Comparing shoes to pasta is much more meaningful: Ask Technorati.

I was really going berserk after my radio interview that my technorati ratings went drastically down! Do you see it now? My technorati authority is not very authoritative at 377!!! Now, that’s down from right around 420 in the last few days! What have I done? I mean, true! I stumbled and humiliated myself on the radio interview, but why am I being punished by Technorati?
Well… people from TechCrunch.com called me and assured me that it’s not really my lousy voice nor my lousy unintelligent answers but that, technorati changed its algorithmic rythmns and everything.
They say:
“This is also a clear move by Technorati away from blog search, although many of the media search features have been around for a while. It may be an acknowledgment that they can’t beat Google Blogsearch over the long run, or it may be a strategy to go after a larger potential market for time sensitive content. Or both.
The most noticeable visual change is to the home page, which has been completely redesigned (see image above). Technorati has also eliminated search types (keyword search, tag search and blog directory search) in favor of a single search box. All search results are returned in the format technorati.com/tag/query (example) and show results from blogs, videos, photos and audio files all on the first result page. Users can drill down into vertical results via tabs. Users who want only blog search results can now go to search.technorati.com.â€
Essentially, ladies and gentlemen, technorati believes that by comparing apples to oranges or comparing shoes to pasta is the way to go and much more meaningful.
What a very excellent, very logical way of measuring things!!! Very business school! Very magna cum laude! I thought I was the only illogical person in the world with my interview last night!
I am so glad I am in good company with technorati.
