It’s about 9:00pm now here in Philadelphia, 02/16/2008. I just finished wrapping up my Usapang Pinoy entry, had dinner and enjoying my smoke outside. Three (3) doors to my right, is a couple who have just moved in a couple of months ago. The guy is good-looking who is probably in his late 20′s or early 30′s. He has a big truck and from what I could see, he must be a construction guy. He’s got nice build and I have seen him shirtless washing his truck outside. (One of these days, I am going to take a picture of him! Trust me!)
His wife is not bad. She looks good. I don’t know what she does. All they say is “Hi, how are you?” and smile. I do the same. I think they have two kids. One of them plays with my niece. His name is Nigel. He is a 2nd grade kid on the same school where my niece goes.
Nigel!!! Get back in here!!!
That was the father yelling. Not shouting! Yelling on top of his lungs. I could see Nigel running around the neighborhood and seemed to be playing with somebody. I don’t know who. But he was running.
Get the !~@#$% in here! Or I’l !@#$%
If he was yelling on top of his lungs earlier, this was over way above and beyond. I was now shocked at what I was witnessing.
He ran outside of his house like he’s a quarterback on a football game (he’s about 5’10 or even 6″). His wife was now yelling “STOPPPP!”. He caught the poor kid, smack the shit out of him, dragged him like a dog in his shirt, Nigel was screaming so hard and I was just so shocked!
My neighbor Rick (2nd door) came out to look, but they were already inside and the yelling started. The wife was yelling “NOOOOO!!! THE NEIGHBORS CAN HEAR US!!”. The father was shouting at the kid and I can’t believe what angered the father this was insane! Then I heard 2 *POK* that to me sounded like *something*. Was it a gun?! Or was it just the door that he slammed? Rick was looking. I was looking. But they’re inside the house now so we both don’t know what’s going on. I thought to myself, should I call the cops? The kid was yelling. Then silence. God! I really did not like what I witnessed. I should know, I felt like I was Nigel. Honestly, I was a Nigel when I was a kid.
They left the door open. I went inside. I was confused. I was still thinking. Should I call the cops now?
Silence. Maybe the fighting stopped. Maybe the father’s anger subsided. I hope Nigel is ok.
I went outside again. It’s about 10:12pm now10:55pm. The door is still open closed. Everything is silent. I wonder if they were all ok. I don’t know if I could sleep tonight. I don’t know what precipitated the father’s unbelievable fury against Nigel, a 2nd grader.
Looked like the father needs some anger management classes to have some WORLD PEACE in that house. Were you a Nigel when you were a kid? You don’t want to know the Nigel in me…

I woke up at around 8:00am at sinadya kong mag-kape sa garahe just to check what’s going on in my hood. Silent night ang dating nang umaga. I kept going outside and checking kung sino ang lumalabas at kung anong ginagawa nang mga neighbors. It was an ordinary Sunday. At around 12:15am, lumabas si guapo – ayaw makipag eye contact and because I have a woman’s intuition, feel ko nahihiyang mag “Hi, how are you!” but I kept staring at him kinda telling “Tangna mo… ayuf ka…” and he was with his two boys who hopped in the car. I did not see Nigel but it looks like he’s ok.

shocks! is this true? you should have called the cops. last night, i was watching XXX dito sa ch 2 and yung concerned neighbor reported sa mga kinauukulan na yung mother (and her live in partner) eh binubugbog yung anak nya…andaming pasa all over the body pati kamo yung tenga nun bata eh dumugo na…kinasuhan sila, nakulong then dinala sa DSWD yun kid. That’s too much for the child to bear. Sobrang TRAUMATIC nun ganun.
Were you a Nigel, kabisyo? Di nga? hinde naman ako nagulpi nun bata ako but I had my shares of kurot sa singit and palo. Matigas ang ulo ko noon. Sobra. Pag sinabing wag lalabas….andun ako lage sa labas. LOL
But seriousnessly, whatever it is that happened to you…I am sure, that helped you to become better and stronger now. Lahat ng bagay na nagyayari may reasons. Look at you now. REYNANG REYNA! Tama na ang drama. Masaya naman ang buhay talaga at succesfulness ka na sa lahat ng bagay pwera lang sa love life. dear, you can’t have all the good things in life. pero sabi naman sayo, YOU CAN ALWAYS HAVE ME. hahhaha

If that happens again, it means that the father has anger management issues.
If he physically abused his son, bruises would be visible in a few days. If he’s smart enough, he would not allow the kid to go to school. The teacher is required to report to school’s social worker any evidence of physical abuse to the children.
The social worker with cops would visit the parents for inquiries and recommend whatever would work to the interest of the children.

If that is the case you should ask somebody to help the kid. I don’t know the rules in the US, all i know but to seek help when you feel like helping the kid. If the father is the problem you should consult this to proper authorities, It’s true di ka makakatulog kapag ganyan ang nangyayari sa kapitbahay mo. Di pwede kasing di pakialaman, kaya neighborhood ang tawag natin because we care for them.

If that happened here in the UK, the cops would be straight round, and the man would be handcuffed and jailed! As in! My friend was having an argument with her daughter and she finally reached her limit and slapped her daughter once. The daughter then called 999 and my friend was immediately handcuffed, jailed and taken to court. But it was also because her daughter lied. She said her mother smashed her about and knocked her head on the wall, pulled her hair and dragged her around the house. O di ba? Kaya I don’t want to raise kids dito!
