My taxi ride last Friday

The car repair shop called me that my car is ready for pickup. I took a taxi from Center City to the Far Northeast to beat the traffic off I-95 before 5pm. I mean, that highway virtually becomes a parking lot during rush hour. Price to ride a smelly, disgusting, who spit here, nasty looking and bearded taxi driver who probably have not showered in weeks? = $45. I gave him a $5 tip to round it off to $50.

Wow, the last time I took a taxi from the Philadelphia Airport to my house in the Far Northeast cost me about $24.00. That was the time that my friend Lee and Chuva who were supposed to pick me up at the airport and DID not show up! I froze like crazy waiting for nothing, ok?! Yon yong namuti mata ko’t buhok sa kakahintay nang wala. I did not talk to Chuva and Lee for centuries! That’s when I learned how to voodoo.

Anyway, I checked my taxi driver, I swear, he doesn’t look Filipino. He comes from Nigeria. So I said, you know, they kidnapped 24 Filipinos in Nigeria mah man! Watz going on in your country dude? You guys don’t like Filipinos out there? And did I hear that you guys are having Presidential Elections tomorrow?

The guy was suprised! He looked at me like… ‘ba’t nito alam?!

Of course! I read news! Eh alam ko nga kung ano ang latest na tsismis sa Burundi at sa WalaWala University, sa Nigeria pa!

He said, in some really thick-accented English, “You see, in Nigeria, they kidnap people to make a statement and we’re not really like those Middle Eastern people who shoot people!”.

Ownk!!!

I did not say that! HE said that! I swear I have nothing against Middle Eastern people! For god’s sake! I wanna sleep with all of them! I think majority of Middle Eastern people are gorgeous, handsome, moh money, and handsome, moh money and cute! Especially the Iranians, the Greeks, the Turks, di ba? Di ba? Do you remember when we were invaded by Iranians and they were enrolled in all of the medical schools in the Philippines at that time? Even mah best friend in Legazpi City have one boarder who is Iranian who goes to Bicol Christian College of Medicine! Yeap, of all places! Ha! Ha! Ha! And almost every nite! He’s practicing physical examination on his ahhh… “clients”. Most of his clients, happens to be women. End of story. Baka kasi maging porno tong site na to.

Anyway, bat ba napunta ako dun sa mga Iranians?

Anyway, he continued his rants about Nigerian politics and corruption and those in the government who are milking their country, including the families and relatives of those who are in the position and he said, they have oil, they’re supposed to be wealthy but they don’t even have any decent infrastructure. So, I cut him off… and I said, “How’d you know much about what’s happening in the Philippines?”

He said, “huh?!”

Anyway, he said, he just graduated Engineering at Temple University and is just waiting for a change in the Nigerian government and he is planning to go back home. There is no place like home, he said.

And I agree.

There is no place like Manila.

Oo nga tapos na rin ako dun. Hirap kausap non ni Brigido. Kung ano anong mga kabalbalang pinagsusulat na kesyo sinabi ko. Ewan ko ba dun. Tulungan nya na lang mga Nigerians magsulat nang spam mails, yong di ba meron kang makokolektang milyones na dolyares?

haha! honga, medyo marami pa rin naman siguro bibiling ganong teknik. mas bebenta pa. nakupo! pag nakita na naman ni brigido yang post mo na yan bout nigerian emails, baka dito naman sya magpost ng kung anik anik. hehehe. sige ka!
