Strike a poIse!

I still can’t get over this article I read yesterday which blatantly said that the Philippines is poised to be one of the chuvalinga in the chorva chorva chenalyn ever ever together forever with Indonesia, Burundi and Keena-lika-weewai for economic prosperity tra-la-la. Interestingly, this news came out together with ADB’s (Asian Development Bank) statement, that the only way for the Philippines to inch it’s economic growth is to work on it’s infrastructure among other things. Pero agad agad namang sorta binawi yung prosperity statement by using the word “poised”! Take note of the word. “Poised“. It’s like Madonna’s “strike a poIse“.
Trust me mga kabisyo, you’d see a lot of these genuine and professional beggars and panhandlers striking a pose on the streets of Recto, Quezon Av, Aurora Blvd., especially dyan sa kanto nang EDSA and Shaw. So, if you see these people “strike a pose”? Ma-a-alala nyo sinabi ni Reyna Elena.
STRIKE A POiSE!

(Taken across Edsa Shangrila on December 2006 along Shaw Blvd.)
Now, how do you live a normal life and have world peace of mind kung ang neighbor mo and your boylets are puritas? Grabeyshus ever to the maximum level, diva mga kabisyo? The long and short of the puritas in the Philippines is that, there are now 4.7 million Filipino families who could now barely get by and who are now “poised” to be hungry and angry because they won’t be able to feed themselves.
In 2003 mga kabisyo, when the last kwentada chuvalinga abacus chorva chorva was done, there were 4.0 million Filipinos striking a pose. Did you notice that it increased 7 million? Yan po yong 7% GDP na ibinadilyo nung mga tiga Pasig River. What that 7% did was increase the puritas. Will you now agree with me that this 7% GDP has never trickled down to the poor and was meaningless? It’s just a number mga kabisyo, a number that was used for promotions, for marketing. To glorify the unglorified! What we truly need mga kabisyo, is some serious poverty reduction program that truly works. Not some hallucinations and bangungut type fiscal plans. What we need is a program that empowers people and prepares them on how to cope with the economic difficulties in life like more investments and funding, particularly on education! To teach people on how to wade the waters of global economy, be competitive, survive and learn how to earn a living. What we need are the Vietnamese poverty & economic planning experts to teach these so-called economic poli-technocrats up there on how Vietnam was able to reduce poverty when we were obviously better off than Vietnam many, many years ago!

Yet, I don’t see any responsibility mga kabisyo. Instead, it’s more of the blaming game. Who do they blame? Rising oil prices daw, kalamidad and personal income that’s been as dwende as the dwende. Well, dahil this is a global economy, sure! I personally agree sa rising oil prices. Calamity? True! Now, isn’t it nice that there are always calamities to blame for all the never ending cycle of greed and corruption? Truth is, if you have clean, passable and concrete roads that facilitates produce to the market, kahit na umakyat man ang presyo, ok lang, dahil easy ang pagbenta nang produkto and you don’t have to forever repair nang traysikel, meaning po-problemahin mo lang is the rising oil price. What about the rising maintenance and the fact na ang hirap mag-transport nang mga products from the farm to the market? How do you handle the environmentally un-friendly talahib highway sa Barrio Siete, taz tataas pa ang krudo? Getz nyo? Bottom line is endemic corruption from the highest level ever ever down to bottomlandia on the munisipyo level na dapat napunta to create, fix and improve infrastructure and get rid of talahib highways.
One doesn’t have to go to Georgetown (Sowee, typo!) George Washington University to understand the basics of economics. All of us know fully well that when you have a population that’s hungry, they get depressed. They get frustrated. They get angry and crime inviting. Essentially you are creating a powder keg that will explode at anytime. And who are they going to blame next? The opposition. The destabilizers. The Cory’s of the World. The Ellenville. The Quezonville.

It’s a hard and proven economic fact which I learned sa Mababang Paaralan nang Barrio Siete that, if there’s fuud on the table, me medikol sa cabinet, me unan sa ulo, walang butas ang atip, me nawasa sa gripo, me mongol si little kikay at dyunyur, sementado ang talahib avenue, people are happy, me kwitis at watosi, AND NO ONE STRIKES A POiSE.

For a foreigner to live in the Philippines is a real nightmare. This place must be given to the Filipino People whom the world society know are hard working and pain cushioning enough to bear such an earthly equivalent of hell.

bluep (445 comments.) reply on March 9, 2008:
