at hindi mo naman kayang sundin o gawin ang mga kautusan o patakaran, quit ka na lang. Puede ba yung vegetarian na kumakain paminsan-minsan ng meat? Or Pari na mag-aasawa? Ayaw ng military ng mga gay and lesbian ‘diba? Huwag ipilit! Discrimination? No! ‘Yun ang kanilang batas! Kaya either baguhin ang batas or magtayo ng gay & lesbian military. Walang gulo!
Pinipigil ng relihiyon ang mga bagay na nakakapag-paligaya sa akin at sinasabing “mali” ito, pues, quit! Ayokong buwagin ang isang matibay na pader dahil lamang sa pangsariling kaligayahan. Pero bakit ko naman pipigilin ang sarili kong gawin ang mga bagay na nakakapag-paligaya sa akin kung wala naman akong ina-agrabyado? Ang motto ko kasi sa buhay ay ito, “gawin mo ang lahat nang makakapagpaligaya sa iyo hangga’t wala kang natatapakan o naaapektuhang ibang tao”. Para sa akin, isang bagay lamang ang maling gawin sa mundong ito, “ang pumatay ng “buhay” or “to kill “life”.
Naniniwala akong may Supreme God na nagbigay ng buhay sa tao. Nandito sa mundo ang impierno at langit. Artists interpretation lang yung mga “apoy at kumunoy” na impierno, at ganun din yung langit na naka-all white lahat ang mga tao, tapos mababagal ang mga kilos at mga nakangiti lahat? Hesusmaryosep!
Ang pagkakamali ko hindi dapat “Catholic” ang ginamit ko, dapat “Christian”, but I’m sure marami ding mag-rereact. I cannot “blog” or say anything about the “Moslems” because maliit lang ang kaalaman ko sa relihiyon nila. At hindi ko ginawang example ang Catholic religion dahil iniiisip kong hindi naman nila ako titirahin, but ang Catholic religion kasi ang “sa tingin” ko ang may malaking “role” kung ano ang mga Filipino ngayon dahil iyon ang aking “nakikita”. Alam kong magkasalungat tayo sa pananaw na ‘yon ngunit hindi ako nakikipagtalo sa bagay na ito.
About the “double standard” you’ve mentioned, I don’t know what you are talking about because I don’t believe in Satan. Again, Satan is just another artist’s character! Satan is so overrated! Sa aking pananaw lang ulit ‘yun ha.

Parang napaka-close nila kay Lord! Parang napaka-lakas nila kay Lord! Inggit ako!
Naniniwala akong binigyan tayo ng buhay ng Diyos dito sa mundo at bahala na tayong gawing langit o impierno ang buhay natin dito! Walang “malakas” sa Diyos, wala S’yang favoritism, kanya-kanya tayong diskarte. Pinapalakpakan N’ya yung “bongga” ang buhay dito sa mundo at “deadma” na lang S’ya ‘dun sa mga laos ang buhay!

I won’t reply to your litany because I already said my piece. I have tones of blogs to visit and this is just a waste of time. it’s not my fault if you didn’t get my point. I got your’s and I am not compelled to reply because you are so stubborn to listen or read between the lines. Haha. kaw na bahala. sagutin mo ito o hindi. It’s really hard to argue with…
Just wanted to say that the blog owner of reynaelena.com has nothing to do with this. In fact she is so equal when it comes to opportunity, sometimes I upset her by making these blatant comments against her readers. But for pete’s sakes no one is asking you to leave this blog or humiliating you or anything. I’m just saying that you have to be prepared to all kinds of criticism because everyone is unique and have their own mind setting. It’s really up to you if you don’t want to comment here, I’m just saying that reynz has nothing to do with our argument and wag mo sana idamay blog nya. I knew it, sabi ko na nga ba mapapansin ang capital letters, hindi ko kasi alam kung paano gawing italic or solid para maihiwalay ang sagot ko, yun lang at wala nang ibang reason ang pag-gamit ng capital letters.

Kasi ganito yun kablog. I reacted on your comment not only on the last part but on the entirety of your comment. Though I agree on the first part but the last part was vague kasi nga pinutol mo na.
I don’t have to explain it kasi si reynz nga nakuha nya yung gist ng last part ng comment mo, kaya nga sinabi nya na he will leave it to me. Ibig sabihin noon ang basa talaga sa comment mo ay you are targeting the catholic church. Hindi lang ako nagreact remember? Pare isang advice, kung ako sayo titigil ako kasi lahat ng argument mo palusot at kahit yung una ko explanation sa taas di mo na nga magets eh much more kung sasagutin ko pa mga ka ekekan mo. for your own good na lang, para lang di ka magmukhang engot. kasi kanina mo pa sa akin sinasabi na sagutin ko yung tanong mo eh ayan nga at tutuklawin ka na ng answer. hahaha o baka gusto mo ihighlight ko lahat pa para mo lang maintindihan.

Nakakahiya nga namang tumanggap ng pagkakamali sa harap ng maraming mambabasa at mga kaibigan mong makakabasa nito.
Hindi ko lam kung anong itinuto sa’yo sa seminaryo at itong mga salitang ginagamit mo ngayon ang nagpapatunay ng tunay mong pagkatao.
Napakataas ng tingin mo sa sarili mo.
Ganun nga yata ang mga intelehenteng tao. Lahat ng bagay ini-intelectualize, binubulag nang katalinuhan.
Puro ako ang pinagbibitangan mong palusot ng palusot, eh ikaw ang palusot ng palusot. Nako-cornered na ba kita?
Oo, bobo ako, kaya nakikiusap ako sa’yo, bilang isang intelehenteng tao, maaari bang ipaliwag mo sa akin ang lahat once and for all? Sa isang simpleng payak na pangungusap na maaaring maarok nang mabagal kong pag-iisip. Once and for all, hindi ko talaga makita ang ahas sa tabi ko.

Pare yun nga ang problema eh, ipinipilit mo na pinagbibintangan ko ang simabahang Katoliko sa kapalpakan ng EDSA, eto pasigaw na ito kasi capital letters na “HINDI KO PINAGBIBINTANGAN ANG CATHOLIC CHURCH SA KAPALPAKAN NG EDSA” HINDI! NO! PLEASE HUWAG MONG IPAGPILITAN!
Dude, mahirap bang maintidihan ang sinasabi ko? Wala akong sinabi kahit na isang salita na pinagbibitangan ko ang Catholic church, wala dude, wala! At kahit kailan, never ko pinagbintangan ang Catholic church sa sinasabi mong “fault” of EDSA! Eh wala nga din akong sinasabing “fault” ang EDSA!
Sinasabi mong naiinsulto ang intelehente mo, ako din dude, gagong-gago na ang feeling ko sa sarili ko dahil sa ipinagpipilitan mong hindi ko naman sinabi.
Nagpapalusot ako? Saan? Papaano? Panginoon kong Hesukristo, baka naman may ibang nakakabasa nito at paki-paliwanag naman sa akin kung ano ang pagkakaintindi ninyo sa comment ko about EDSA and about the Catholic Religion!
Pare yun lang ang hinihintay ko, ayokong manggaling sa akin pero mukhang walang admittance na manggagaling sa’yo eh, nagkamali ka lang ng pag-interpret ng sinabi ko diba? Pare alam mong hindi yon ang ibig kong sabihin, it’s your own words!
That’s all what I want to hear from you. Mahirap bang tumanggap ng pagkakamali? Mahirap bang magbaba ng pride?
Dude, kung sinabi ko yung ibinibintang mo sa akin at nasaktan kita or kahit sinong nakabasa noon, I will apologize right away at hindi humaba ng ganito ang sagutang ito.
Hindi ko kasi matanggap yung ibinibintang mo, because I never said those words! And I never blamed the Catholic Church for the fault of EDSA! And even the word “fault of EDSA” never exist in my head, because there is no fault in EDSA,I think the whole EDSA spirit is pure and true! It’s the people’s fault that turnished “EDSA”.
