I was supposed to post a new blog article today – and normally, I would read my favorite newspapers first. The MLQ3, Ellen Tordesillas, the Inquirer, Malaya and GMA News TV. Just so I would be abreast of what’s going on in mah dear kawntri. Half of the time, I have no clue what they’re talking about. It woud take me another day to read the background and everything to understand what it is. But you know, you learn.
But, I take a special note on Howie’s entry today. He wrote about:
Tondominium death trap. Here’s some excerpts of what he wrote:
Can life be beautiful in a condemned building?
The Macapagal Tenement Building in Tondo has been condemned for over 15 years, yet is still the crowded home of over 1000 families. Existing with daily danger, they nevertheless take pride in not being squatters.
Built during the administration of President Diosdado Macapagal as a showcase for government concern for the urban poor, the seven-story high-rise is now a wretched symbol for what has gone wrong in the country since. When Marcos defeated Macapagal in 1965, the housing project was virtually abandoned by the government, identified as it was with the previous administration. But those who had been homeless and awarded units there, which they call condos, continue to live there and hope.
Guys, let me tell you – THIS IS A MUST READ!
It’s very, very sad – we are all working outside of the Philippines – true, we have our own problems, ako pa! kung pede ko lang sapukin yong mga bwisit sa office ko, you know, but I was riveted to what he wrote and I just find it shocking. I mean, I have close friends who live in Floodway (you guys know what that means, right?) but Floodway is a Corinthian Gardens Development compared to Tondominiun.
You must have already seen the documentary:
Condemned
An I-Witness documentary on GMA7

I hope someone sends me a copy! he he he! Ok, just a link to the docu would be really, really appreciated!
To Mr. Howie Severino, you should be commended for such a very bold job you did! Thank you so much for putting it upfront!

Reynz I think this is what you are looking for. I am a subscriber of this channel since GMA 7’s reception here in our area is drowned by the nearby ABS CBN station:
