Retirement postponed

We visited the Sto. Nino in Cebu City two weeks ago. I couldn’t help but noticed this age-old woman selling candles. I gave her Php50. She was so happy that she was giving me her entire merchandise that she’s holding. Why did I do that? I don’t know. Maybe because of my mother. My mother, when she was still living, constantly reminded me - “make sure you made one soul happy before you sleep”.
That Php50 will not surely give her a good retirement. Sometimes, I feel that, in the middle of all my katarantaduhan, someone is reminding me and you my dear readers, that we should not lose focus on what we do to better our lives and others as well, else, we postpone our retirement.
