How do you define success? Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala says:
“Success is not measured by quick and one-time gains but by enduring beliefs and created by a disciplined approach to creating value. Second, success also entails combining profitability with a broader contribution to society.”
Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala became the 1st Filipino to receive the highest achievement award for a graduate of the Harvard Business School as the Management Man of the Year Award. This award is given to distinguished graduates who have contributed significantly to their companies and communities while upholding the highest standards and values. It’s given to outstanding men and women who represent the best in the alumni body and inspire all those who aspire to have an impact on business and society.
Probably, nobody even noticed this one with the daily barraged of who got what, who stopped who, who’s going to be sued by who and who resigned on the the ZTE/NBN deal, add to this, the recent Desperation of some US writers for some Philippine attention.
I have a lot of admiration to the Ayala’s in the Philippines and I am a big fan of Jaime A. Zobel de Ayala (Read: Hire me!!!). To me, he epitomizes the true leader unlike some leaders out there who are probably just walking in the park because no one is following them.
Honestly, what the Ayala’s have done to the country is unbelievable and it’s interesting why some in the government can’t seem to emulate the leadership qualities of the Ayala’s. A lot of Filipinos probably don’t know this – or are probably so preoccupied in looking for some food on the table, or for more kickbacks, but the Ayala’s have continually made the lives of the Filipinos a lot easier. Agree with me?

reynz,
Bloomberg pala naginterview hindi CNN
Unlike politician who treat “job generation” as a campaign gimmick, this guy generates jobs for real. And I think he has a way way better and cleaner record than the Sys in terms of being an employer.

Bat ko nga ba sinabing CNN eh nakasaksak na mukha ko yong bloomberg?! hahaha! *desperate blogger*

You know what, I really do wonder if any of the zobel de ayalas, much more, this so called “Management Man of the Year” that filipinos can be “proud of” can actually speak filipino? If you ask me, the ayala corporation is like a modern version of a dutch east india company.
