We visited the Sto. Nino in Cebu City two weeks ago. I couldn’t help but notice this age-old woman selling candles. I gave her Php50. She was so happy that she was giving me her entire merchandise that she was holding. Why did I do that? I don’t know. Maybe because of my mother. My mother, when she was still living, constantly reminded me – “make sure you make one soul happy before you go to bed”.
That Php50 will surely not give her a good retirement. Sometimes, I feel that, in the middle of all my katarantaduhan, someone is reminding me and you my dear readers, that we should not lose focus on what we do to better our lives and others as well, else, we postpone our retirement.

hindi rin siguro applicable na sabihing dumadami sila dahil kinukunsinti natin kase si lola nagtitinda ng kandila. hindi namamalimos.
sa laguna dati, dun sa binababaan ko ng bus pauwi ng inuupahan kong bahay may matandang nagtitinda ng balut. may katabi sya nagtitinda rin ng balut ng kung anu-ano pang chichirya. kahit alam kong luma na yung balut na tinda ni lola sa kanya parin ako bumibili.
hindi ako mabuting tao pero nakakataba ng puso kapag may napapasaya kang ibang tao, lalo kapag matatanda. siguro dahil alam kong matanda narin ang nanay ko kaya kahit hindi ako ang suklian ni lord, atleast sa nanay ko maging generous sya.
