Book Review: The Human Equation
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
The Human Equation book tries to explore the effects of high performance human resource practices on company’s financial results and overall company’s performance. It tries to understand the reasons why these practices are not widely implemented despite the fact that some of these practices are known to produce positive results on the company’s bottom line.
Evaluation of the book based on coherence, empirical support and usefulness:
- Coherence
In my opinion the book was well written and the way it was presented seemed to have a very good flow. Although the book was written in 1998, the topics discussed are still very much relevant with the current times. Some of the studies, however, were based on companies in Europe and in Japan. The premise becomes that these high performance human resource practices are applicable anywhere.
