The Winner of the OFW Slogan & Logo Competition!
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
And so the deliberations continued…
In the end, it would be a fight between the three remaining entries which were very creative, very witty and very intelligently written.
-
Ol For Wan, Juan For All
-
Taas-noo OFW, Kahit saan, Tagumpay sa Sanlibutan!
-
OK, FINE, Whatever Whenever Wherever
Find out what’s the surprise!
The Winning Logo
We really liked “Ol For Wan, Juan For All”. We fell in love with the slogan from the very start. It’s short, it’s creatively witty and very Pinoy with a little touch of humor. The recall factor was a big plus. Although I have concerns about the designs of the logo because of this, I did not use it to disqualify the entry. I eliminated the logo simply because Tagumpay fits more of what I’m looking for. The Slogan would still be in the running.
“OK, FINE, Whatever Whenever Wherever” is similarly creatively witty and the recall factor is uncontestable. There’s no question that it was good. Actually, I memorized the slogan from the moment I saw it. However, I have to eliminate the logo, given that the competition offers more. The Slogan would still be in the running.
By then, it was clear that there was no contest on the OFW Logo. Tagumpay was the clear winner!
The Winning Slogan:
Right around that time that when we were deliberating on the final winning entries, one of the contestant backed out and withdrew her entries.
I was left with these two slogan entries:
-
OK, FINE, Whatever Whenever Wherever
-
Taas-noo OFW, Kahit saan, Tagumpay sa Sanlibutan!
The final hurdle comes to answering the final question:
-
Does this slogan “OK, FINE, Whatever Whenever Wherever” captures the spirit and best expresses and exemplifies what an Overseas Filipino Worker is all about?
OR,
-
Does this slogan “Taas-noo OFW, Kahit saan, Tagumpay sa Sanlibutan!” captures the spirit and best expresses and exemplifies what an Overseas Filipino Worker is all about?
It was a very tough choice for me, given the fact that in terms of recall, Ok Fine Whatever, clearly outmaneuvers Tagumpay.
Litmus test
I was on a crossroad. I asked several people including my friends. The final solution was put each slogan to a litmus test. Which one would make sense if you apply it to the objective? Â
Therefore, to help me choose the winning slogan, I went back to the reason why I started the contest. This contest came about because someone was hurling negativities to us, the Overseas Filipino Workers. And if you are one amongst us and someone started throwing mud at you – exactly, what would you do?
Would you:
-
OK, FINE, Whatever Whenever Wherever
Or would you:
-
Taas-noo OFW, Kahit saan, Tagumpay sa Sanlibutan!
By then, I knew what’s the winning slogan!

Good Morning Po.

Reynz,
I agree with the winning logo but I did not understand why you picked Taas Noo OFW. Don’t get me wrong but it is good. But decision making impressed me the most because you were able to convince me that Taas Noo OFW is really the best choice after all. I hope everyone who throws an internet contest will follow your transparent decision making. I liked Ol For Wan to win but just like what you said, if you apply the litmus test, it will not make sense. Good job in choosing the winner! Congratulations to the winner!
