Ok, enough with all of these Desperation!
I had a crazy day today but my meeting this afternoon including the presentation went flawless (cute ko talaga!). The meeting just finished when my phone rang…
Is this Reyna Elena?! My name is Amanda from the Collection Agency? I would like to remind you about your medical bills! They’re past due and we require…
Sheeet! Nataranta ako! I swear I was up to date with my payments! I continued to listen to the collector until I realized . . .
Diwa?! Ikaw ba yan?! Hayuupp kaaaaa! Aatakehen ako sa pusoooo!!!! Grabeeee! Nangatug tuhod ko! Pag nakita kita Diwa this weekend! Nakuuu! Pati kilay mo babaliin kooooo!!!
You wanna know why Diwa shocked the hell out of me today?! Sekreto to. Don’t you ever tell anyone!!! Ready?
When I lived in Pasig last 2005 for about 10 months or so, I continued paying for my health insurance in the US. I’ll tell you exactly how much I was paying, close to $500 a month. That’s about Php28,000 pisosis at that time. To the curious, I got an invoice, pede ko syang ilagay sa billboard on EDSA. Because mas malakas pa nga ako sa kalabaw – I stopped paying! My last payment was July. Sayang din yun ano? Pambayad nang mga kaartehan ko! Besides, not only that eye em very expensive to maintain, eye gut a Foundation! Cute yata ako! Huh! * nakapamewang *
Well, balon – balon – balon! 3 days after I got back to the US, which was September, I was at the emergency room of the Jefferson University Hospital, nah – it’s not the rumored sex-change operation nor widening of my boobs, or elongationness of my tadpole … well, too much information here… I mean, it was called laparascopic appendectomy.
What’s a laparascopic appendectomy? It’s a very simple medical terminology, really. That’s why mega-sabog ang appendix mo. Now, what they do is this – isasaksak sa pusod mo yong betamax or kaya sony video camera with latest version of windows player tapos meron pa syang navigator (hi-teks eh) para hanapin kung nasaan yong kelangan putulin so you can live forever happily dilapilated once again ever. Ganun.
Result? Naging violet yung tyan ko. Meron pang silang inahit ang mga kuwago! HAHAHA! At merong tatlong parang pimple prick na me tahi which would disappear after a month. I lost 20 pounds! Nagmukha akong kalansay. And it was the most expensive weight loss program I ever ever ever EVAHHH had. Cost nang weight loss program na to? Tumataginting na $55,000.00. O, me recibo ako nyan!
Kaya naman, kung ano ano na lang ang ginagawa ko sa mundo just to make money and pay off my medical bills. I walk the dog – pati amo nang dog. I baby sit. I mow the lawns. I tutor. Nag-rerepair nang bahay. I write for PPP (Peter, Paul and Perry), reviewme at kung ano ano pang me-me-me on the net. At night? Hehehe… * ngiting aso * secret!!!
Anong salmon of the day naten?

Tapos sabi nung mga nurse na pinay, okay naman daw yong surgeon kamag-anak nung Hari saka sa Canada and US nag-train and compared sa pinas, mas matagal ng meron dito nun and with all other factors we decided to do it here. Pag labas ng hospital, we paid around 60 cents only for the pain reliever!

i agree sa salmon of the day mo reyna. tumpak na tumpak. minsan talaga bibiruin ka ng tadhana at kung kelan ka tumigil sa pagbayad eh saka ka naman magkakasakit. goal ko rin yang health insurance na yan, pag na-permanent ako sa work, mag-start na rin akong magbayad.
good day!

anoooo, 55 thousand dolyares? ang mahal naman nun. sa susunod bili ka nalang ng ticket papuntang alemanya at dito ka pagamot sa asawa ko. libre na may nurse ka pang lukring (pero ‘di ako talaga nurse ha?) patatawanin kita araw-araw hanggang gumaling ka. pero alam o tutot yang sinabing we should have health insurance dahil importante talaga. dito, sa ayaw mo at sa gusto insured ka. i am paying 300 Euro monthly. mahal din pero no choice eh.

nina,
qatar? libre? swerte nyu! well, i have insurance now and i’m ok – except you know, continuous ang bayad ko nang linsyak na $55k na yan. my doctor wanted me to do that gall bladder kasi i burp all the time, dala yata nung operation. baka daw me naiwan na gunting

ajay,
no prob!
chuvaness at beng,
my friend in manila showed me his operation, i was laughing, mukhang EDSA ang tahi at ang dinaanan nang karayon eh kitang kita pa.
it was expensive dahil siempre daming kaekekan here, unlike sa pinas siguro na sasaksakin at bubutasin ka na lang, here, pinapasok pa ako sa imburnal where i have to drink yong ewan kong kasukasuka para daw makita impakto sa bahay bata ko
then i spent an extra 2 week actually dahil alam mo ba bakit? dapat 2 weeks lang ang siguro inabot lang sya nang half.
kaso, kasalanan nang mga impaktong kebigan ko who visited me and then pinatawa ako nang pinatawa. then a week later, pinalayas na ako nang duktor. sabi nya
- you may return to your normal activities.
Eh di nag-return to normal activities ang lola mo. That weekend nakipag inuman ako kina Chuva. Pag uwi ko that night – balik ako sa ER. Duguan daw loob ko. Ayun, another 2 weeks hehehe

Like Qatar, libre din lahat ng major operations and other medical needs dito sa Kuwait. Before maging resident kasi dito kailangan bumili ng insurance which is only 50KD*170PHP. Example of the perks in living sa desyerto is when my mom got an appendectomy last year and we only paid 150 pesos for the meds. Bow.
