Something Between My Legs is going around the world and rattling some people. Well, maybe not. JD is right here in the Philippines. I did some research through the teachings of my Professor Malen in Stalking 108. He came over to my site from my friend Pusa.
In any case, here’s the copy:
My response:
1.) That I was attempting to manipulate my page rank.
I wish I had the SEO minds of some SEO people in Manila who are brilliant in this area. But I don’t even know how to fix THIS, let alone manipulate the page rank algorithmn. So, let’s move on, but thank you for the vote of confidence. I feel very SEO.
2.) Am I expecting something free from Google?
There was a paradigm shift in marketing that happened right around the time when Internet exploded. Product marketing and promotions changed. If you are selling your products, give them for free. It worked billion of dollars to a lot of Internet companies like Yahoo and yes, Google. All of these Internet companies were offering everything for free ? free tools, free mails, free news and a host of other things. What’s the bottom line? Readership and traffic.
But along all these ? someone has to pay. Who are they? The advertisers. So to answer you question as to whether or not I expect something free from Google?
Answer: No. Google was not designed for Reyna Elena. And Google owes me nothing. And yes, you are right, They have ZERO obligation to give any free service to anyone. But would Google be in a position like what they are today had they not offered their services for free to you and to me? I don’t think so.
They gave their services for free because that’s their business strategy: to gain traffic and readership. Eventually, that was their selling point to advertisers. And if their services were free, it was not intended solely for Reyna Elena. But to you as well. Why? Because as you use their services you’re one possible customer to their advertiser. Would you advertise on an Internet platform that has a traffic of 1? Or a traffic of 1,000? Would you like to guess what’s their biggest revenue? If you check the US SEC Edgar database you will find out that it’s advertising dollars.
3.) Is this a Pinoy way, to cause harm to other when you can’t get something for free?
Not to level headed Pinoys. But I’m sure some politicians in the Philippines have different answers. Now, me? Trust me, you won’t see me fighting it out with freebies. I think I am earning a respectable amount of money. However, my PPP earning is not enough to bring down a billion dollar company who is obviously the most powerful thing on the internet. I’m not even popular although you seem to suggest that I am a megastar. I don’t have that power and popularity and I am not that crazy to declare war with Google.
4.) That I expect someone to foot my popularity
Eversince Desperate Housewives, Malu Fernandez, Boy Bastos and Pinay Scandal broke out, Reyna Elena became expensive to maintain. I have to spend an additional $$$ monthly just so that you can get in my site without any problem. Now, that’s a free service you’re getting from me. I might be kidding, but you better believe me that I want someone to foot my popularity. How? Advertisers and donations. Seriously, maybe you can start with a donation! Hahaha! I’m not kidding!
5.) Google can do as they please with page ranks
Dang right! It’s theirs. No contest.
But in my opinion, it’s not a fair business tactic. It’s double sworded! It is obvious that competitors used Page Rank as their standard. That’s where they based the value of blogs as well as the opportunities that one gets. When it came to a point that the competition is slashing Googles advertising dollars, then Google pulled it back. I’m sure, Google must be losing advertisers, otherwise, they won’t resort to this move. It’s very similar to saying, you can use my product and my service for free BUT don’t compete with me. If you do, I’ll take it back from you. It’s a bait.
Such was the problem it created because the competition took the bait and used Page Rank as their standard to value one’s website and to put a value on the paid post opportunities available to a blogger. If your Page Rank is 8, you get paid more as opposed to a Page Rank 0. Obviously, the competitors made the mistake of using that as a standard. They’re trying to correct that now by having their own rankings.
Google’s move was actually a wake up call to the competition. On the other hand, it also showed Page Rank’s weakness. What is the weakness? Page Rank is not the right vehicle to put a value on blogs.
The bigger question is that – how do you value a blog? a website? What’s your parameters? All I know is that something good will come out of this. What do I want to see? I have a good readership base. I have a respectable traffic. Most of my entries were original entries. True, there are a couple of sponsored posts in here. But even those, I cranked them up myself though my own. Why should my blog be valued at PR0? Why right does Google have to tell my advertisers that I am worthless? If my website crashes because it can’t accomodate the traffic, that means, I have a lot of readership who are possible customers. Plain and simple – my readership matters. My traffic matters. But I am valued at zero by Google. Should I celebrate?
6.) That I might need a new SEO considering that this campaign is a failure
I am my own SEO, and I’m not even an SEO consultant. But by golly, you are so mistaken of me. But thank you much for putting me on the same ranks as Marhgil Macuha. That guy is brilliant. But I am not an SEO Consultant like him. I’m a beauty queen. But the fact that you sent me an scathing email about the fun we’re making between your legs, how could you say that the campaign was a failure?
