Except that one hour is not enough to talk about it. So, I thought I?d follow up the conversation with an entry! Pero yon pong average $500 to $1k is estimated blogging revenues at hindi po sweldo! Hahahaha! Kala mo Malen yon na ha? Ngek! Ngek! HAHAHA

1.) Is blogging an answer to poverty?

Maybe not. But one thing is sure, it?s a way to earn money and to those who already have day jobs, it?s another source of extra income. The general rule being, if you want to earn money, you have to shell out money. And if you are poor, you probably won?t be able to afford the price of buying a new computer and getting an internet connection. But if you could loan or get them for free you can start blogging and start earning money. However, earning money on blogging is not instant. You have to nurture your blog to gain some respectable ranking and readership.

2.) What do I have to blog about?

There are a lot of things you can blog about. You can start with whatever that inspires you or anything that you love to do or to write about. In other words, you can blog just about anything under the sun. It?s just a question of quality, credibility and connection with your readers that will matter the most. Big rule however, do not create a blog just to lambast, criticize and ridicule anyone. Use common sense in blogging. Don?t assume that just because this is a virtual world, no one will be hurt. Reality is, virtual as it may, there are some very real personalities behind all the catchy URL names where feelings could be hurt, reputations could be damaged or diminished. I advise you not to gang up on your fellow bloggers just like how one blogger ganged up on me. It?s never a pleasant experience.

3.) What if people disagree with my opinions?

It?s not the end of the world. The world was not created to be one happy family. Wherever you turn, there are a lot of dysfunctionalities. Ask my family. Do not expect everyone in the world to agree with you. You can always agree to disagree and continue to be friends. Dina kelangang ime-morize to.

4.) When do I start to monetize my blog?

If you can monetize your blog even if you have a page rank zero with 2 readers, you and the Google robot, then winner ka na. Don?t wait until you have 10,000 visitors. For as long as your blog was approved by any of the advertising agencies, win ka na. Generally, some of these paid ad entities will require you to have at least 20 original entries in English and at least your blog is 3 months old. Don?t insert any porno materials on your blog and watch out with the language that you use. At least, I have C at who smacks me when I make a mistake! Hehehe! Eh panu kung wala kang mentor?

5.) How do you build traffic?

This is Marhgil Macuha?s territory on SEO.

First, make your blog visible. Join online communities. Visit other blogs and leave good comments. Not spam-looking comments like “Hi, nice blog!”. Hold contest. Create some drama. Post mo graphic mong pictures! hehehe!!!

But from experience, I found out that if you can connect with your readers, they will come back bitbit ang friends nila. Social climb in a good manner! It’s better to win friends from all walks of life all over the world. I poke fun on social climbing but no less than the former US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan would agree with me, that there?s a social climber in all of us. All of us are wanting acceptance, to be in the group, to be recognized, to win friends, to network and if we all could do this altogether one another forever mga kapanalig and make a difference, eh di Miss Universe ang dating. Diva? Yan na yong one great social climbing feeling!!!

Forget about making a mistake in blogging. Don?t fake it! Pag maganda ka, maganda ka! Period! Sometimes if you just let go of your personality on your blog, mas nagugustuhan pa yon nang readers instead of you trying to be someone else when you?re not. Just tweak some morbid habits you have! hahaha!!

6.) Itots said that some bloggers have the misconception that if you open a blog, put some ads, money will come.

Nah. Earning money on blogging is no different than having your own business. You must nurture your blog and you make it grow, make it stand out amongst the pack, make it different, make it delicious. Put some spice of attitude. You gotta work on it.

For WORLD PEACE! Start monetizing your blog by clicking Make Money Here!!!

i find this particular post very informative.

i agree with you on question number 1, if you are hardcore poor, baka hindi ka marunong magcomputer, wala kang computer at internet access, thus, blogging is not for you. and i don’t think blogging would solve that problem (of being poor). it actually alienates the hardcore poor from the computer literate population, na mostly ay middle class.

Just like with any other opportunities and it’s not for everyone. It will make some dosh on a few but ust like any other skilled work.profession you’ve got to have the right skilss need.

But there’s no harm in trying. You can always go for the hosted wordpress.com first until you build a reasonable traffic. All you need then is your internet’s hourly rental fee

I think it will work for those who can’t afford a computer. If the hourly rental is Php60 – that’s roughly buck 25 sumtin’, given that you already have a free blog, then all you have to do is write 1 entry per day and i’m sure you won’t spend an hour at the internet cafe. One can devise a strategy of writing it at home (kung walang computer) and just simply type it at the internet cafe para tipid sa horas. So, will it work for poor (but creatively talented) people? I think so. But they need help to start with.

I think I just approved one of your blogs. Nakita ko kasi magazine. The ones I am not familiar with, I visit them and check. Magasto sa oras ko! hahaha! But then again, I don’t wanna anger a reader here that I accidentally cancelled. Kaya eto ayaw ko sa entrecard! grrrr!!
