WALA NANG NATITIRANG LIDER SA BANSA
I have a very high regard for the former President Fidel V. Ramos. To me, he was one of the few leaders that emerged from all of the rotten political trapos in our own turd world kawntri. He’s not Lee Kuan Yew, but I admired him for what he has done. It wasn’t much, kase he wasn’t able to build an expressway from Manila to Bicol para man lang madaanan ang Barrio Siete namen para easy ang pag-rampa ko. Yet to me, he was the best so far.
But I disagree with his insinuation here:

Here’s what I wanted to say that wifespeak left on Melai’s entry.
Makasagot lang ako sa lahat ng nagtatanong kung sino ang papalit kay Gloria. Ayon sa ating saligang batas, si Noli de Castro ang papalit. Ngayon, kung kusang umalis si Gloria o paalisin siya sa pamamagitan ng people power, si Noli ang papalit. Pag umupo si Noli, dapat panagutin niya si Gloria at lahat ng miyembro ng kanyang administrasyon, pati na ang kanyang pamilya, kasama pati mga bayaw, kapatid, kaibigan, etc. na may ginawang katiwalian. Kung di ito gagawin ni Noli, paalisin uli. Si Manny Villar naman. Kapag di pa rin tinama ni Villar ang kanyang gagawin, palitan uli. Nakakapagod? Maaari ba tayong mapagod kung ang kahihinatnan ay isang pamahalaang malinis, tapat, at handang isaayos ang kanyang pamamahala upang makamtan natin ang tunay na kaunlaran? Sa 70 milyong Pilipino, wala ba, sa tingin niyo, na makakagawa nito? Bilang mga Pilipino, di tayo puwedeng tumigil hanggat di tayo nakakahanap ng isang tunay na pinuno.Tungkulin natin ito.
WE MUST BELIEVE IN FILIPINOS!!!
I believe in Filipino lalo na pag gwapo - bilib na bilib ako. Puro lang nga mga trapo na, ampapangit pa nang mga ibang naiboboto sa Senado at Congreso. And when they get there? Pati mga tyanak nang kulasisi nila na indi pa nabebendisyonan, pina-nga-ngampanya na. Yet, I must be living in fantasy land dahil to this day, believe pa ako ever that one day, when the brown fox jumps over the window, a brown Bill Clinton will appear on the Philippine political horizon.
Kung wala mang dumating na brown Bill Clinton, ano ang ginagawa ni Zobel De Ayala? Pwede bang paki-usapan na sya na ang maging CEO nang Philippines, Inc.? Okray-okrayin kaya naten lahat nang pulitiko sa Manila at tingnan naten kung sino ang walang gasgas?
Naniniwala ako that there is one true leader out there. Whoever that person is, siguro nakikipag-away pa sa pulis sa Doha. O, nagsusulsi pa nang kurtina sa Hong Kong. Or, nag-to-tong-its sa Canada, o nagbebenta nang hopia sa China. We all cannot lose hope. We must believe in Filipino!
Personal ko lang na political belief to mga kabisyo and I’m sure meron din kayong political inclinations and trust me that I respect that. Don’t worry, you don’t have to agree with me. I still love you all. Pramis. But for WORLD PEACE, i prefer na lumayas na yong tiga Pasig River.

lol! taas na sana kamay ko e pero natawa naman daw ako sa segue hehehehe!!
alam mo mare, tama kung sa tama si Ate Gigi dyan.. pero kailangan talaga natin ng pagbabago at hindi ko nakikita yung pagbabago sa pagpasok sa eksena ni Noli at tapos e si Villar.
kailangan natin ng pagbabago at mas naniniwala lang ako na may magbabago kung magkakaroon ng genuine transition government.
Pero sa GTG na yan hindi got to go ha! kailangan walang mga luma, bago, trapo at kung sino sino pang pulitiko.
Para bagang adhoc committee, at ang nasa ad hoc na yan ay yung talagang may malasakit sa bayan, yung mga sektor mismo na nakaka alam ng kanya-kanyang problema ng kinabibilangan nilang uri.
kasabay ng masusing pag-iisip kung sino nga ba ang karapat dapat mamuno sa pinas e yung pag-aayos ng pang ekonomoyiyang problema diba dapat yun?
baka sabihin naman e nangangarap ako masyado, pero para sa akin wala namang imposible kung talagang gusto natin ng pagbabago…o masaya na tayo sa ganitong sistema? sana naman hindi diba?

i agree with fidel ramos. The focus should be more on reforms and not the personalities. Kahit alisin mo si GLoria at ipalit mo ang kahit sino, ang corruption nandoon pa rin because it is in the system.
SOme people just advocate for the ousting of the President but they do not have someone in mind to replace her.
MBA ka and should know that creating a vacuum in the leadership may lead to chaos.
They wanted to remove GMA but they do not want to install the Vice-President as replacement. Malabo ang mga utak.
Sino ang ipapalit. Si Villar na nakapit sa pundilyo ni Erap. Si Erap na suot pa rin ang wrist band niyang may presidential seal? But I would like to thank him for offering as caretaker president, lalong natakot ang mga taong paalisin si GMA. mwahaha.
These people are bound to repeat history– the GMA’s cause of unstable governance,the question of legitimacy.
As I have predicted, nothing is going to happen in the protest rallies last Monday. People are burned out with the so-called whistleblowers who are corrupt themselves. PEople are fed up with these politicians who self-proclaimed themselves as the nation’s conscience when they fall out of favor of the admin-stration aka De Venecia, Hyatt 10 and the former Cabinet members who were sacked from their lucrative positions.
And people are fed up with Cory as an icon of good governance when all she did during her administration was to exempt Hacienda Luisita from CARP. As to being an icon of human rights, was it during her administration when the carnage of farmers happened in Mendiola while demonstrating. The coup d’etats were dime a dozen. It was worse than Trillanes’ Oakwood mutiny where no one died. Some soldiers and onlookers died during the many attempts of grab of power during her administration.
If people believe the rally organizers, not even the Oscar awards and the Eat Bulaga and WOwowee can keep them glued in the bobo tube so they can join the “patriots” and media-made heroes in their communal actions. I just can’t help but chuckle when the students from elite schools had their own protest rallies seeing to it that the media are informed that it was a rally of Ateneo or LA Salle or UP and not other schools where students are working and studying at the same time so they don’t have the luxury of joining rallies. AND THEY ARE labeled as APATHETIC.
I cringed when I heard one demonstrator from La Salle denounced the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer He did not stop to think in what category he falls in. With 60,000 tuition fee per semester, I do not think that he is poor? noh?

mga hair styles and gowns ng mga celebrities.
By the way, I am not a pro GMA, I just hate the opposition who bungled in all their efforts to unseat GMA beacause they don’t do their jobs as “investigators” just because their IQs are lower than their EQs.
Here in the US before a scandal is leaked to the media and before investigations are conducted in the Senate and Congress, all evidences, documentary and testimonials have already been collected to ensure that accusations are not based on hearsays or he/said/she /said and I heard type of testimony.
So the accused can do nothing but resign or be convicted.

Wag kang magalit, pero I actually do not mabablanko because for one, Arroyo is not a leader herself, kahit na noon pa, wala naman talagang leader na lumabas sa Pinas other than morbid crooks.
To answer your political vacuum fear of chaos - that’s the reason why there’s a VP and a Senate President. Di ba yan ang drama naten? Given na yan di ba? Alam na nateng lahat? At di ko na kelangang mag MBA to understand this one dahil alam ko na to nasa Pilipinas pa ako.
Halos inaccept na ni Fidel Ramos na truling kawatan si Arroyo and tell the whole Filipinos na pag-tiisan na lang naten yan pati asawa? I am not convinced Cat. Kung totoong lider si Arroyo, she should have reigned mismo sa asawa nya.

Ako rin naniniwalang may pag-asa pa tayo. Mas marami pang mga mahihirap na bansa kaysa sa ‘tin. Lamang pa rin tayo dahil maabilidad, matalino, at maparaan tayong mga noy-pi!

I would like to believe that Filipino voters are getting smarter because not that many actors won in the 2007 elections. Maybe, we don’t rely too much on popularity anymore when choosing our leaders.

I agree FVR was the best, thus far (backed by socioeco data, before, during and after his term).
I am both anti GMA, and anti opposition…alang mapisil na matino eh..maybe Fernando? The revolution should be against graft and corruption at all levels and everyone should be involve.
I will wait for 2010 … we need a system to elect and replace officials decently, and to make our institutions stronger, whatever that means, hehe.

ano ba reynz, nosebleed na naman ang topic natin dito. hahaha, pero buong kukote kong tinatanggap and dagok ni wifespeak dahil isa ako sa mga naghuhumiyaw ng tanong kung sino nga ba ang papalit kay arroyo.
alam ko naman talaga kung sino ang dapat pumalit constitutionally speaking pero having seen what happened in EDSA DOS, parang nakakawalang gana talaga. buti nalang hindi ako nakisali sa EDSA nun kahit natapos ko na yung final plates ko sa EE521 nun na muntik pang matuluuan ng ulan galing sa bubong.
parang napahiya din ako nung sinabi nyang hindi tayo dapat mapagod hanggat hindi lumilitaw yung totoong leader. reynz wag mo ko isali sa listahan mo, kuntento na ko magbenta ng hopia.
pero sana naman, kahit hanggang sa pag nakagraduate man lang ang anak ko ng college (1 yo palang sya ngayon) e magkaron na ng matitinong leaders sa pilipinas. ang dami namang may mga magagandang saloobin hindi makatakbo dahil either hind makakumpetensya sa campaign powers ng mayayamang trapo o pinagpapaslang na ng mga hayop.
pero sa totoo lang, hindi ko alam kung pano makipagkwentuhan sa mga officemates kong chinese kapag nababanggit nila si arroyo. iniisip ko nalang, kung nabubuhay pa ang tatay nya, mala nya lang ang walang latay ng latigo. (sumalangit nawa ang kanyang kaluluwa)

hoy! sana wag mong personalin yong tag ko about some leader na nagbebenta pa nan hopia or nag-totong its. Ang ibig ko actuallying sabihin dun is that = brain drain - majority nang mga dapat magaling sa politiko eh posibling nasa labas na nang bansa at OFW because eto nga kelangan naten nang pambili nang gatas. sorry, napapagkatuwaan ko lang minsan ang mga ideya kong gusto kong i-explain hahaha
anyway - not only do these sick politicians should change, TAYO den, ALL OF US PINOYS. we all should and must elect TRUE leaders base sa character, integridad at abilidad indi yong pera. Pero ilang beses na yang sinabi, indi pa rin maisaksak sa kukute nang pinoy?
1 major reason? poverty. that’s why ayaw i-solve nang gobyerno ang poverty because they need the poor to vote for them. LOOK WHERE WAS ARROYO THIS MORNING? Namumudmud nang pagkain sa mahihirap. Fantasy na lang kasi ang iniisip nang mahihirap to solve the problem. And it seems problema na nang mga NGO kung pano isolve ang poverty.

wow! napadaan lang po mahal na reyna. matagal din akong di nakakapag-ikot eh.
sa sinabi nyo po naalala ko yung article ng Conrad de Quiros na Four sa PDI. Ang punto nya, bakit ba tayo namumublema sa ipapalit sa magnanakaw, mangungurakot, sinungaling at mamamatay tao na presidenteng nagnakaw ng eleksyon nung 2004? Sabi nga ni idol Conrad sa milyung-milyon Filipinos wala bang kahit isa na mas magaling, mas honest, di-mamamatay tao, hindi mandaraya na pwedeng ipalit kay Gloria? Parang insulto naman na ganun tayo kasalat sa mabubuting tao.
Sa palagay ko Edsa 1 was an unfinished revolution that is why when Edsa 2 happened we got a GMA for a president who later stole an election with the help of Garci (and Abalos). What she lacked in legitimacy she made up by amassing wealth to bribe politicians and buy loyalty, by appointing generals who have been involved in the cheating to the highest positions in the military and police forces. She killed, opppressed and suppresed and stolen with immunity. She has taken advantage of the weaknesses of our political institutions to consolidate her power. She corrupted what remained of our tattered democratic institutions.
This crisis, which have been on since 2005, has gone on so long. We only saw the situation worsening. We know from the lessons of EDSA 1 & 2 that we cannot just be satisfied by changing the people on top. We have to have reforms, and radical ones. And that is not possible with a Gloria at the helm.

lapit na ang Friday, Feb. 29 when all the groups will converge in Makati. We will see what happens. We are faced with a challenge as a people. We are called to respond as a nation. The pulse of the people is quite clear and clearer than what it was in January 2001. We will see if we can make a big push and move nearer our goal of effecting changes that are long overdue.

We shouldn’t really lose hope on Filipinos. But we can, and we should, lose hope on GMA assuming there is still that flicker of hope that refuses to die and abate with the wind when all the political storms are gone. And it is this undying hope that fuels our clamor for reforms in the literal and metaphorical senses. For all we know, the Filipino’s allegiance to democracy is unfaltering, except for an exceptional and rather stubborn few who relentlessly distort the democracy into shapes and sizes which fit their needs. But nevertheless, the signs of the times are here, and yet you have a government purportedly itching for the truth while stamping on our sensibilities EO 464. It’s one of the worst insults to the sensibilitis of Filipinos, at least to those who take the democracy as something that really matters. At the most, it’s the worst precursor to one’s irrational habits. Which goes without saying that GMA is worse than the worst with these.

Sadly, we do have a swelling number of Filipinos chewed in for the marrow of their talent, oftentimes without their knowing, only to be abused in the end after being of servile to the ends and means of others. Worse, I cringe at the thought of the equally swelling number of Filipinos who do nothing about it.

In all fairness, there’s a lot able cadidate, yun bang may pagmamalasakit sa bayan at sa mga pilipino. Ang problema lang, pag sila ay naupo na sa pwesto medyo nanghihina na nag pandinig dahil sa tagingting ng pera at na bubulag na dahil sa silaw nang san tambak na perang nasa harap nila.

56 was when i thought milyonaryo na ako kaya ako bumili nang condo para makauwi na ng pinas. 56 was the belgian frank at that time, meaning parehas lang ang pera nten. i was in brussels noon with jun at parehas ang palitan. that was 1999. pucha! you have no idea kung anong kalbaryo inabot ko nung naging 40 at 38 na lang sya! grrr!
one more thing:
VOTE WISELY - ang problema nito - we need to teach poor people and those illiterate on HOW TO BE WISE and HOW TO VOTE WISELY. Kaso, an daming College of Law, wala man lang programs to help people understand the election. Result? Balik sa dati. Sino me pera - sya boto.

speaking of vote WISELY. alam nyo bang nung isang eleksyon e may mga botante palang nagiisip kung sino ba talaga si wisely? nakakatawang isipin pero nakakalungkot - to think na demokrasya nga tayo pero sino naman ang nagmamay-ari ng voting rights. aysusmariakatilpo! i’m not against the poor dahil mahirap din naman ako no, pero bakit ganyan ang mga botante natin?

One thing i hate is when someone puts a malice in what I say and make an intrigue out of it.
the statement was in understanding that we are at the same level and therefore we can speak the same language.
if reyna is offended by what I said, i ask for an apology because honestly, it doesn’t mean what this newcomer is driving at.
if i want to personally criticize reyna, i do it in our e-mail.
great minds talk about issues and small minds talk about intrigues.

Hello Cat,
I DO NOT put Malice on what you say, all I said is I am offended for her/him I am entitled of my own opinion. Because he is a good friend of mine, furthemore why would i make intrigue out of it. I don’t get anything? do I?
Call me small minded but I say what needs to be said in terms of my relationship with reyna. Call me small minded, hate me all you want. I stand to what I said.
And For Your information before CAT… Flip is already in this website since it started. You can confirm that to reyna. So do not… I mean do not call me a newcomer.

boti na lang bobita ako at wala akong alam about goverment ekek na yan… oink!
anyway, although i have a puny brain here is my contribution to the subject… the philippines do have a great chance for improvement but us the citizens should also do our role. We can have the best leader inline but if there is no change in how we treat our laws our country would go nowhere. Tulad nang ibang companies dyan, they do not want to hire a woman for a certain position dahil family conflict daw. Another is the Catholic Church should stop interferring with the way our leaders govern the country. (which is another topic) Driving along, one way na yong road papasukin pa din. Little things, if everyone would change our country would have a chance…
KAYA BOTO NYO KO AS PRESIDENT ng Philippines… bwahahahaha …
We have to remember that Erap is not the reincarnation of Ronald Regan. JOKE LANG.

Interestingly, ngayon ko lang natandaan, you actually made a good point dun sa sinabi mo about treat laws chuva.
I honestly believe that we have enough laws, decrees at barangay tanod ever ever to enforce the law. Big problem ang pag ENFORCE nang LAW.
One example na pinag-iinit nang korona ko!
I was actually very happy that there was a law passed to punish kurap people. Me kinulong. An ligaya ko. Na convict. An liga-ligaya ko! Taz PINALAYYYYAAAA!!!!! GRRRR!! AAAA!!!

Reynz, sadyang napakahirap na (yata) humanap ng matinong mailalagak sa mataas na posisyon para magpatakbo ng bansa. Hindi lang sa Pilipinas ito, kahit sa ibang bansa man. Yung matitino, either bago pa man maihalal ng mga tao, pinapatay na ng ka-oposisyon o hindi nakakakuha ng kinakailangan na suporta . Nakakalungkot isipin pero….buhay pa kaya tayo bago magkaroon ng mga mabuting pagbabago sa bansa natin? Pagbabago na ikaka-ahon ng mahihirap?

Nakakalungkot nga Thess, but we must do our best kahit papano, little things matter Thess para sa mga anak naten (anak pala nang mga boylets ko - wala pala akong obaryo, naisanla ko na), and those who would be left behind.
Minsan lang tayo mabuhay. We were lucky naka-alpas tayo sa kahirapan in the Philippines. It’s now our duty to give back kahit papano to make things better there.
Personally, di kumpleto korona ko if I don’t do nothing for the betterment nang kahit na dun sa Barrio Siete namen na hangga ngayon di man lang makatikim nang aspalto yong kalsada mula highway hanggang kabayanan. Eh juice ko! Uugod ugod na ako ano?!!!! Elementarya pa lang ako sa Barrio Siete yun na yung aspalto dun! Hmpt!

Imagine ba naman…24 years na ang nakalipas na taon mula nang ako’y umalis sa atin. Pero hanggang ngayon ay walang pagbabago. Tinatalo na tayo ng ibang third world countries na dating mababa pa keysa sa atin ang economy.
