While the nation is glued to the TV, others on the internet (reading reyna’s blogs) and the rest are protesting in Batasan, I was having my own:
I originally had July 19, 2007 as my dental appointment, unfortunately, my dentist and I were barking at the same time on the phone. You see, we had this crazy lunatic weather again, 90′s in one day and down to 60′s the following day. Can’t seem to decide as to whether or not it’s summer or is it beginning to be fall already?
I was really waiting for the SONA 2007. Why am I interested? I only wanted to hear one and one single uno isa saro usahay un line. That they’re gonna build an expressway from Manila to my Barrio Siete Land in Bicol. That’s all. That’s my very shallow request. You see, if you have an expressway that runs from Manila to my Barrio Siete Land, tourism will explode in Bicol because it would be easy for people to visit our beautiful Barrio Siete Land. You’d see the beautiful nature along Quezon and the entire Bicolandia. With that, commerce flows easily, the more visitors, the more moolah, the more moolah, the more activity and I hope my people in Barrio Siete Land will somehow afford to live some decent lives. That’s all. No, Matilda, an expressway does not have a carabao in the middle of the street! Not even a tricycle! You see the difference?
I wanted to compare the SONA of 19forgotten to the SONA of whatever chuvalais today. But it’s been done for me. These were all the promises, promises and more promises that she made in the past.
In 2001, she has her: Four-point strategy to fight poverty:
- Free enterprise with a social conscience
- Modernization of the agricultural sector
- Social bias toward the disadvantaged
- Raising the moral standards of govt and society

Ako ever since nangako sya sa harap ng monumento ni Rizal sa Baguio na hindi na sya tatakbo sa 2004 at ng hindi mag karoon ng division,mula non ay hindi na ako naniwala sa kay pandak este GMA. First, It’s rather irrelevant for me to say as to whether or not I am pro or anti-FPJ. It’s not whether or not FPJ knows or not know how to run a country or can do or not do anything good to the country. That’s the beside the point. The point is called “HELLO GARCI”, that’s the biggest point and I will not explain further because everybody knows about this whole thing.
Second, people do make mistakes. Sure. No question
Now, let me comment on the monee and economee.
For all these years, from the time of Marcos to eveyone who sat there, the economy has been propped up by us – the overseas filipino workers. All our remittances fuelled a lot of consumption and production and has ignited a lot of small mom and pops and provided jobs to the have nots. These monies we sent even helped the economy from the financial fallout of the asian financial crisis. How much? Much bigger than the foreign investments that’s being poured into the country.

Jen, hindi kami nakatunganga – we are abroad working like insane. We compromized the happiness of being with our families and love ones. Those are heavy price we pay for working abroad and sending monies to the Philippines. We are in no way tamad or reklamador – but because of the fact that we had the opportunity to work abroad, and see how things are being done here, we can make the comparison and we can intelligently decide that much of what the politicians are doing based on their performances are really self-serving on them, not to their constituences. Ganun naman saten di ba? Di pa naalis. Just listen to the SONA. It’s all about projects REQUESTED BY SOMEBODY, eh pano pag kalaban ni Glo? Di walang proyekto dun sa mga tao? Can you prove me I’m wrong?
I believe in Filipinos. True there maybe tamads out there, but you have to realize that majority of us are really hardworking. Now, there are tamads because they might be frustrated because for all we know, it’s ridiculously difficult to even start a business and work with most of the regulatory agencies. I should know, heck I started a business in the Philippines and was subjected to a lot of bullshit, I went back to the US!

Some are discontented with her SONA and some are not,there are many who are not satisfied and worse did not believe her,But still,there are pro’s that support her views,vision and plans to our country.
But for me,no matter how well it was planned and how well her statement was done.
Let’s just hope that in every word she uttered in her SONA will apparently be in vision.
As a student and a citizen,I am not a PGMA pro nor an anti. But on my own opinion,if somewhat i am opposing her…what help would it bring to our country?
In any ways on implementations on how to help our country to achieve and reach its highest capabilities and potential. We must work hand in hand to reach it. A body cannot move in full function if some of its part are hurt or worse they are opposing on each other.
Now…abnormal it is if that is what’s happening in our country. So instead of instead of working or having a mindset w/c is not in line with the country’s purpose,vision and goal…why not work it in UNITY.

The SONA would be great if and only if it was presented with reality and accuracy. Most of the speculations says that the SONA does not really refect the real situation the Philippines has.Seriously, Iam NOT an AVID FAN of the CURRENT MALACANANG OCCUPANT. However, what she envisions forthe country is quite splendid (wish it will come true so soon)..As we can see, our country is just on its way to become part of the developed countries. Most of our people are suffering from hunger annd even worse than this yet, we strive to fight back just to survive (wether makaOPOSISYON ka man O makaADMINISTRASYON). The point there is, we have to manage to survive kahit sinong presidente pa man ang nandyan because we need to. I guess Gloria will never put our country down (I HOPE SO..). Yes, those critics of hers will still be there on the other side of the corner but let us not put criticism at the center of her administation for our country would still be the one to be affected aa well as our people. She may have made a mistake then. However, we cannot do otherwise because she is still the one who is impowered. Let’s give her a chance to showcase her administration in a way that it will not have interruptions when it comes to the country’s progression (pero kung sa CORRUPTION diyan tayo dapat umaksyon). Now, the least thing that we could possibly do to help our country is to support all her appropriate GOALs for the populace.
