UPDATE: Being asian in an american school at 12 years old
You know about my niece’s complaint about her classmates telling her that Filipinos live in boxes and cartons, right? That they could not understand why we live under the bridges, korek? Well, me too. I don’t understand that! HAHAHA! They were talking about a program on 20/20 in one of on the primetime show here - showing the squatters in Manila and those who built their houses on the river and under the bridges. Yong sa river, alam nyu yun? Pag me bagyo, aalisin yung balay nila and then, ibabalik pag wala nang baha! That was shown here at nakakaloka ang ingenuity nang mga kapatid naten just to survive!
Ok, nuff of that. Eto ang ginawa ni Darna.
She’s got two (2) very close friends, both caucasian girls. Even when she was in Pasig at Reedley International School (for 3 years), they would talk for hours on the phone. She was able to maintain that friendship because during school summer breaks and christmas, she’s back here.
What I did, ina-cumulate ko all the pictures and videos we took of Makati, Ortigas and Eastwood, including all the pictures at Reedley, Ateneo de Manila (where they sometimes hold programs), Meralco Theatre (for their Reedley TV), the condo, Shangrila Mall, the Podium and Rockwell. Tarush di ba?!Â
These kids? They love to play at the arcade so kelangan show-off ko ang Rockwell. Meron silang Arcade dyan that my niece frequents with her close friends and classmates from Reedley. Obviously, I chose the nicer pictures and if ever there’s something showing like tricycle (in-front of Reedley) I’d exlude them, o kaya nag-lalako nang sorbetes? Tangga! Edit! Chugi! (Racist ba ako?! hahaha!) Wala lang! Talagang uber-social climbing ang ginawa ko! You have no idea dahil to the max ang ginawa kong pag-mamayabang ever!
So, pinagmayabang ko to when we went to Cebu’s Plantation Bay:
Ang this one when we went sa Baguio. Ang nakakalukring nito eh mga shokla pala tong mga little kabayos na to with their pink-lash hairs sa bundok nang tralala! This pic was a hit to these kids! LOL!!! Ngayon? they were asking their teachers to bring them to a ranch na merong pink-lash hairs daw ang mga kabayo. O kitam, ma-mroblema kayo ngayon! Hmppt!
Then, I showed them that we don’t live in cartons and boxes but, here…

which is located not under the bridge but, here…

You have no idea! Uber ang ginawa kong pagmamayabang! I told them na meron kaming housemaid, kaya lang mahilig mag-friendster! at eto sya:

Mataas ang standard namen. Kelangan ang housemaid namen eh mas pa ki Inday. Dapat scholar, cum laude, me MBA at Branch Manager nang PNB Ortigas.

And it’s not true na walang kotse sa Manila. As a matter of fact, me driver kami. Si Dodong, graduate nang UP, scholar sa Syracuse University at nag-one year sa London. Ganun ang employment requirement namen. Well, other than meron ka pang Essay Test na papasahan. Eto sya.

I was on a total top notch mach speed sa uber yabang na ginawa ko with kids na wala nang ginawa ooohhhhs! aaaahhhh! and then ah told them na, actually mas maganda pa ang kalsada sa Manila kesa saten here, and I showed them this:

Linis di ba? I didn’t tell them na hayop ang trapik sateeeennnnnnn!!!!! ~!@#$%^&*() EEEEEE!! And then this one:

Linis noh? Walang trapik. Hehehehe! I personally took these pictures po!!!

At inix-plane ko na in our kawntri? Everyone is faithful. Ever.

At bakeet?! PWEDE BA!!! Tigilan ako! Social climbing ever!!!

Marami pa akong pinakitang pictures. Yong iba, ninakaw ko sa ibang websites gaya nitong website: Wakeboarding in Bicolandia. Gara nang Barrio Siete namen, di ba?
I even told them na yong likod nang bahay namen sa Barrio Siete is a golf course. Yeap. Sinapok ako ni Chuva! Ni-remind nya ako na palayan daw yun! Ah! Basta!
Super uber-yabang! This was social climbing to the max guys! Wala nang tatalo ever! Kung kelangang ganito ang gawin ni Darna para labanan at puksain ang mga negatibong piktyurakang ibina-balandra nang US media sa telebisyon dito sa Amerika, then so be it! MAKIBAKA!!! AHHHH! @ #$%^ *BLAG* *BLAG* eeeek (~nadapa~)…
RESULT?! WAGI!!!
Her close friends are now the ones on the frontline na tawaging ignoramus yong ibang ka-klase nya. The taunting stopped at dumami na ang kalaro nya. Hayyy! Nakahinga nang maluwag ang lola nyo.
ME KONTING PROBLEMA LANG PO…
Yung mga bata, lahat gustong pumunta nang Maynila and one of the kid’s father eh nakita pala ang presentation ko! Naloka daw ang family. NOW? He wants to visit Manila at gustong mag-fly la-lush sa Cebu! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKK!
LECHE TALAGA!!! ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * Â PANO TO NGAYONNNNÂ ?!!!!
Pleasssseee!!!
(*nag-iisip nang lumipat nang ibang state*)

Chill. Create a very wonderful itinerary for them. Take them to El Nido, The Manor in Baguio, Shangrila Cebu, take them diving and dolphin watching in Tubbataha. There are plenty of super lovely places in the Philippines that will impress any non-Pinoy.
Besides, I’m sure you can put a positive spin on everything/anything that seems negative.
