Each Filipino soul owes Php44,318

by reyna10 on June 14, 2007

Listen children! ‘Dyo remember our GDP? Our dear “‘GOVERNMENT’S DYSFUNCTIONAL POLICIES” (ok ba ang political tagline ko Ross? he he he) where GDP = Consumption + Investment + Government + Exports – Imports, right? Now, let’s focus on GOVERNMENT.

Of course you know that G can only spend what it collects. What does it collects? Well, am not talking about Jueteng ano? I am talking about T – TAXES. According to our Engkanto Report, the national government’s debt reached P3.93 trillion as of end-March, up 0.9 percent from P3.897 trillion at end-February.

Now, get all your formulas kids.  The formula in G is this, G = T to have a balanced budget. Ayan, talking politician na talaga kayo if you could insert the phrase “balanced budget” in your vocabulary. Now, if G is greater than T, what does that mean? DOT MEANS, the G went on a credit card spree!!! (Ano na naman kaya inutang? Pang raise nang mga sweldo nila o bayaran yong ginasto sa election? Oooppss! Nadulas ba dila ko?!)

Anyway!!!! Result? Domestic debt was P2.18 trillion, up 0.6 percent from P2.16 trillion in February. Foreign debt was P1.75 trillion, up 1.3 percent from P1.73 trillion.

And with our  never ending baby production lovey dovey officially starts at 5pm because there is no electricity pushing our national population to 88.7 million, whew! that would translate to P44,318 per capita according to this news.

Yes, bluepanjeet – yong anak mo me di pa lumalabas – me utang na!!!

You know, I wonder if we could ask them to publish the USES of those funds NOT in some ridiculous language where only them could understand. Di ba? We want to know kung saan nila ginamit ang mga perang inutang na yan.

TRILLION, TRILLION, TRILLION! Pucha! Kahit $50, ni wala ako sa PayPerPost ko! KAYA SIGE BIRA! MAGSIPAGTRABAHO TAYO! GRRRRR!!!

what’s pretty much inane’s the fact that a great chunk of that debt is paid off by the middle class. 44K+ per person may not seem much to pay for the average professional in his/her lifetime but with the number of non-taxed individuals and the fact that all it takes is another government loan to bloat up that figure big time, why bother at all?

@ qwerty,

hey thanks for the visit! that Php44k is actually a misleading number because there’s unemployment or a big number of the population is really not earning, you know what i mean, so that number is actually higher! much higher than Php44k. the utang by every filipino soul to the tune of Php44k is just some symbol as to how much our gov’t is racking up expenses to the populations detriment, meaning, on a person to person basis, we lost Php44k that was given to the gov’t to waste. essentially that’s what happened.

That debts have been inhertied from the past administrations particularly from Marcos’.

The debts have accumulated due to balloon payments and the depreciation of the pesos in the past years.

Our budget deficits are being funded by the local borrowings which are not affected by the fluctuation of the currency valuation. The floating of the bonds in the international market was used to retire old bonds in order to save on interest payments.

It’s such a shame that an economist like GMA can’t even follow sound economic policies. Now that the peso is higher than the dollar (from previous years) loan repayments will be much easier since the exchange rate favors the Philippines. Instead of taking that exchange rate savings to pay off other loans or not borrow any more money, the government spends it all on God knows what. It’s so utterly ludicrous. Wish I can run my finances like the government.

Oopps! The Cat was here! :-)

Cat, I know that the bulk of our debts were from the Marcos government, however, Estrada and the rest of the administration have pumped borrowings as well. But just like what Rothschild had said, if we take the governments position of strengthened economy and weve had about 7 years of some really strong peso, then that would have put the govet in a great position and should have taken the opportunity paying off some loans so that interest payments on these loans would not be a burden esp during times of WORST budget deficits and am sure interest payments are a big part of it – which leads me to believe that we’ve not really made any headway at all in repaying our debts rather as the news said – it’s still increasing to which I read: more debts are still added to the already ballooning payments and interest already in the debt itself.
