But I did noticed that GMA loves numbers and who cares what the population gets from these numbers? read: not filtering down just like what you said. I think Filipinos are politically maturing. Coup d'etats are not the norm and I think they realize that. For every single people power, the economy gets worse. Investors pull out and get scared. Revolutions are done through elections. This is how democracy works. Another coup would be detrimental to the country. Everytime I visit Manila, I'm amazed how much has changed. I left when I was still a child when I experienced constant blackouts and water shortages. It was a miserable time. Now, I think things have gotten better. The big problem with GMA is that she only looks at the numbers and lacks Erap's charisma. The numbers looks great. The GDP has steadily increased, foreign investment is up. But for some reason, it's not filtering to the poor. They're not experiencing the same gains as the other classes. Furthermore, ordinary investors like the middle class find it difficult to invest in the stock market and finding capital is difficult. I think it's interesting how the PSE and the Foreign Exchange absorbed the shock.
