While the nation is glued to the TV, others on the internet (reading reyna’s blogs) and the rest are protesting in Batasan, I was having my own:
I originally had July 19, 2007 as my dental appointment, unfortunately, my dentist and I were barking at the same time on the phone. You see, we had this crazy lunatic weather again, 90’s in one day and down to 60’s the following day. Can’t seem to decide as to whether or not it’s summer or is it beginning to be fall already?
I was really waiting for the SONA 2007. Why am I interested? I only wanted to hear one and one single uno isa saro usahay un line. That they’re gonna build an expressway from Manila to my Barrio Siete Land in Bicol. That’s all. That’s my very shallow request. You see, if you have an expressway that runs from Manila to my Barrio Siete Land, tourism will explode in Bicol because it would be easy for people to visit our beautiful Barrio Siete Land. You’d see the beautiful nature along Quezon and the entire Bicolandia. With that, commerce flows easily, the more visitors, the more moolah, the more moolah, the more activity and I hope my people in Barrio Siete Land will somehow afford to live some decent lives. That’s all. No, Matilda, an expressway does not have a carabao in the middle of the street! Not even a tricycle! You see the difference?
I wanted to compare the SONA of 19forgotten to the SONA of whatever chuvalais today. But it’s been done for me. These were all the promises, promises and more promises that she made in the past.
In 2001, she has her: Four-point strategy to fight poverty:
- Free enterprise with a social conscience
- Modernization of the agricultural sector
- Social bias toward the disadvantaged
- Raising the moral standards of govt and society

It’s time to serve without reservations and any concern other than public good, and with patriotism etc. My desire is to reach first world status in 20 years. By 2010 we should be well on our way to achieve that vision.
20 years?! EKKKKK!!! Uugod-ugod na ako non ah?! Tsk! Tsk! Sya pa rin ba ang andyan? Curiously, does anyone know how long it took Vietnam to bring down their povery to 5%? That was just plastered on Time Magazine last year, right?

Ako ever since nangako sya sa harap ng monumento ni Rizal sa Baguio na hindi na sya tatakbo sa 2004 at ng hindi mag karoon ng division,mula non ay hindi na ako naniwala sa kay pandak este GMA. Eto ako ngayon nangibang bayan,dahil sa hirap ng buhay sa sariling bayan ko,tiniis iwan ang pamilya, dahil sila lamang makapangyarihan sa gobyerno ang nakakaramdam kuno ng pag -unlad, (puso ko2x)

I think..E-VAT, mawawala din yan kapag nakabangon na ang Pilipinas.. Malaki kase ang natutulong ng E-VAT sa pagbaba ng rate ng peso to dollar…….
Sana lang, all Filipinos WILL BE one in building our nation….
Hindi lang Pres. ang dapat kumilos, “DAPAT TAYO DIN”….

If ever nanalo ba si FPJ last 2004 election…sa tingin nyo marami ang magbabago sa Pilipinas..???????????
marami lang ang magdidikta sa kanyang panunungkulan….
ewan ko ba bakit hindi marunong magtiis ang mga tao ngayon,,,
nangibang bansa kayo,para magkapera…. mahirap ang buhay, oo, pero buong buhay ba ni Pres. Arroyo presidente na sya.??!!!!!!!!!

for me….marami ang nagbago sa bansa…
ang tao kase naka-focus lang ang attention sa mga mali,, pero yung magagandang nagawa ng pangulo hindi nyo tinitingnan….
sana lang matuto tayong magtiis……….
parents ko….sabihin na nating mahirap pa sa dag nung ikasal sila…pero ngayon….marami na sila na-adhika..nagtiis sila…
maganda na buhay namen..hindi nila naparanas ang buhay nila dati same….kase,nagsikap sila…
hindi sila nagreklamo sa pamumuhay ngayon na si Pres. Arroyo ang nakaupo….kase hanggang ngayon maganda buhay namen at marami kami natutulungan na ibang tao..
i hope….lahat ng tao katulad ng magulang ko…. nag-tatry muna bago magreklamo….sana lahat marunong magtiis…hindi puro ngata…..
gaganda ba buhay mo kung tutunganga ka lang at mag-iintay ng biyaya..???
ano gusto nyo? bigayan ng Presidente ng pera lahat ng mahirap?isa-isa? tapos ano? ipagpapasarap tapos wala na ulit….
konti na lang yata ang tao ngayon na marunong magtipid…….

be contented na lang and wait. for me, our pres. is doing good so far. yung mga tao jan na di makaintindi oanggulo lang kau. lets help the pres. na lang. we are one country and we are filipinos. i still believe that GMA is a good leader and her achievements naman are remarkable. di lang talaga nila napupuna un kc puro mali ng pangulo pinagtutuusan nila ng pansin. the 20 years time is enough i think para umunlad ang ating bansa. kaya prostesters, behave na lang kau…

ummmm,,,,,, for me,,,, well,,,,, hindi nman tlga dpat isisi lhat sa presidente spagkat nag-iisa lng naman sya at tao lng na napapagod din….. sa mga kurakot well if not her marmi png pulitiko ang ganun kaya pg magbntang kau hindi lng ang presidente ok…. for the development nman i think may pinagbago nman khit papano ang bansa ntin as we see nman sa economy ntin ngaun….. i think dpat hndi ntin syang husgahan sapagkat hindi lng nman sya ang nging presidente….. kung tutuusin may mga ngwa nman syang tama hindi lng mga mali…… ang mistake lng nman nia ay hindi niya ma-reach out ang mga tao pra magbuklod-buklod…… alam niyo yun uunlad nman tlga ang pilipinas kapag wlng crab-mantality at may presence of nationality alam niyo un….. as in alam niyo un…. pano umunlad ang japan, south korea at iba pa??? its becoz of this 2 qualities plus ang kasipagan at believing yourself…. un lng po…. hehehe… god bless us all..

i thought we dnt need to JUST??bkit may mga sumasabit pang nanahimik ng tao??thats not nice..we dnt know wut he can do!?..nweiz..try to get to the point guys..its not the mistakes that were after or lookin at here..its the PROGRESS that everyone needs..and as a student I in particular can still see a NOT SO GOOD nation until now wla pa din pagbabago..madami ng talks..but ano nangyayari?talk lng ng talk..were just hopin that its not too late before SOMEONE wothy can make a difference..we cant blame people if they dnt wanna believe in her talks..ANYMORE..and OK..people should do their part in this nation as well..but how can u do somethin good if hindi mganda ung mga offers and benifits..tiis..i think people were so fed up sa pag titiis coz they can say sa tinagal tagal nilang nabubuhay nagtitiis cla..just try to site some example in general pls..dnt compare a personal life in much more bigger LIFE and responsibilities..were talkin bout PEOPLE here..filipino people who wants progress..try to be natural and practical..we wanted to help..but how can we HELP..kung nobody wants to help the people who wants to help the nation..balance lng..give and take dapat..its not that we dont want the president..its whatt the president’s doing is what we dont want..

First, It’s rather irrelevant for me to say as to whether or not I am pro or anti-FPJ. It’s not whether or not FPJ knows or not know how to run a country or can do or not do anything good to the country. That’s the beside the point. The point is called “HELLO GARCIâ€, that’s the biggest point and I will not explain further because everybody knows about this whole thing.
Second, people do make mistakes. Sure. No question
Now, let me comment on the monee and economee.
For all these years, from the time of Marcos to eveyone who sat there, the economy has been propped up by us - the overseas filipino workers. All our remittances fuelled a lot of consumption and production and has ignited a lot of small mom and pops and provided jobs to the have nots. These monies we sent even helped the economy from the financial fallout of the asian financial crisis. How much? Much bigger than the foreign investments that’s being poured into the country.

Jen, hindi kami nakatunganga - we are abroad working like insane. We compromized the happiness of being with our families and love ones. Those are heavy price we pay for working abroad and sending monies to the Philippines. We are in no way tamad or reklamador - but because of the fact that we had the opportunity to work abroad, and see how things are being done here, we can make the comparison and we can intelligently decide that much of what the politicians are doing based on their performances are really self-serving on them, not to their constituences. Ganun naman saten di ba? Di pa naalis. Just listen to the SONA. It’s all about projects REQUESTED BY SOMEBODY, eh pano pag kalaban ni Glo? Di walang proyekto dun sa mga tao? Can you prove me I’m wrong?
I believe in Filipinos. True there maybe tamads out there, but you have to realize that majority of us are really hardworking. Now, there are tamads because they might be frustrated because for all we know, it’s ridiculously difficult to even start a business and work with most of the regulatory agencies. I should know, heck I started a business in the Philippines and was subjected to a lot of bullshit, I went back to the US!
I will not disrespect your parents when you say †i hope….lahat ng tao katulad ng magulang ko…. nag-tatry muna bago agreklamo….sana lahat marunong magtiis…hindi puro ngata…..â€
But exactly, how good of a role model are they that we need to follow, because I hope your parents are following something which is FAIR TO EVERYONE at hindi basta follow lang nang follow - you know what I mean? To me that’s the bottom line, what’s just and what’s fair. If you follow just for the sake of following - to me that’s not being a role model.

wag na lang kau tigas ulo, kitid ulo, at madami pa. as we can see naman the pres. is doing her best. help na lang tau wag na xa bwisitin. kung feel nyu super discontented kau. try nyu imagine self nyu na pres kau ng phils. will u last?, can u do something for the nation and the people?, are u smart enough to handle ur position? kung marerealize nyu yan, diba its not easy. plus the critiscsm pa and all the protests. kahit namn president xa di naman nya mahandle lahat dahil tao din xa. kaya wala kahit na sino man ang krapatdapat manghusga sa kanya. di nyu naman kc nakikita efforts at mga achievements nya kc puro mali nya binabantayan nyu para may maibato kau sa kanya… i believe she’s one of the most intellegent pres. in history. rally kau ng rally imbes na magtrabaho para kumita at umunlad. gusto kc mabilisang grasya. there are a lot of oppurtunities sa ating country only that kulang tau sa skills. one reason naman not only poor education but also the mentality of some filipinos. gusto bigtime agad without even striving. hayz… lets help the president make the best difference that we can for our country. one thing lang, lets have the confidence on her and support her na lang at wag ng maging sakit ng ulo nya. Sa isang mahirap na bansa hindi lang dapat ang pangulo ang mag-angat dito. Maging ang mga mamamayan ng bansang iyon ay kailangan ding magsumikap upang umunlad..Ngayon kung wala kang trabaho o naghihirap ka ito ay dahil sa hindi ka gumagawa ng paraan upang magkaroon ng trabaho at makaahon sa kahirapan..Sabi nga nila “kung gugustuhin mo, madaming paraan. Kung ayaw mo, madaming dahilan.!”

..wel, Sona is bullshit! ol of u guyz have great ideas.. I appreciate that.. people have different outlooks on how gloria is leading our country we have diffrent perception.. i respect dos people hir hu like gloria..but for me, ASA pa tayo n mangya2ri yan lahat..yah, actually our economy is now working good but the way people live is still the same.. POVERTY is still the main illness of our country.. do u think by year 2010 ma aachieve nya n niya ung vision nya 4 the philippine country? i think that it will be a BIG NO.. and nahalata ko her projects are mostly composed of road projects.. what about the most important things? the need of evry filipino people? the health government facilities? she’s not working on it..

Some are discontented with her SONA and some are not,there are many who are not satisfied and worse did not believe her,But still,there are pro’s that support her views,vision and plans to our country.
But for me,no matter how well it was planned and how well her statement was done.
Let’s just hope that in every word she uttered in her SONA will apparently be in vision.
As a student and a citizen,I am not a PGMA pro nor an anti. But on my own opinion,if somewhat i am opposing her…what help would it bring to our country?
In any ways on implementations on how to help our country to achieve and reach its highest capabilities and potential. We must work hand in hand to reach it. A body cannot move in full function if some of its part are hurt or worse they are opposing on each other.
Now…abnormal it is if that is what’s happening in our country. So instead of instead of working or having a mindset w/c is not in line with the country’s purpose,vision and goal…why not work it in UNITY.

The SONA would be great if and only if it was presented with reality and accuracy. Most of the speculations says that the SONA does not really refect the real situation the Philippines has.Seriously, Iam NOT an AVID FAN of the CURRENT MALACANANG OCCUPANT. However, what she envisions forthe country is quite splendid (wish it will come true so soon)..As we can see, our country is just on its way to become part of the developed countries. Most of our people are suffering from hunger annd even worse than this yet, we strive to fight back just to survive (wether makaOPOSISYON ka man O makaADMINISTRASYON). The point there is, we have to manage to survive kahit sinong presidente pa man ang nandyan because we need to. I guess Gloria will never put our country down (I HOPE SO..). Yes, those critics of hers will still be there on the other side of the corner but let us not put criticism at the center of her administation for our country would still be the one to be affected aa well as our people. She may have made a mistake then. However, we cannot do otherwise because she is still the one who is impowered. Let’s give her a chance to showcase her administration in a way that it will not have interruptions when it comes to the country’s progression (pero kung sa CORRUPTION diyan tayo dapat umaksyon). Now, the least thing that we could possibly do to help our country is to support all her appropriate GOALs for the populace.
